Justin Pate, from The Wrap Institute, covers two topics in this session.
In the first part, Justin explains the pros and cons of using solvent and UV inks for vehicle wraps. This includes install tips and tricks plus help on how to analyze the workflow benefits in order to maximize profits.
In the second part, Justin focuses on 2.5D printing for interior wraps. This is a great way to increase profits and offer clients a unique finish for both the home and office. 2.5 prints have a special install protocol that is important to consider. Justin demonstrates these tips and tricks on two wall installs. One uses a digital full print film and the other a 2.5D print on lamination that is applied over a color interior film.

I have a water based stratojet hawk clean print with UV drying. Is this recommended for vehicle wraps if I’m using 3M cast vinyl and over laminate?

Both are great options! Eco solvent is the traditional method of printing vehicle wraps. Mimaki also offers a flexible UV ink for wrapping cars which allows for lamination immediately after printing.
