Thank you very much for this video. I had used a DD1 + Heusinkveld Sprint pedal combo in the past when I was heavily into GTSport and GT7 when it initially came out with just the DriveHub and it was a pretty decent experience. Somewhat recently though I ended up parting with my DD1 and went with Simagic for the wheelbase. I was iching to get back into GT7 since it seems they've turned the game from a shitbox to a passable shitbox but wasn't sure how I'd use my new wheelbase. I know Simagic has their own spoofer device but it only seems to support Simagic hardware so my pedals wouldn't work. Knowing that this setup you outlined works is giving me hope again so I'll definitely be looking into the GIMX + DriveHub solution very soon! Thank you very much!

Awesome, I'm glad it gave you some useful info :) I didn't know Simagic did their own device, but it would be great if more manufacturers did that. Better still, a single device from a good company that does the work of the Drivehub, GIMX and hori controller all in one, but that's just wishful thinking.

Hi, it's not made by Simagic themselves, it's the Sigma Cortex Converter (it's only compatible with the Simagic ecosystem and has 4 usb inputs with a screen to show adjustments of ffb and rotation degrees set). And like the Ras1ution 2, it emulates the g29 which as with all g29 emulators gives you the logitech centre wobble. The drivehub looks the best experience so far set to fanatec mode.

While I'm sure that will massively improve the dynamics of the interaction between sim and wheel, I still can't get past only being able to use the Simagic ecosystem. Not that I'm saying that Simagic are bad, but there are other options out there, not to mention the countless people who already have a setup that just can't use the Cortex because their gear isn't from Simagic. In summery, it all boils down to Sony locking the door and preventing us from using OUR PAID FOR consoles to play games/sims the way we want to play them. And they can hardly say it's to level the playing field when there are already so many different brands and wheel types out there that have native compatibility but just aren't quite to the level some people desire.

Mate. All I can say is EXCELLENT job on this tutorial. Out of all the "How to get any wheel working on PS5" videos I've seen, yours is the best one by FAR.
I have already been using gimx on my PS4 to play GT7, but I'm thinking of upgrading to a PS5, which led me to your vid. It works well on PS4. I have a Leo Bodnar DD wheel and I see you have a SimuCube. Both are similar in terms of power and NM strength, so I was wondering are you getting any annoying oscillations around the center when driving in GT7? I've heard from various comments that oscillations is one of the main issues when using non-supported wheels to play GT7 using this method. Perhaps the Fanatec mode on the Drive Hub eliminates this problem?

    • @AdamsSIMporium

Incredible information and the most recent on this subject that I can find after hours of searching, I even saw your other video from Nov. 2019 on this subject. Thank you for this tutorial.
I am setting up my first rig and after researching, it looks like SC2 PRO is the way to go, running on a gaming PC. I would like get the SC2 PRO first and play GT7 on my existing PS4 and eventually get a PS5/VR and a gaming PC but that is a lot of clams, so piece by piece.
I have read that the FFB is soft, or not as detailed when using the SC2 PRO and GT7 this way compared to a console compatible wheel, in which the options are limited.
    My question is:
    1) What is your opinion on the FFB in this set up? Is it soft or bland as I have been reading? Or has firmware and settings put it on par with console offerings for GT7 or is it just good enough to get-by?
    2) Is there any notable lag with the GIMX, DriveHub, game pad and computer when driving? Being a novice, I don't think I would notice at first and a lot is involved such as monitors but I can't find much info on lag time with this set up.
For reference I use my buddy's PS5/VR with a Logitech G923 so I hope this setup will be levels above that.
I don't think the console offerings that work on PC (like DD Pro+ or Logitech G Pro) will be enough for some of the PC sims on the computer and I only want one base.
Thank you for your time sir!

    • @AdamsSIMporium
      @AdamsSIMporium  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hey thanks :) Well I find the FFB decent enough to feel what is going on and to be immersed. Certainly good enough that when the headset is on and I'm in the car I don't think twice about how good the FFB may or may not be. As for lag, I don't perceive any myself. However, this setup is of course a bit of a faff but serves a helpful purpose of using our non-compatible console rigs on GT7. If you want things more straight forward I'd at least consider the Logitech G Pro. The wheel and pedals are very good and you would be able to plug and play console or PC. Also, you may have trouble getting a GIMX now, I see on their site it's always out of stock, so you'd have to keep an eye out and do some searching

It’s because you’re using a honestly terrible workaround.
The issue is the game sees your wheel as a Logitech G29. Hence the crazy oscillations.
The only way around that is to use the Sigma Cortex converter, but then you are required to use Simagic pedals.

Hello mate I was wondering if you could help me out, I’ve been using CSL dd, Drivehub/ ps5 for 8 months without a problem and now it doesn’t work. Everything is updated and tried new cables. The hori controller controls ps5 through the hub no problem but nothing on the wheel. My process is plug hori in, then wheel, then usb to ps5, then my wheels display says “USB NOT CONNECTED”
Are you having any issues? I’m wondering if it’s hard wear or soft wear problem. I’m really struggling to find a solution, I’ve tried contacting collective minds but they don’t get back to me

Setup up the config and run launch with PC, and can remote play on PC. The wheel controls the PS5. Remote Play can be played using any controller like normal, so the connected works.
