    on the 60 in 1 board you used it has what looks like a computer power supply hookup. Can you use the power supply from a computer to power the board also?

    Great video thanks i can get my S3 button to work using the grey wire but in setup I can press s2 to move forwards but when I press s3 it goes backwards a screen, should jump to the end. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

      So, this could be the version of your 60-in-1 board. There are several board variations and not all of them function the same especially in the setup menu. With that said, we would recommend double checking your wiring. Make sure you go by pin location and not wire color as the color can change depending on the JAMMA harness. Here's a JAMMA pinout diagram in case you need it: www.arcaderepairtips.com/jamma.html

      The one I just installed does this. If you look, it says on the screen by S3 "LAST". It means LAST screen you were on, not the final screen of setup. Irritating, as the volume control is on that last screen, huh? Also, my manual says use the TEST switch to access the menu and such, but I have to use the JUMPERS on the pcb itself I think.

    • @TortureBot
      @TortureBot ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually any ground wire or any metal part of the cabinet that is grounded to everything else. In a pinch while building a cabinet, I've just touched the end of that wire to the coin door (which was grounded) and it brings up the test screen. So basically, when you press ANY button, you're grounding it to a wire somewhere that goes back to the JAMMA harness (where it's grounded).

    Hey! I'm grabbing a 60 in 1 soon and I want to use a VGA monitor and ATX power supply. What would you do with the unused JAMMA wires on the harness linked to a CGA monitor and arcade power supply preferably without snipping the wires outright?

    • @arcaderepairtips

      We usually bundle them up with a zip tie. We don't like to snip them because you may need them if you decide to change out the board in the future. Hope that helps.

    i have a jamma board cocktail table multi video game but monitor goes to sleep mode. it started slowly and unplugging several times resolved the issue sometimes but now continuously goes to sleep mode. Bought another power source checked cables and used different monitors but issue persists ??????????????????????????

    • @arcaderepairtips
      @arcaderepairtips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Monitors typically go into sleep mode if they are not receiving a signal from the computer/game board powering the cabinet. Since your cocktail cabinet is using a JAMMA board, it could be either power issues with the board or the board itself. Start off by checking the voltage going to the board to make sure it’s correct. You may need to adjust your power supply if the voltage is too low. If you can’t get the voltage dialed in, try replacing your power supply. If the voltage is correct, then you probably have an issue with your JAMMA board. Since it’s a multigame board, your best bet is to buy a replacement.

    • @arcaderepairtips
      @arcaderepairtips  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What sort of problems are you having? The speakers wires on a JAMMA setup are pretty basic. The Speaker + (pin L) and Speaker - (pin 10) wires usually connect directly to a speaker. They may hook up to an audio amp depending on your setup. Please send some pictures of your setup to questions@arcaderepairtips.com if you continue to have trouble with your speaker connection.

    Is there no transformer needed?

    • @arcaderepairtips
      @arcaderepairtips  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the monitor installed in your cabinet. While older CRT arcade monitors typically require an isolation transformer, most newer monitors do not. Check the manual for your monitor to see if it requires one.

      Sounds like you need a new chip set.

    • @TortureBot
      @TortureBot ปีที่แล้ว

      Turn off the game and unplug it. Look on the main circuit board (not the one directly against the display tube, but the game board). Firmly push down on the little individual chips on the game board that are in sockets. Sometimes these chips "creep" out of their sockets they are seated in slightly and don't make good contact. This can sometimes fix your problem. DON'T press TOO hard or you might crack the board.

    • @arcaderepairtips
      @arcaderepairtips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's the whole joystick that stopped working, it could be caused by a break in your ground wire daisy-chain. Check the continuity between the ground wires on the joystick and the ground wires on either the other joystick or one of the buttons that is functioning. If the continuity is good, it's possible that it could be a board issue. If the board has a I/O check in the test mode, enter it and see if it registers the joystick directions. If you need additional help with your issue, we will be discussing your question on our Live Show Episode 63 which can be found at the following link: th-cam.com/video/VbLsiMHhb8k/w-d-xo.html
