Bayek, Connor, Altaïr they all deserve the Ezio treatment, but Ubisoft doesn't give a shit. He made the greatest sacrifice and of it, came the greatest brotherhood that history had ever known, his creed was written in blood and tears. What more could you want?
It's powerful that a game actually binds you to the cause of its protagonist. I felt Bayek's rage throughout every assassination, every minor kill. By the end, I had realized the never-ending cycle of violence that Bayek's quest for revenge had set him on was unhealthy and did not honor Khemu. What a great ride that story was.
Odyssey does have a good story. It was definitely a step down but the family storyline was very good. The mercenary part is a bit different, but Kassandra had is really rough. Civilians would go out of their way to attack her if a fight broke out with her involved, at least in the game. Canonically, the novel is a bit different and is more grounded. I played Alexios though. Really another champ that suffered from bad writing, both of them.
Odyssey’s story is so poor compared to origins’, origins had some of the strongest acting through the AC series and arguably some of the best out of all videogames. The story was also very enjoyable and much better than most we’ve gotten in this generation.

I had so much empathy for him and I wanted him to succeed in his quest. I liked every single minutes I played him, AC Origins was such a great adventure, even now i still love playing to this game with this character !
Beautiful work! A great and deeply inspired tribute to the timeless tragedy and a modern masterpiece of AC Origins. That line, about Bayek of nothing, father to nobody, is the key to understanding the story about a person that can not save neither his child nor his homeland, no matter what he does, the ultimate journey of failure in the face of time and in the end, a kind of triumph over it. As he can't turn back the history, can't rescue his son and can't rekindle the flame between him and his wife, both being devastated by loss and revenge and driven too far apart. But he can turn all of it into a strength and vision to save and help his people. I always find it odd how underappreciated the writing and the story of this game are. Thank you so much for reminding me of that journey!
