- FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!
Frugal Living
I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
HOW DOES A FOOD PANTRY WORK?
Every Food Bank and Food Pantry has their own set of rules, so make sure to call and speak with staff that can guide you to apply. Some go by how much money you make (income guidelines).
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.

Yay for another upload! Yes! I’m all over the place for the golden girls! I have the entire show on my Amazon prime! I cannot sleep without watching it! lol especially when I was in the hospital for almost six months about three years ago! I depended on the golden girls!
It's just the best TV show! I watched it growing up, and still love it! I wish they had kept going and made more episodes. Sophia is my favorite character, she just said what was on her mind!

A trick for desserts like the cheesecake you are freezing... when you go to pull them on the lid of a jar and put the top of the jar on top of the lid like a cake stand and take them home to defrost. Then you can pull out 1 or 2 at a time... no bags or plastic wrap required.

I lived with a mini fridge in college. You definitely make it work. It's impressive really. I would need to move up to at least an apartment size fridge. I love maxing out the potential of my fridge. Like making fridge pickles, we like condiments, dressings, I bake so I need a lot of butter at any given time, drinks for kids, lunch meat, left overs, string cheese and blocks of cheese. I also have a stand up freezer and a bottom freezer all full bc we save $ during the year buying 1/4 cow and my husband hunts. I'm also thinking of doing meat rabbits along w my garden (I freeze a lot of produce too).
That sounds like a smart setup especially buying bulk meat and with the hunting your husband does! Yes, baking does require good old butter. The mini-fridge has been a good refrigerator for me. It can be a challenge, but it works out well! With having a family, it's so important to have full size appliances. I'm thinking of getting a countertop oven for future baking!
That's good, I don't get there often once every 4 months, I be struggling due to no car nor family and widow hood,so I get mark downs and beef bones as much as possible.
You bring up a really good point on transportation. I hope you are blessed with a vehicle soon to help get you where you want to go! I wish food pantries had a program to drop off supplies. Your plants look quite dry. They need a good dose of water that drains water down to the bottom of the pot. Usually one to two doses of thorough watering should be good for a possibly a week.

hi, sarah! i'm late, i'm late for a very important date. just kidding. it's been a long day - preop for surgery today. plans are on for next tuesday so i'm trying to not be afraid. this will be 3 surgeries, next week, another in about 4 to 6 monthes and then when ready a cataract surgery.
you got some great food - everything looked good. the little cheesecakes really caught my eye - however, the salad, pulled pork and the salmon looked great too. i hope things are good with you. we've had the atmospheric river early this week with another one possibly coming soon. no flooding here but a large amount of the town lost power due to high winds. hoping for good sleep tonight, just could not calm down last night. see you firday.

I love those little cheese cakes. It looks like those desserts you get on the little golden circles is just the right amount. You are so blessed to have a good food pantry. I was wondering if you get to pick the items yourself or do they just fill your bags for you? I don't have any choice at my pantry. They just push a cart already loaded out to you.
Great Question! I do get to shop in the food pantry and pick out the items. It's an unusual food pantry and I'm so glad to have access to it! Yes, the little cheesecakes are perfectly portioned for single servings!

Another great video. Fantastic food this week loved all the meals you made, Thank you for your kitchen tour great use of the space. I have open shelves and made some pretty curtains to cover them. It really works for me as it hides all my clutter and its easy to get to everything. Where you live looks so pretty . I love seeing all the snow. You are making my mouth water with that fried chicken and bbq! I’ve heard those Poppi drinks are really good. The brass candle holders are beautiful! I have been slowing picking up things like that at the thrift store. I keep scripture out around my little apartment too.

The cheesecakes , the salmon, and the chicken meal with the mac n cheese/green beans were my favorites from your haul . I would have even eaten the mac n cheese , lol .
All good choices! I like mac n cheese but this particular one has a strange cheese odor. I don't know what kind of cheese it is, but it always smells funny to me!
I would think heating up the fish would smell a lot worse than brussel sprouts!

I have a an apartment size fridge and It sucks. I need to take ideas from you. I did live out of a mini fridge. first time when i was in college. The second time was me and my ex were homeless and living out of a hotel for like a year.
The most frustrating part of my mini-fridge is the defrost. It is not frost-free. When I get another fridge, I want the auto defrost!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel oh goodness that is frustrating. We have a chest freezer now that is not frost free so I get this. HOwever, I imagine you have to defrost yours a lot more often.

What does Tulsi tea taste like? Is it an herbal tea or a dark tea?
Tulsi tea reminds me of peppermint tea. It is an herbal tea, so no caffeine. It's light and has a nice scent.
What state do you live in? It looks like Sacramento area to me.
