Legend of Mana is so good it doesn't need a 3d remake

True. The original Legend of Mana had a fantastic art style and works much better in 2d. I'm happy they stuck with 2d. However I do feel the art style of the remake is weird though. In the original game everything looked fine, like everything was supposed to exactly look that way. In the remake though, it looks like they weren't sure how to upscale everything. They chose to make the sprites low-res pixel art, but they gave the backgrounds a hi-res hand painted art style instead. That doesn't work together. I think they were going for a hand painted art style in the original game, and the low resolution was simply a result of the limitations of the Playstation at the time. They should've made the sprites hi-res hand painted as well in the remake to make the art style coherent. Maybe that would've been too much work for just a remake, or perhaps they were afraid it would take away from the nostalgia factor. Probably a bit of both. In any case the clashing art styles of the remake don't make any sense in my opinion.
Now Vision Of Mana on the way, Squeenix has raised the bar yet again. Loved Trials of Mana remake!

In Europe, Final Fantasy Adventure was called Mystic Quest, as "Final Fantasy" was virtually unknown there until FF7. In conjunction with Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (which in Europe was called Mystic Quest Legend), they seemed to want to have marketed "Mystic Quest" as a brand.
I tried to look up Mythic Quest many times and the only results I find are of games that bear absolutely 0 resemblance, as if another game was released under the same name that completely overshadowed and makes the original basically unfindable.
@@DreadKyller MYSTIC, not Mythic. As I said, Mystic Quest was the name Final Fantasy Adventure/Seiken Densetu 1 (the first game in the Mana series) was called in Europe. Incidentially, one of the first games released on Nintendo platforms that was actually localized into many different languages, including German.

Came here for footage of Friends of Mana and Circle of Mana. Too bad you skipped those games. It would've been nice if you explained how Adventures of Mana is yet another remake of Seiken Densetsu 1 and how it differs from the earlier remake Sword of Mana. Like how in Sword of Mana they've changed a lot about the original game to make it more like 2, 3 and Legend of Mana to make it tie in better with the rest of the series, but how in Adventures they chose to ditch all of these changes in favour of a remake more faithful to the original game. Other than that great video. Nice and short. I like to see what games were in the Mana series, what they looked and sounded like and how the series evolved. For more detailed information about the reception and development and such of the series I just have to look elsewhere.
Forget the others, sword of mana I can’t wait to get back!

Secret of Mana and Legends of Mana were definitely the best ones. I hope one day we will get a Legends of Mana 2. :)
A Legend of Mana 2 will never happen because Children of Mana is the Sequel to this.
After the Realm of Mana was recreated after defeating the First Goddess, the Manatribe appears and has to choose two of them to keep the Sword and the Tree and also the whole realm save and sound.
Randi was the last KNOWN Manatribe born of this traditional happen. His Mother was a Tree maiden and his Father the chosen one to keep the world save and by using the sword.
The last KNOWN Treemaiden was Fuji/Helena/Elena from Final Fantasy Adventures (Mystic Quest or Adventures of Mana or Sword of Mana) she and her Mother belongs to Randi as his daughter and his wife. What really happened to him was never told.
Another fact Secret of Mana is a Pre-Sequel to Mystic Quest is Julius Vandole, the Son of the deceased Imperator Vandole who has been defeated by the Gemma-Knights, appears as the main-antagonist. Gemma (Jema in Remake) have been mentioned they defeated Vandole by using the sword.
It's a fact only Members from Manatribe, or Tree/Fairy/Goddess Chosen ones can handle the sword.
Gemma was a Member of this family. A Theory, since we know more about the appereance of Serin (Randis Father) is that Gemma could also be related to Randi. Maybe the Brother of Serin and this would make him an uncle to Randi.
After all:
It is possible Randi has started family with a unknown woman. Prim as possible Mother to Fuji can't work. Her Eyes are may be blue but her ears are pointy. The Mother of Fuji appears with normal ears. She should be a normal human who was chosen by the last Members of the Tribe to be Randis Wife and become the next Goddess and the next Tree.
Fuji talked to her mother's spirit after Julius Vendole was defeated by Sumo.
She said Fuji wasn't truly able to protect the Manatree but was, like her, a seed to become the next Tree. Fuji told Sumo she was the Last of her line. Randi has been allready the last of HIS line. But it seems he was able having a successor instead of his mother.
Legend of Mana is chronological the FIRST Story of Mana.
The Goddess herself choosed Shiloh and Serafina to create the World by scratch! (You playing god in this game... you can chose nearly every place for your artifacts. Shiloh means "Heavenly Peace" and Serafina is derived from the seraphim a high ordered angle.
:P Well It won't happen we gonna have another Legend of Mana. Because there could be only ONE Legend of Mana.

I didn't realise there were so many mana games. I played secret of mana as a kid and at the time the sequels were only in Japanese.
Final fantasy adventures is my first game on my gameboy color in my elementary days and I'm very happy they release a remake on android now i'm going to download trials of mana on steam later after my office work.

A really good example how 2D graphics can be superior to bad 3D graphics, when its well done. The SNES games look so much better than all these low poly 3D games.

Never knew Sword of Mana and Adventures of Mana were remakes of Final Fantasy Adventures. I always thought Sword of Mana was the only prequel. And there was also Collection of Mana.

The first three are amazing. Sword of Mana is also pretty good remake similar to Secret of Mana. The rest are meh for me.

For my information, i havent play or any idea in all mana series games, but legend of mana was familliar of me, and I thought it is just a only one game but i wrong. I only played wayback in 2009-2010, which is a sword of mana from my gameboy sp. Maybe im gonna wait for the remake of it.
