    This is awesome! My original idea was to use my climber to stay mobile on public land. This system seems to be a bit more versatile, allowing me to hunt areas without straight trees. Thanks for the detailed video!!

    New to the climber world and put it to use this hunting season. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs I felt safe while climbing up and down a tree. It did take some time getting used to climbing and descending the tree. Once I figured it out I was comfortable going in climbing a tree knowing I was going to be up a tree quickly and most importantly quite not scaring every deer out of my area. I am 6’2” and 240 lbs, fit and comfort were great. I bow hunt and found no issues hunting from it. It is a little bulky to carry in and out of the woods vs some of the smaller open front climbers but I thought it was worth the bulk/weight due to ease of climbing (using the rail to sit on) and comfort for long sits.

    Good Stuff fellas! I've been using this setup with the Bloodsport since 2011 as well. I added some car interior sound deadener (DEI Boom Mat, Dynamat) on the outside of the platform and on the stem to quiet things down as I take them off the stand or putting back on at the end of a hunt. There are some products made specifically for this but going this route is a lot cheaper.

    Love the new show when you guys have been on Midwest whitetail as interns you have always been informative. Just wondering if the setup was 4 sticks per guy or is it 8 with 2 guys with the camera man involved to get to the initial height can't wait for the spring for shed hunting and your series Spring Thunder you guys are rippin it when the thunder chickens are gobbling..thank you happy New Year guys

    • @jacobhuebschman3547
      @jacobhuebschman3547 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jon Nosan typically it’s only 4 sticks total. We put two on each guy usually and can get about 15-18 feet depending on the tree.

    This show is awesome. Great job guys. I have a question. How come you guys use a mobile hang on setup instead of just using climbers. I hunt alot of public land where I am from and I have been using a climber, but am looking to switch over to using a mobile hang on setup. Just wondering why you guys prefer that.

    • @TheHuntingPublic
      @TheHuntingPublic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jay! Its easier to get mobile stands in crooked trees and trees with tons of branches. Climbers work well for straight trees but we rarely see one of those here.

      @jayevangelista9464 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the response. Thats what I figured. Im a big fan of the muddy systems. I have a couple ladder stands and fixed hang-ons. I am looking for the pro climbing sticks but I cant find them anywhere.

    *Nice stand>>>**ur2.pl/923** so far. It's my first, so don't have a comparison. But, after 2 times trying it out and hunting in the woods I think I have it down. It's light, but I got the Sherpa game cart converter and its a breeze to haul a mile. Also getting the Mollie Straps for shoulders and waist. The harness works as it should: looks like quality seatbelt material. If your on the fence about getting either an open or a closed-get the closed. You can even use the bar to shoot your rifle from if you set the top section high and just stand hunt.*

      I hope so because they have been out atleast 6 months. I like how short the pro sticks are be cause it makes them more adaptable to crooked trees. I've heard good things about the aerolites so I might have to give them a try.

  • @jeremyjames1113

    I’ve watched your channel and older vids of Midwest whitetail, I can say I’ve seen multiple episodes where there are 5,6 sticks up the tree and very few maybe I can count on one hand where 4 were used, let’s be realistic here 4 sticks isn’t practical to get to a comfortable height. Which actual sucks cause they sell in packs of 3,4 maybe....

    • @TheHuntingPublic
      @TheHuntingPublic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every situation is different. I (Aaron) take 4 each time. Greg takes 4 or 5 but we rarely use 6 unless we need to get very high.

    It’s really too bad that Muddy was bought by a company who is currently running them into the ground. Still have my muddy Bloodsport and pro sticks and to this day, it’s one of my favorite setups. If I could go back and buy all original muddy stands such as the “hunter” or “hunter pro”, I wouldn’t have to mess around with different kinds. Miss the original muddys a lot. What a shame the quality is now.

  • @BelowAverageRazzleDazzle
    @BelowAverageRazzleDazzle 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Gee wonder if Muddy is a sponsor... both of you rocking Muddy hats, recommending a heavy stand (13 pounds), heavy sticks (4 sticks = 10 pounds to get only 12' high)... Come on guys...

    • @TheHuntingPublic
      @TheHuntingPublic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @BelowAverageRazzleDazzle 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's cool man. Just kind of looked like a commercial for them with you both wearing hats, rocking 100% of their gear, etc. Didn't mean to sound like a douche by the way, was just curious if you were rocking all their stuff because you liked it, or because they gave it to you.

    • @TheHuntingPublic
