For those of you wondering: those "bugs" around the gas pump are fish flies! They're very common in places like Michigan. Millions of those fuckers carpet every enterance to every building and every road and side-walk. Sometimes accidents can happen because your car drives over too many of their guts and your tires spin out : )

That's not a fun fact, that's an example of how simple humans used to be in not seeing that coming.
Exactly. A car crash generates a lot of force in a very short time, and something has to absorb that force. If your car doesn't, your body will, and that much force in that little time is really bad for the human body.
I used to think the same thing, until the watermelon on my counter literally decided to explode while making dinner one night. Now I get it. Melons randomly decide to self destruct. Needless to say, I had to clean that up too. Yay watermelons!

I'm pretty sure it's because of the fact that it spoils and forms gasses on the inside, and when the "shell" can't keep all of them in, it just explodes. (I do not know if that's true btw, I'm not a watermelon expert)

One of the worst days of my dad's work life was after a storm. We were in a pretty wooded area, so the storm has knocked over a MASSIVE TREE directly into OUR AND OUR NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAY. They proceeded to spend the next solid 3 hours or so to move it. It was in the neighbor's way too, after all. So he thankfully helped. Decent guy.
The one with the shower door happened to me as well. Was just chilling in the living room and suddenly heard huge bang. It happened just like that, no one was even close to the bathroom (which I am really glad in retrospect). Apparently, tempered glass can have invisible defects from manufacturing which make it thermally expand/contract at different rates at that location, creating stresses. Its just a ticking time bomb at that stage. This can happen to any tempered glass afaik. Friend's pot-lid exploded in similar fashion for example.
And that's why I like tub showers with curtains, easy clean up.

Its the gas, because beached whales explode the same way. When something rots, the gas builds up and possibly cause an explosion.

They live as adults for about a day, and their only purpose is to mate, lay eggs, and die. I really wish apps like uber eats and door dash weren't so expensive, they're such good resources for people who're disabled or can't drive for whatever reason. As someone who can't drive due to severe motion sickness it feels like such a waste especially if the large amount of money I'd have to spend on a weekly basis wouldnt even go to the person who needs it

I have been an off and on Dasher for a while. This is really accurate. We get almost NONE of that extra shit they tack onto your order. It all goes to the vendors. And 90% of people just...don't tip.
You can get lucky, but some days it really is just a waste of gas.
I stopped tipping Dashers when I realized that none of them read an order ticket. I'm tired of paying for full meals, only to get a portion of said meal, or to have an entire meal completely left behind. If I drop $100 on an order, I expect to get my WHOLE order, and won't tip if I don't get it.
Funny thing is, my local Chinese and pizza delivery are handled by the restaurants, not a delivery partner. They NEVER get my order wrong. As a result, they get tipped very well. $60 Chinese food order? Have a $20 tip. $30 pizza order? Have a $12 tip. My wife and I tip our Chinese and pizza delivery drivers so well, they know our phone numbers, and you can hear their smiles when they answer the phone. We've actually had their drivers tell us that we are their best tippers.
I just payed $3000 to have a fence installed. Florida summers are brutal, but those three Honduran fellas busted hump and beat their estimated time by a day and a half. I tipped each of those men an extra $100, bought them dinner, and sent them home with a case of beer each. A job well done deserves recognition.
Basically, if you do a good job for us, my wife and I take great pride in tipping well. But if you utterly fail at the most basic aspects of your job, we aren't rewarding you.

7:15 I had a shower door explode on me once before. If I remember correctly this happens because there's a defect in the glass (usually a bubble) and the pressure from the door frame creates small cracks stemming from said defect until it ultimately shatters.
I'm just terrified about the teeth of the dog who ate the door and worried for the puppy who probably devoured some of that microplastic.

As for microplastics, if you're really worried about them, don't eat or drink anything. Microplastics have made their way into virtual every ounce of water and soil on the planet. They have even been found in 80% of humans. Plastic has literally become a part of everything at this point. Too late to do anything about it now.

As a cook for [popular name brand pizza Co here] I can confirm that the garlic parm sauce is 75-80% water and stays runner that a kids nose with the flu even after cooking. We all hate the garlic parm sauce because it always makes a mess when we cut it. Now I'm not saying it's 100% the pizza's fault. That pizza was clearly sideways at one point before delivery. I'm just saying that garlic parm sauce makes this easier to happen. Red sauce is thicker and tends to bond better in my experience.

I recently bought a used RV. Seller was up front about everything, and I knew what I was getting into. It needed some work, but it did start, run and drive just fine. A little janky stuff here & there. Like a friggin househole light-switch for a fuel-pump cutoff, and a bolt welded into the radiator fan clutch to make it solid. After tinkering and fixing, I go the get the state inspection. (Like the MOT for you folks in UK) Get there, and lights that worked the night before were dead. Half of the clearance lights and one taillight. Took it home, ordered lights online replaced all 12 clearance lights and both taillights with new, LED types. A few other bits and parts were changed and serviced as well. Go back to get the inspection finished. Passed! I go home and the family wants to go for a ride. We're all loaded up, and I go to start it. "Crank-crank clunk dies" Smoke from the dash.

No, It didn't burn down. I removed the instrument panel and searched out the source of the smoke. The 16ga. wire that runs from the ignition switch on the column to the starter relay under the hood had started to melt. And HELL NO, I'm not even going to attempt to remove ALL the dash and most everything under the hood to remove and the wiring harness, take it out of all the loom and replace one 16ga wire! No. I disconnected it at both ends and bypassed it with 10ga wire and a push-button.
Works fine.

That's the parking/emergency brake. If that was a standard, the brake pedal would be ½ that size and the clutch would be right next to it. Judging by what I can see, I'd say it's an '03 to '05 Chevy and they didn't make a lot of manuals then (outside of the Corvette, Camaro and S10).
If it was a 03-05 it was NOT a Camaro. They discontinued them in 2002 until about 2010.

I did the bathroom and I literally taped my clothes into a tyvex suit, and wore massive boots, three levels of gloves, with the lights off... if I can't see the fuckers.... @@heqrtout lol, chill. I have two cats, four dogs, and a bearded dragon. It's not like my neighbors don't know I have pets. Mostly because I wear fur on a daily basis. Mostly dog fur, but a bit of cat. The cat fur usually winds up in a shoe, as a wet ball.

This person is correct. That is a good ol' normal foot parking brake. My moms minivan has this. I owned a manual transmission car as well and it's clutch was close to the other 2 petals.
