- loaded up a sheet of plywood in the bed of my truck and went out and tore it up a little bit... did some 0-60s and some brake tests and just discussed a few new things I have noticed.

The fact your doing all this with plywood in back is Hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Haha, i was trying to figure out a way to get a video showing that i still had the plywood in it when i was out doing all this but i was by myself and i didnt' want to be getting in an out setting up cameras. It was pretty fun though.
Enjoying the videos.
Just a tech point - you really should avoid using 4H on a sealed/tarmac surface, it locks the centre diff and will bind/overstress the transmission and driveline, because the wheels can't release the different rotation speeds like they can when slipping on dirt/snow/mud/rocks.
4A is a better choice ;)
thanks so much for the info about the difference between 4H and 4A. I wasn't sure if 0-60 would get a fraction better launch in 4H over 4A as the computers figured out where to send power but you are absolutely right about it being harder on the driveline... when i was turning i could feel it binding up. I wont be doing that again unless i'm out on dirt roads! Cheers
Keep producing great content man! I think the Ridgeline can squeeze in a 4x8 between the wheel wells also, but I know it’s not technically a “truck”.
yeah, i read a few forums about the ridgeline when i was looking up the info for the tacoma and colorado... i mean, i think it is a truck and the people i know who own them love them... it probably drives like a car/minivan and has the ability to take a load of stuff to the dump... if that is what someone needs, the honda is probably the perfect option... i just like the looks of the ranger / colorado / tacoma more than the ridgeline, but it is pretty dang capable!
I have a crewcab tundra with the short bed. I installed a campershell as well. Anytime I pick up plywood. I keep the tailgate up and load the longer plywood/sheetrock so it's angled up.
Yeah, I was going to do that but I knew I was going to go out and do some 0-60 runs and didn’t want that speed brake in the back
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions have a GREAT weekend!
Right on! thanks for taking the time to watch. hope you have an awesome weekend too! Cheers
it looks fun to drive, looks sick
It is a blast!
Appreciate these daily videos! Helps pass the time until mine is built and delivered!
thanks and I'm glad I can share my experiences with fellow enthusiasts
Beautiful truck
thank you! I am enjoying it
Another good video.. keep up the content👍
Thank you, much appreciated.
I appreciate your daily use content. You've answered some questions that the normal reviewers won't even think to address. For instance, it's useful to know that the cruise control will engage at 15mph for city driving. Also, knowing what the skid/bash plates do/don't cover helps prioritize purchases for my use case. I'm curious about the spare wheel. Is it the same as the primary 4, so you can do a 5 tire rotation? When the other tires are sufficiently worn, a full size spare may cause issues with some 4wd auto and awd systems.
it is just a steel wheel unfortunately, so no rotating it in without having it look bad. kind of a bummer but not surprising. I may consider having my rotations done at a real tire shot and have them switch out the tires from the spare to one of the regular rims every 10K miles... might be worth the cost to keep it in rotation.
@@flaberdoopin Thanks for the quick reply! I'll see if the dealer can order 1 factory wheel for the spare. I plan to install 35x12.5 R17 upon delivery. As best I can tell from the paucity of online information, the factory wheel with it's uncommon +55mm offset with a 25mm front strut spacer may offer the best chance of fitting 35s without trimming fender wells, and without affecting the position-sensitive damping. It's potentially the rare situation where a cheap strut spacer is the right solution. Hopefully the beadlock rings are available, too. There are certainly cheaper/lighter/better looking beadlock wheels, but it appears the available offsets cause problems. I'm hoping for minimal modification. Who's eager to start hacking away at a ~$60k truck!?
does look tight, you think it would still lay flat with the spray in liner? I ordered my ranger with it with the intent of hauling plywood.
i think it will still fit with a spray in liner... they look significant, but they are no more than 1/16th of an inch thick. I'm glad i'm not the only one who looked at the wheel well space before buying with this in mind!
I got my Raptor today woohoo
Make a video on how the cruise control works it's kinda confusing 😕
I talked about it a bit in one of the first videos, i will try to find the spot and put the link here in the comments in a few minutes for you
Ok I figured it out was kinda confusing
Now I kinda hate it and yeah I do remember when you mentioned it in that one video
Every time the speed limit sign changes so does the truck
@@Raven00714 if you are in cruise control... it will not change the speed settings as you drive past a new speed limit sign but the display will show the new speed limit... there is a different feature with a "LIM" button that will change the speed of the truck as the speed limit changes, but it is separate from the cruise control.
I went into settings and found that I can change the cruise to a normal mode without adapted cruise and I prefer this way, also check the covers on the crash bar and make sure they are tight I almost lost one of them it was just hanging on by one retainer good thing I looked
Any way to measure the downforce generated by the plywood? Must be close to an f1 car.
Haha, I’m pretty sure I could drive it upside down in a tunnel @ 87 mph with this dope plywood spoiler!
How tight is the space with plywood? Will it fit with spray on bed liner?
I saw another one on TH-cam that has the liner and the plywood fit
It should. There is 1/4-1/2” left and liner is 1/16” maybe
I have one ordered I just wanted a fun truck it will be on road 95 percent of the time my question is does this truck feel seat of pants fast compared to a 6.2 or a coyote I'm afraid I am gonna be disappointed would love to know what you think?
I traded my M3 for this and this is NOWHERE near the performance. I was shocked that this truck had 405 hp (same as my m3) because it was so much slower, but I still do love it. It is a dog in turns and brakes like a big heavy truck but it’s better than most big 5300 pb vehicles. If you are looking for a good all around vehicle, this is it, if Picard hoping for a truck that handles like a sports car this will leave you wanting… they need to make an ST version of the Ranger for that old school California street truck scene!
In my country there are alot of speed bumps and i just speed on them but do you think its gonna break? bc i'm not scared to pay but just want to know i don't wanna break my stuff
I think this truck will handle speed bumps better than most other options out there but with enough abuse anything will break.
Have the ranger raptor and I’ve been speeding through speed bumps for almost a year now. It’s very confidence inducing. Doesn’t give me any problems
@@ErnestMarvinEsteban oh wow i'm happy its not a bad sale
Overall does it sound pretty good?
I think it sounds good for a V6... the inline 6 in my bmw sounded better with similar specs (3L and 405 hp)...but for what it is, I am liking it... the stereo is also really good and it has great insulation so the interior is relatively quiet when you are driving down the highway
Did your truck come with park assist?
I don't think the ranger raptors have that feature... my old explorer ST did but I'm almost certain that this does not. I will check again tomorrow to see if maybe I missed it
@@flaberdoopin ours does. Maybe in the US they don't have that feature...
Why premium? Its not required.
Not required but if you buy an eco boost and put 87 in it, it will retard the timing and you won’t get the advertised power. Higher octane allows the computers to advance timing and produce a bit of extra pep
Ridgeline ain't a truck 😂
certainly not the truck i would pick, but from what i hear, some of the poeple who have them love them. to each their own right?
I don’t understand the market for small trucks…they aren’t cheap, they haul less, tow less, hold value less, only get marginally better mpg & have way less room & way less power
I think there are a lot of upsides to having a small truck. it is easier to drive in the city, it fits in my garage, it's easier out on the trails. i dont own a trailer or really plan on towing and 95% of the time, i am in my truck by myself driving into DC for work so this was the right choice for me. Cheers.
