Most overlooked, underrated game of the entire series. It connects so many storylines. It should of definitely been ported to PS4 along w/ Black Flag.

Joshua Dowey Shay betrayed nobody. Assassins betrayed the creed when they have attacked citizens when Achilles corrupt all colonial brotherhood. All masters assassins don't care about people especially Hope who use gangs for stole and attack innocents (sorry if my english is bad ).

Joshua Dowey Achilles would never have sent Shay there if he had known it would cause thousands to die. If Shay had just explained what happened to Achilles, he would have had the Assassin's protect the artifacts so the Templars couldn't do the same. Templars don't give a damn who they have to kill to rule the world.
The irony is that Shaw was more of an assassin than his brothers. "Stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent","Hide in plain sight" and "Never compromise the brotherhood" are tenants of the creed and they broke them all. Shaw broke the last one to fullfill 2 of them.

From the First Assassin's Creed game till Odessey...I'm yet to find a better character than Shay Patrick Cormac!!!
At this point of time, Shay , as an assassin, cared for his brotherhood and was a really good man. But as he trusted the brotherhood, Achilles' ignorance towards what Shay said and for his own profit,made Shay take lives of innocents,Shay never wanted it. His trust broke to the brotherhood. At that time, Achilles was just too careless. I am not saying the Templars are correct or they are the best. But Shay, for his own purpose joined the Templars, as shown in the trailer, Shay threw away the Templar sword and hidden the assassins blade and used a gun to kill the assassin,to show that he is doing it for himself. At first when Shay joined Templars,i did not like him,but i got to understand him. After that,Achilles learnt this mistake,then he got to train Connor, another assassin who got straight into action, to protect the world "Because,no one else would do it". He killed the templars one by one,including Haytham,who he understood later,then he said,that he misunderstood Haytham. That is mentioned in Assassins Creed Forsaken. These things showed that the Assassins and the Templars, both had a point. Personally i know, Shay is a good person,who took a revenge of the betrayal of his trust. Connor and Shay both are my favorites. Because i got to know their points individually.
Shay never wanted revenge. He killed them to stop them from making earthquakes and destroying other cities.
Shay Patrick Cormac is undoubtedly among the greatest video game characters of all time and this is my my fav AC game among all...

Agreed, I got it when it came out, and have replayed it dozens of times, my favorite AC game by far.

Better than Altair? bitch please, no one is better than Altair, he is the one to stand against all evil. Alone. With out machiavelli , withour leonardo de vinci. He unfolded everything. He is the reason that this whole story line is proceeding. He is THE BEST Character in AC.

if only Shay was there with the later Templars. I reckon he, along with Connor could've attempted to bring the Assassins and Templars together, but no, Haytham had to ship him off on a wild goose chase that he never saw through. so much potential wasted

I'm guessing that Shay is right, maybe Achilles is not really a good assassin mentor at all.
When I see templars I see the older generations, structure and order... and assassins as the reckless/rebellious younger generation. I thought I'd give this game a try because you play a Templar and I always felt I liked their ideals better. I didn't really like the beginning but after his speech on the cliff and after his style change it was like everything fell into place, he was so awesome. His ideals, his looks, clothes... just makes you fall in love with the character. By far my favorite ac game. I really hope they either remake and make it longer or make another templar game... preferably with old mechanics (no levels, assassinations always kill) and story style, Odyssey was such a weird part of the series, unbelievably beautiful game, but meh story, not really an assassination based story anymore.

At that time assassin's they've had turned wrong(to much grab for power),and I've now see why Achilles didn't want to train Connor first time cuz it a little bit of fear it will happen the same thing exactly as Shay.

Why people hate Shay and this game I will never know! I only wish it was longer it really deserved it, if they were so bothered about Unity they should’ve put Rogue on hold and come back to it

Played them all up to this so far, really enjoyed this one, loved them all but I think this had some real emotional weight to it, as always I think they could have gone a bit further, I think they hold back a little
sometimes I feel like shay is real and with him, so many energies as a character so are it possible to feeling someone from watching virtual creations as character

you know I played all the ac games accept for the chronicles but this game has such a wonderful story background to it usually the games I played I didn't feel it what they were feeling but shay its different see shay didn't want anymore innocence dead so he made a choice joining the templars but hes also an assassin so basically he made his choice

The assassin’s aren’t the good guys, and the Templars aren’t the Bad guys.
They're just people fighting for their ideals
This game showed all of us that in the end neither the Assassins or the Templars are truly evil they are both capable doing great harm and creating peace.
Shay was more assassin than Achilles ever was, he follows the creed more than the entire pre-Connor American brotherhood.

Not at all. Throughout the campaign, it's clear how Shay comprehends that The Order of the Knights Templar was right all the time. That also gave him more will to hunt down the Assassins...
I honestly think if he could have taken the assassins out by himself, he would have. He needed to side with the templars in order to do what he wanted. Kind of a "my enemy's enemy is my friend" And then he figured they were nice to him and in generel along the way.

Wait a sec...Connor...they meant native Connor or Achilles's son Connor ? Because Achilles's son Connor died before the American revolution and native Connor was the one that fought in the revolution. So that means Connor had already destroyed the Templar's in America when Arno's father got killed by Shay which would be cool to see Connor and Arno join forces to fight Shay.

Not all Templars are downright bad, but there are some who use the hidden blade and wear the hood but didn't choose to live by the Creed.

Shay is my favorite of all Assassin's. He stuck to the original creed, and made the choice to save humanity instead of beating the Templars. Honorable, true, determined, self-sacrificing, and a warrior to the end

A lot of my friends that like this series think Shay is a terrible assassin. Here's my argument: Shay knew that meddling with the Precursor items was causing the death of innocents. He believed that the Assassin's should be protecting and safeguarding the items so the Templars could not get their hands on it, which is what Altair, Ezio, Edward Kenway, and the true assassin's creed laid out. The others made a mad dash for access to that power and violated the Creed. A true holder to the Creed. Well done Shay. You fight with honor and resolve.

Altair would hate the american assasins(not connor) in ac revelation one assasins tell altair that abbas uses thief,and murderes to become assasins
in ac rogue Hope use thugs as well, Altair values self taught and Shay did this with imense guilty ,as achiles and liam didnt uses his brain to ask himself why shay did that , achiles and liam at the end knew that shay was correct and never apologize
Assassin's Creed Rogue is the most underrated Assassin's Creed game, in my opinion.
The assassin's became bad in ac rouge but they became good in ac3?why is that
Well...Shay killed almost everyone in the colonial Brotherhood, the only one left was Achilles. At that time, the Brotherhood got a little lost, they went astray.
In AC Rogue, all the assassins trusted Achilles and followed him, only Shay questioned his methods and did what he felt was right. Achilles wanted to reach the precursor sites before the templars at all costs, and he didn't even believed in Shay, when he said that messing with this precursor sites would destroy cities and kill innocents.
Although Achilles trained Connor in AC3, I don't think they shared the same ideas.
Connor wants to protect the people just like Shay. That's why in AC 3 the assassins were good.
In my opinion, Achilles was a broken man in AC3, and I think he regretted how things ended.
