I cannot in good conscience recommend Material Works. Severely overpriced for what it does, surprisingly laggy, doesn't do the one thing it claims superiority in well (blending seams), takes months longer than every other major (and minor) addon I have to update to new Blender versions that it is incompatible with, and lead developer responds to questions from the community on said updates with deeply immature trolling. Very apropos for the surreal world of the 2020s, but not a good use of your time and money.
Noted thanks
@@TopChannel1on1 Sorry to add a sour review of one of the items, as there are a lot of other really great suggestions in here. Thank you for assembling this list! 😁
Hope they r free cuz every one of them looks GREAT as hell
what was the addon or animal stuff in the beginning 😮
thats how hollywood movies are made, the details are layers and layers even when you dont see them, my point was you cant add such detail without the right tools
Why blender doesn’t add these addons as default?
because they are not created by the blender team
Any good displacement add-on for Blender to do 3d printing?
am not sure i understand, like how would that look like
thank you, wish I had to time to learn all this
just dedicate an hour of your day if you can and you dont have to learn all of it
Hi, thanks for the video. But I cannot add it to watch later or other playlist. I was wondering why have you disabled it.
i did not
@@TopChannel1on1 alright, great channel tho.
Your “True Terrain” intro… hahaha, but so “true” ❤️
Very cool! Sub'd
thanks
Thanks. Very useful indeed!
Good Stuff Thanks!
so technically speaking blender is supposedly free but if I want anything granted for me in 3ds max or maya I would have to pay at least 2K to have these 12 to 25 dollars addons, some of the blender addons are basic features in 3ds max 7.5 bro. It is just horrible how people think that blender is free. I pay 350 dollars for 3dsmax indie license I dont need anything else as for effect I have particle flow and blender is poor in terms of modifiers compared to max OH unless I pay tons of money to buy those addons.
to be fair most addons come with libraries like extra materials, templates and models, blender can do alot without addons but you cant compare it to a product made by a multimillion company that has been funded since day one but we do because even though blender still has its flaws its still a competitive product
@@TopChannel1on1 I wasn't comparing both software in terms of competitiveness but what they can offer compared to what i am prepared to pay and in that regard max wins as I pay only 350 dollars a year as an indie developer. great informative video by the way. I am always trying to convince myself to adopt it but I still can very productive in it.
yeah you are right in many ways blenders development is slow and disappointing sometime, addons are a great way to bridge the gup, i guess call it girl math, but spending 7-12 dollars every now and then is easier than 350$ at once it feels like saving might not be though, also you only buy these addons once and get free updates atleast most of the time ,you are not paying 350$ every year@@voltenheim
Skill issue
Addon's isn't a blender only thing though.. You could spend 2k on C4D stuff easily. You can do the entire 3D & 2D pipeline with default blender. And even then - i have a ton of addons and am nowhere near even a single payment for C4D. Look, yea, with blender you're getting a free car - you can choose to complain it's not a Porsche out of the box.. or you suck it up a bit and reach your destination without leather seats. i'm fine with that and the perks of blender being free outweigh any bonus C4D gets me, personally.
