I'm all about keeping a classic game original, but lately since it's been a real pain finding cabinets and pcbs without spending tons of money, I've found new love for these 60-1 pcbs. Just converted Ms Pacman that had a flaky pcb and hacked wires to jamma and 60-1. Will lock down to only play Midway games. Got a Centipede that had a dead pcb. Sound is messed up on about 6 games and the continue game feature doesn't work on all games (particularly Arkanoid). All-in-all it's a great little board, especially for the cost.
I have this board in a bartop machine. And I’ve not experienced the sound problem as mine has volume control. The Pacman and galaxian is set up wrong as in lives. I accessed the main set up and corrected that now. But I personally think this is the best board so far in my experience. I’ve a retro pi and pandora box’s but for me this board mostly has the classics for me as I’m mid 50’s and grew up with the originals

Great video.!
Only definitely plan on getting one of these boards for myself. I definitely think this board is worth it and I can see why many operators and different establishments have bought a 60 in 1. My main problem with this board despite it being worth it is the fact that Rally X is flat out broken. It’s meant for horizontal monitors not vertical monitors. Even if the picture was somewhat skinny. That wouldn’t be too much of an issue but the game is just flat out broken. kind of wish that this was mentioned but anyways good review.

So, fun fact about “Burger Time.” That high pitched “squeal” actually WAS part of the original arcade game, but it was buried MUCH lower in the sound mix. It was not nearly as audible. No idea why they mixed the sound this way on the rom. It sounds distracting and annoying here.
Thanks for the video. I happen to get my hands on a 60n1 from a place that, unfortunately, had to close down due to CV-19. But I got the cabinet for $500. Couldn’t pass it up. I wanted to make mention that you may want to do a follow up on is about the sound. I had to add a potentiometer (500 resistance) and mounted it on the underside of the control deck. Now I can play when the family is asleep. 😉 I like your idea of adding a button to the Test leads. That is a tremendous help to the alternative. Thanks for that. Question, though, when you play Centipede, 2 players, is the two player screen mirrored? I just bought this exact same arcade machine with 60 in 1 Games. My question is can I get other game boards with more games And just plug it in, or with this particular arcade machine is there Any limitations I need to know about?
jamesmartin3236 JAMMA switchers exist. So, in theory you could have a couple of JAMMA cards in your cabinet. I’m not sure how power would work or how you would switch between games but it would be a neat project.
8bitredcat I plan to get rid of the 60 in 1 card and put in a 750 in 1 or more. I just don’t know if It would be compatible. Also there are different button layouts, that’s what made me wonder if all carts would be compatible with that particular arcade machine. The video shows the exact same machine that I have.
Go to diyretroarcade. They have a great video on how to do this. You need to have the right LCD driver that works with the Jamma 60 and 1 and your specific monitor. If you don't it won't work.

Great review. After I watched this I purchased a 60 in 1 kit and a 3 inch track ball from Paradise Arcade Shop, and a dedicated Happ dedicated 4 way from Ebay. Had Coin Ops original set up in a Space Invader Cabinet that I found in the trash with an X-Arcade controller and XBox. Unfortunately the hard drive crashed. Pretty bad regarding 4 way game play. Bought two two player Pandora’s Box 20s 3D WiFi’s on Ebay. Set one for 4 way to play older arcade games and one set for 8 Way to infinity for fighting. With the upgraded Sanwa JLFs it plays pretty good on the 4 way gate. However lacks the proper feel for PAC, DK, etc. Growing up in the late 70s and early 80’s is a blessing and a curse regarding arcade. After playing the originals believe the only way to get close to the feel is by doing the full 60 in one set up with a track ball. Not knocking it but personally not interested in 1st Up. Cabinets don’t have dimensions for comfortable game play. However I do think it does reach those who don’t have the space. We will see how the 60 in on for the Space Invaders Cab goes.

Hi everyone, a doubt: in the motherboard there is a vga output with CGA and VGA resolution; but can it be connected to a cathode ray tube monitor? If yes, what are the links to use? Are those of the jamma comb? Thank you very much for the clarifications. W the 80s games, my siblings were always at the bar to see others play, hahahaha
Mary Elisabeth there is vga and cga connectors. VGA has a dedicated 15 pin din connector (standard port). Cga goes out via a 4 pin molex connector. (Nope, wrong. Molex = power). Either can go to a crt if the crt supports vga or cga. Or the vga output could go to an lcd.
@@8bitredcat Dear 8bit, in fact, my brother confirms to me that the 4-pin molex connector is used to power the 60 in 1 card through a pc power supply with its own molex connection. Did I misunderstand or did I misrepresent the question? My request is: once I have connected almost all the cables from the jamma comb, to get to the 5 CRT monitor cables (old catodio tube in an 80s cabinet for instance), these 5 pins from where I take them?
Mary Elisabeth I’m wrong. Molex = power. I get cga from the JAMMA harness. The monitor on my cab is original and uses red/green/blue/ground wires from JAMMA. Do you want to hook this up to an old school cga computer monitor?
How do I get a machine like that with that monitor? A lot of machines I see on eBay are digital with a flat screen. Is there a specific website I can order the machine with the type of cabinet I want? And also I saw a 39-1 and it looks the same as the 60-1. So are these just things that I install into the machine?
It’s custom built. The base console with bottom and controller cut outs was available on eBay. The buttons and controllers are all common Jamma. The vinyl artwork on the controller was available on eBay as well.

It always boots to service screen and I have verified that the dip switch #4 is off and not in service mode. I have two of these boards and it seems to be doing it with both boards. I also have multiple harnesses. One player and two player harnesses. Please Help, thanks!!!
this is a descent video...but would be way more helpful if you could please, please, please!!!!! add to this video or make one that shows your actual wiring setup for the trackball and which wires from the gamma harness are needed to connect the trackball as well as the controller. I would so look forward to getting some help with that. Thanks
Big Blanski I think so, but I recall it being confusing. I feel like it takes you back to the main menu and you can reselect the game which will continue with the counter still in progress? Or maybe that was just arkanoid
rabidmarmot I mean CGA CRT. Most all retro arcade cabinets had CGA CRTs. Later games moved to VGA. If you look up the 60in1 or any JAMMA board you’ll see outputs for CGA and VGA. A CGA monitor can display 16 colors but most PC modes only offered a 4 color palette. However there are a bunch of tricks that can be done to get more than just 16 colors. Tbh I’m not sure how arcade cabinets implemented color and graphics on a CGA monitor and assumed that CGA couldn’t be right as I’m also used to black, white, cyan, and magenta PC games. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Graphics_Adapter
There is a Jamma Pandora’s box for vertical screens that has a crapload of games and probably Mappy. Qbert, and Raiden are present. Though I’ve heard quality is not good.
I picked red, green, and blue buttons for (what should be) obvious reasons. The red button would be your primary (jump for donkey Kong), green for secondary (bombs in 1941). Gun smoke is the only game that requires all three buttons (iirc).
My biggest bummer with this 60 n 1 is the really poor graphics on some of the games. Games like Galaga 3 and Gyrrus, for example, look really blocky. To the point that it distorts the image and looks nothing like the original. Other games look better but not good enough IMHO
What game could I get this with It has the to that I want the most pac man and Donkey Kong please comment back thank you very much I would only just want to games on one That's all I want those 2 games thank you very much please comment back
The video covers the majority of games that come on the card and how to disable/enable games. You could configure this card to only play Pac-Man and Donkey Kong.
The Donkey Kong on these isn't very good. The colours are a bit off (girders are red rather than pink) and the sound isn't quite right (the notes don't fade out as nicely as on the original arcade but sound clipped). And the picture is generally a bit fuzzy. It's strange because that fuzziness doesn't seem to happen in the other games.
for some reason they decided to scramble/repeat levels with increased difficulty before showing all the stages - instead of just playing them in order 😳

How do I get a machine like that with that monitor? A lot of machines I see on eBay are digital with a flat screen. Is there a specific website I can order the machine with the type of cabinet I want? And also I saw a 39-1 and it looks the same as the 60-1. So are these just things that I install into the machine?
I got this cab off of Craigslist many years ago. It had already been converted to JAMMA for the bootleg Ms PacMan.
The Game Never Over and iCade are presumed to both be made by Hsin Pao Hang Enterprises, so yes
that’s what’s up. Do you know how big the monitor is by chance?
For MsPacMan, I see that the power pellets are hearts, can they be toggled back to dots?
Y Lee yes
Dipswitch settings.
yes in setttings
Are you using a classics of 1981 control panel
It’s custom built. The base console with bottom and controller cut outs was available on eBay. The buttons and controllers are all common Jamma. The vinyl artwork on the controller was available on eBay as well.

I have the same game but it stopped working now it just blinks I tired to reset
Can someone help me? I purchased a 60-1 Blee and i seem to have wired it correctly as the lights flash solid green after power up and blinking green on the second light but the games never seem to start up.
Thanks
Im building one of these now and really appreciating you video. I have the process on my TH-cam if you want to check it out. thanks.
What's up with the hearts instead of dots on MS Pac-man ?!
you can choose either
hey do you know where you got the cabinet?
Beloit? Janesville? I dunno, somewhere in Wisconsin.
@@8bitredcat cheers
Is there any way to continue in gun.smoke and 1943? When I coin up it just adds credits to the main menu. If they don't continue I may just hide them.
Big Blanski I think so, but I recall it being confusing. I feel like it takes you back to the main menu and you can reselect the game which will continue with the counter still in progress? Or maybe that was just arkanoid
@@8bitredcat gotcha. Thanks for the reply!👍
Hit dip switch 4 on. And change gun smoke and 1943 to continue mode.
you mean CRT monitor, a CGA monitor only has 4 colors, which the old IBM PC computers used before EGA and VGA.
rabidmarmot I mean CGA CRT.
@@8bitredcat I stand corrected, thanks for explaining!
And where did you get your truck ball
Randy- If you really need a truck ball, try www.americantrucks.com/truck-accessories-parts.html
ebay or holland computers
I'm suprised there's no q bert or mappy
There is a Jamma Pandora’s box for vertical screens that has a crapload of games and probably Mappy. Qbert, and Raiden are present. Though I’ve heard quality is not good.
I've got mappy. Great game.
My 60 in 1 had Mappy. I spent many quarters learning that game!!
mappy is there
Great review in a sea of shit ones. Spot on cheers! Thank.you
how to order?
So tell me your button layout what's the red green and blue buttons register fire what are the other two
I picked red, green, and blue buttons for (what should be) obvious reasons. The red button would be your primary (jump for donkey Kong), green for secondary (bombs in 1941). Gun smoke is the only game that requires all three buttons (iirc).
up to 3 buttons
button 2 is like shield in phoenix only the cowboy game needs 3 and it could be told to work with 1 btn
Time Pilot sound is so off that even my 8yo daughter noticed. It lead to a long educational conversation about emulation.
the dig dug isnt very smooth if it was i would buy it digdug is my fav arcade game
4.26 screen burn with pac man :/
hello can this be set up to accept coins?
Yes
Is this thing based on emulation?
Yeah, either FPGA chips or an old build of MAME circa 2003
HELLO ANYONE OUT THERE. does jamma 60 in 1 support track ball, if so, which wire does it connect to. thanks
Yea it does. There is a header on the 60in1 for the trackball
@@8bitredcat could it be the player 2 pin? I see you mod it with a TB.
My biggest bummer with this 60 n 1 is the really poor graphics on some of the games. Games like Galaga 3 and Gyrrus, for example, look really blocky. To the point that it distorts the image and looks nothing like the original. Other games look better but not good enough IMHO
They look fine to me. I am using a generation 2 Arcade1up countercade though.
@@8bitredcat That's all I wanna play so I could set it up that way how much is this game please comment back thank you very much
you can run this board with a jamma harness and hide the other games
Renegade would work well on this thing, with the whole 3 button setup.

The Donkey Kong on these isn't very good. The colours are a bit off (girders are red rather than pink) and the sound isn't quite right (the notes don't fade out as nicely as on the original arcade but sound clipped). And the picture is generally a bit fuzzy. It's strange because that fuzziness doesn't seem to happen in the other games.
but the gameplay itself is very good
No one noticed donkey Kong is missing maps/levels?!
It's the american romset. They unlock as you play the game more.
i figured this out the hard way :(
got a dk jr pcb and it still had the "missing" maps
for some reason they decided to scramble/repeat levels with increased difficulty before showing all the stages - instead of just playing them in order 😳
