    Love those rubber bungee straps, that's exactly how I carry in. I cut a pocket out of a pants and my buckles get wrapped in that,and strapped behind the bungee. It's quick, quiet,and simple. Also I carry the stand with seat up towards my head so in event I slip the sharp platform grips are pointed down

    Took nearly 25yrs off from deer hunting until late last season. Didn't even know what a climbing stick was back then. Trying to figure out how to become a mobile hunter on your own is pretty damn intimidating, especially when it comes to getting in a tree safely, regardless of the apparatus. I've looked at saddles, climbers, and now seriously looking at the beast stand. Without having someone to help me learn personally, I've basically committed to primarily ground hunts, but vids like this really help out. If I do end up with a beast stand Im sure I will need this video several more times. Thanks for taking the time to help newbies, Josh....and greetings from the Evansville area.

    I'm with you on the cam straps. I have the lwcg doubles and still use the cam buckles. I find them easy and proven safe. Another thing about hunting height, I find higher isn't always better. I use only 3 of my 4 doubles. I set up above the lowest branches of smaller understory trees. The branches and leaves help hide me.

      When I first did hang and hunt I watched tons of videos and got ideas but the best learning curve was just going out back and hanging it up and getting down. Go slow at first and think about the tips and tricks as you go and try them. Most of the ones I thought were cool didn’t work for me. You’ll find your own rhythm

    The only problem with those Rubber Budgies is in COLD weather they loose their elasticity. Here in Soprano Land Police pull over and give out tickets if you use them on ladders to Roof Racks. Ladders used to fly off the Van Roofs because of it.

    This is the proper way to hang a stand (though I would have put the stand a little bit lower) but most importantly always hang your stand below your linesman belt

  • @michiganwoodsman2199
    @michiganwoodsman2199 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good video. Just a thought from. Primos guy, don’t ever leave anything on the ground. That pool noodle has enough sent on it to spook deer that would never get you in the air. Great video man. I’m stuck on my JX3 Harmess or summit climber. But this is very portable. Youd be surprised how many thick trees I can climb with my harness on and hunt at 8 to 15 feet without a single stick. Man I love deer hunting.

    How do you pull your bow or gun up to stand when set up? I will usually have a parachute cord tied to my belt loop down to bow. It can kind of be a circus at times with all the cords and straps moving around.

  • @Deerpoo22
    @Deerpoo22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dan, I got the stand and love it. But I do have a concern, I don't know if it's from the standoff distance to strap attachment point, or just the width of the bracket, but I noticed on a number of trees even with all the slack taken out the strap is hitting the bracket. Am I missing something here or is this normal? Can't say I've experienced this with any other stand

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its normal... Put the strap on at a 90 degree angle, and when you cam lock it, ir it slides down, sometimes there is contact with the strap. Mostly on larger trees. Shouldnt hurt anything.

    • @tughill4895
      @tughill4895 2 ปีที่แล้ว
