Nah, I wouldn't go that far. We are still WAY too big and heavy for a bird to kill and fly away with. An eagle-sized shrike would probably be only able to take something as large as cats, Raccoons, or even monkeys and newborn fawn if lucky
@@seandewar47 I have seen with my own 2 eyes a small shrike kill a snake the length of my arm, we were actually trying to trap it and this was many years ago back when I was 16, I had a live gecko on the trap as bait for the shrike, but it kept ignoring it and focused on something nearby a close rock, and when I walked back over there to see what issue was, I found a snake the length of my arm with its head shredded apart, another time I watched one attack a monitor lizard, it didn’t kill it but the monitor was bleeding from everywhere on its body, it wasn’t a huge monitor lizard, I would say it’s about forearm length, maybe from my finger tips to half of my forearm (body alone, not tail), but still several times the weight and size of the shrike, a true testament of what this deadly bird is capable of
@mlgn0sc0p3r5 the length doesn't mean much when it's weight i'm focused on. The weight difference a small snake/monitor lizard and a normal shrike isn't anywhere NEAR the weight gap between the gap between an eagle-sized shrike(the largest eagle of all time was 30 lbs BTW) and a human(Smallest adult still weighs over a hundred pounds).
The running commentary in the background is hilarious. The loggerhead shrike is putting it's pray on a thorn bush, no one put the needle there... It's just a thorn bush. If you are interested in a good family outing and getting your children introduced to nature, the zoo is a good step for your kids that can't go hiking yet. I recommend going humbly and not assuming that you know anything.
