@@alphaomega8373 these are tried and true in the powersport world. Like pretty much the standard for 75% of motorcycle sound system so if they can hold up to vibrations and extreme temperatures from the environment then in a car reliability is a non issue.
Your wiring is so clean I wish mine could look this good! You guys are amazing hopefully you guys job is one of those “you never really work when you love what your doing” great job keep it up!
Great video!! I have the EVOX 800.4 And the first thing I noticed after 30 minutes of jamming was how hot it got..I thought my gain was too high but I guess that's just how these amps were designed.
Planning to get 1 also. Either 800.4 or 1200.4 but are they good for loud music?? Is it normal to get hot?? Well, heard some bad reviews on those amps.
Are they awesome? Need to power 4 deaf bonce speaker of 180 watt each. The 800. 4 gives around 140 watt rms per channel and will surely underpower those speakers. What are ur views on that Amp, do they make speakers screams??
The fit and finish of the wires is what I need for any and every amp application. These amps are what I need when I am ready to have power and clarity . Thanks for the video.
I have (4) of the 1st Gen Evo amps on my motorcycles. They have been great. These new versions have a bunch of issues. They were either released in a rush or the company knew and still sold them this way. The motorcycle audio community is in an uproar over this. Be cautious if you plan on buying one of the new EvoX models.
Do not use a 40 amp fuse on the 800.1. I sent back six of these due to that. We started using an 80 amp fuse and they don’t come back in to the bay. Our rep had one in his truck using an 80 amp fuse without issues. These would show up the next day when using a 40 amp fuse. So I highly suggest going more on fuse rating. Always go for max amp rating for fusing. Just my 2 cents.
7/17/hello is it true you're saying 80 amp fuse instead of the 40 I'm running the hertz 200 l on this amplifier and what is the problem with that thank you
The absolute best part of this video is the art of clean wiring. Excellent as always, Dean! I am curious if you can give any honest feedback as to the SQ capability of these? Are they pretty midgrade in SQ at least?
Are these still preforming ok? I want to use the 400 in my 2021 Can-Am commander. I was going to use 2 channels for the full range speakers and bridge 3 and 4 for a sub woofer....... what do you thing? Or do you have a link to such a setup
Hi Dean & Fernando can you guys do a video on how to set up the skar skv2-2500.1 I just updated to this amp & 2 evl- 10s with a new custom box can't wait for you guy's to here it but I need to set this amp
I have a 2018 CVO Street Glide, I just installed a SD evox 800.4 for my upper/lower fairing diamond audio mp654, SD evox 800.4 running my MS8NEO diamond audio on my lids and a SD evox 2400.4 running my DS18 PSW10.2D subs on the sealed and ported saddle bags, but having trouble setting the HKI mini dsp. any advice will help.
When using the amplifiers like the 4 channel pretty much all of them put out double the rms power at a 2ohm load why would we not go with 2 ohm speakers as long as the speakers can handle the wattage the amplifiers puts out? Another question for basically five star car stereo I've seen many places around me when running new speakers and an amplifier to the interior speakers do you run a new run to all four speakers because I seen a professional install run new wires just up to the wire harness that is behind the radio I know in some cases its hard to run through the doors through the wire seal in between the door n the car but is this something commonly done? obviously running from the am to the back speakers when in the rear deck lid you probably run new wires but is this something you guys do? And what about if you are running from an amplifier to a factory amplifier you cannot run an amp through another amp thanks for yourself input
I own the 4 channel. When I turn my car off and open my car door everything immediately shuts off except this amp. The power light stays on a whole extra 150 secs. Is that normal?
Question: does it matter that you crossed the power wire over the rca’s? Should I worry about rca’s picking up engine noise? I’m installing these on a motorcycle
Question I have an 800.4 evox and I have 4 80RMS JL 6.5 running of the evo and even with the gain less then halfway output she gets very hot, now you stated that they get hot and are designed to get hot, my question,, is it safe and will she get so hot that she will go up in flames?? I don’t want my Harley going up in flames😳, and all the wiring on the bike and amp are to specs, so even if the amp gets really hot it should be safe?? Could you please Advice,,Thank you🙏
Hello. Just started watching your videos. I have a Hyundai Kona. What do you think of the Sony GS4 amp for the door speakers? I have Kicker KS series installed. The older models with the huge crossover. Thank you
Hi @FiveStarCarStereoIncClearwater I got a quick question. I have an amplifier in a trunk running 8 inch woofers in the doors of my 05 Mustang. I want to drive the door upper and rear speakers (currently 5x7). The problem is passing another wire trough the doors would be a nightmare cause of this factory wires flange. Can a factory wire handle about 60-70 RMS? I would place a small 4 channel amp behind the radio or near the kick panel (like the Soundigital 400.4 or the Alpine KTP-445U) and pass the output back to factory harness. Wouldn't a D-class speaker be a problem for mid and high speakers? Or is the entire idea a bad solution.
It's not stated most of the time because this video is up sometimes for years before a random finds it and saying a price will bring out trolls or people who don't know it's an old video. Plus after a while availability may be hard or non existent. So a price on the video would cause confusion and unwanted hatred. I have heard of a website called google. They're usually up to date with knowledge.
For sure hey. I've asked on a previous video and he said what I said so. I figured save hime and you some time. I do think there is a comment that does say the prices as of now. Have a good day.
If they can squeeze that much power in such a compact size, how the hell do modern head units STILL only produce around 20 watts rms per channel, even without the cd player portion?
Anyone answer a question for me? I have 2 amplifiers and am I ok to run them to two seperate ground points in the car as there is no ground point close enough to join them both to the same point. There just seems to be mixed reviews online. Many thanks
Yes that’s absolutely not a problem. It used to be better to have ground wires be as short as possible, so installers wouldn’t bother using a shared ground point for multiple amps.
So glad I subscribed. I got emergency questions. I'm looking for a 5 channel amp. What do you recommend and which would you recommend between. Diamond Audio and Arc audio 5 channel amps. I know the watts are different but I'm looking at roughly 5 brands Audison, Diamond Audio, JL Audio, Arc, Fosgate , Audio Frog and Focal. Price difference on all of them but I'm leaning towards Diamond Audio. Is it worth the price?
I like your attention to detail. This is splitting hairs to some but My 1 complaint on your channel is that you guys do a great job keeping things neat and clean but to often, have no problem adding a connection like a speaker tap/plug as if it has no effect on the final product. ("resistance is futile" on a speaker line, it is critical in sound. Also with vibration in a car, less connections are always better.) Any installer should avoid more connections/connectors, mostly but not limited to speaker wires whenever possible. Also it's nice to keep factory speaker wires, but running new wire is usually a higher quality option. (this has always been the case but obviously not always a necessity.) ferrules look awesome but are usually bad quality and don't matter if your system is cheap to begin with. But should never be used on a high end install. Maybe (up for debate) tinning your speaker wires with a high quality solder is a similar result without really adding another connector? I'm not saying anyone is doing anything terrible wrong here. Just adding food for thought in any installers mindset. Other than that, great job guys. I love your info. It is so awesome your doing this for us to see. I have always enjoyed seeing how others do it and different ideas. I hope it is paying off for you guys.
Do any fellow bassheads in the comments have any amp/subs just laying around that they can let go of for cheap? I have very little money due to my living situation but I can always try to hustle something up!.anything would work at this point because I only have a factory radio in my car/house....tanks in advance and God bless
The powebox 65.4 is 65w rms x4 vs 66w rms x4 and the amp is about the size of a dollar bill, the 400.1M is slightly smaller and isn't really in the same league as the sound digital mono, but can run it at 1, 2 and 4 ohms. Granted these sound digital amps are a more advanced/elagant option with the clip indicator and much nicer look. Are they available in the uk market?
So I was looking into these for my street glide, but ended up with 2 focal 6.900 instead. Im going for decently loud but more on the sound quality side of things. So I have a question for you guys...... focal fdp 6.900 manual says that each input has a peak limiter to prevent clipping. Are you familiar with this? And what exactly does that mean? If the amp sees any kind of clipping it rolls back the input signal? I cant get a straight answer on exactly what it does. Any help would be great if you familiar with it. Love the channel! Tons of great info
Really nice for it's size ,I have the 400.4. These models are discontinued but still available on some sites. They are now renamed 400.1 evox2 , no 800.1 but they now have 1000.1

I can't wait for Bid D to test these!

Finally Brazilian amps! These amps are monsters! Im currently running a soundigital 3000.1 and a 5000.1 and they are amazing.

Is these amps really loud and sound good. I be using stetsom amplifier

Thanks, Dean and Mr Lopez!

Can you make please a Video for the 600.4 Evo 5?
Im not Sure buying 400.4 or 600.4.

Is it OK to bridge 2 ports and hook 2 tweeters on 1 port and run at 2 ohm load??

Could you say what 8in sub is in the system and do you like these amps better than the audio control
Thanks love the show

Good Morning, you guys are amazing settong this system.
Have you guys work on Harley davidson?
