Instead of diluted soap water, you can also wash it with rice flour and water. And can skip the garlic if you don't like the smell or cannot be used in your home due to religious reasons. You can also use coconut oil if you are allergic to sesame oil. Since oil is applied all over this, it can attract dust much faster and will become sticky. So make sure you keep it in a place where there isn't moisture and it's dust free. I never use soap with my cast iron, clayware and stone ware. Tends to absorb it. Rice flour cleans quite well. Can also use cheap besan flour if it's too dirty. If you have wood fire ash (From non-toxic wood branches) can use that too.
Dust and stone particles mix in. Plus the stone will absorb all the food particles and will be difficult to clean. Smell also won't come off. Can skip the garlic though. The turmeric plus sun combo forms a layer of protection. So does the oil. Cast iron, clay ware and stoneware have crevasses that need to be clogged before use. Only time we don't clog the stoneware and clay ware is if we don't cook/pound masala in it. Like use clay ware to store water? No need to season it. Using stoneware to make yogurt? Just pounding rice+rice paste is correct. Wash and it's ready for making yogurt.
@@Tejiciousdelicacy You should. Else dust particles and stone particle will be in food. These steps will also strengthen the stone ware. Clog the pores so easy to clean. Clayware stoneware and cast iron need to be seasoned.
@@aquillae Def no. Use rice flour. Just a spoon or so mix with bit of water and scrub clean. Can also use besan flour. Keep a separate sponge that does not touch soap.
I'm almost finished with the seasoning. It's looking good. Thank you so much for posting. Where are you from? Do you need anything? Much love ❤ from a grateful heart.
@@Nikhil_Sahu_G For me I seasoned clayware and cast iron happily. I don't own stoneware yet. I like cooking so I am fine with it. But so many ppl don't even like to cook these days.

@shrutiscookingchannel 👍
as i recall instead of rice we used to use some tree leaves or grass to remove fine stone partices.
No. Pounding rice is best. It will also shake loose more of the fine particles. Also don't know what was crawling on the grass and leaves.
Thanks for detailed video.

Beautiful vid. I have a few questions...I am allergic to garlic and many 'hot' spices. What can I use instead? Is olive oil ok? Is lard ok?
Don't use lard. Can skip garlic no issue. Use coconut oil if you can't use sesame oil. It's cooling oil.
👌👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏🙏
