Very useful information. I would suggest placing a cloth towel under your mortar when working with it so that it doesn't scratch your counter top. It is afterall, a rock.

Hello dear, thank you so much for the detailed video.. I have bought this item and done the curing as shown by you step by step. But, unfortunately when I tried cardamom grinding it was having stone powder. What have I done wrong or is there anything more to do? If it doesn’t get fixed I wouldn’t be able to use it. Please reply. Thanks

Thank you for watching the video.
It sounds like the mortar and pestle set is not seasoned enough. I suggest you grind raw rice a few more times until you stop seeing grey residue in it.
      I hope it helps.

Thank you for the detailed procedure. As I know this should work.
However it is important that we buy the right quality if granite mortar set, isn't it? I am told that there are mortar sets made from.soft granite which will continue to shed fine dust every time we pound or grind something. I once bought a set not knowing this and eventually had to throw it as fine granite dust wouldn't stop getting mixed in whatever I ground. Could you please educate us if you know more about this?
This time I have bought a new set from.Coimbatire and I have been assured categorically that it is from.hard granite and after curing it will not shed any dust.
I will follow your method for curing and keep my fingers crossed.

Hi Sonali. Thank you for watching the video. I do not know about marble set as I have not used it. My suggestion is that You can try grinding Some rice and see if It is accumulating grit. If you see any grit in the rice go ahead and do the steps for seasoning.
