One book that always stood out was a book from the the early 2000s. The book was called "A Million little pieces". Although controversial because the author embellishes a couple details (or flat out lied) in the book to make it a better story. To me it was a great story and following up on it years later the book had impacted millions of people to stop drinking or seek help. Going back and seeing what it did for people to stop drinking and taking pills after all the years after the controversy is amazing to me

Oh yea, I remember that book. I had forgotten. That book did get a ton of press back in the day. Thanks for mentioning that one!

Thank you, Amber. I ordered 2 of these today. Interestingly, I ran across this video in which you mention Russell Brand’s book. I stumbled upon his videos recently and have found them helpful. He has had such a transformation of his own. I’m very interested in his recovery book. I also ordered the House on Stilts book in hopes that another mother’s journey can help me with mine.

Excellent video. Just what i was looking for. 😊 I'm thinking about getting a certificate and wanted to submerge myself in the drug and alcohol books.
I wonder if any of these books will be use in class.
If anyone knows what books they use in school let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
(My only suggestion would be to let the images of the books 📚 a little longer.)

You're right I have to check out Annie because yeah people don't understand oh you just have to quit drinking or quit using I mean do they not realize that we as addicts or alcoholics too even though hell this s*** is the same thing anyways you're right I realize how uneducated people are about this s*** and I cannot stand that approach because I don't understand why people think that we can just stop and of course we're our own worst enemies so we think everything's wrong we are horrible on ourselves and I definitely want to check that out! Gosh girl I'm just right up there with you with this nerd thing and I love it I have read some amazing books too and I would love to share them with you cuz I feel like you're going into it with addiction but I've got some more that aren't but tie into edition that's cool and then I run the description girl that you have a sister and how one was an addict when was not sorry cuz I'm still watching the video but that is totally my story as well and we're so close together and I mean a girl I feel like you're a soul sister or some s*** I have got to reach out to you

Do you think you can beat it without human help? I honestly thought I could kick mine by myself, but I prove I can't every single day. I am now at a point looking for books in hope they will actually work, as there seems to be no help available unless it's all done under the government and recorded.

Hi Jonny, I think books are very helpful, but I do think you need some human help as well. It doesn't have to be clinical, but you need someone to be open with.

I love a million little pieces but I think a lot of people don't realize that that's actually not about the dude and that really upset me when it came out because I love that book I still read it so no shade of the butt I just wish people would be honest about it now because I remember when Oprah I think put that in her book club like I swear I was like maybe not even really a full blown addict then what I was a late bloomer I dabble but like whatever okay anyways I love that book still to this day but I just cannot stand that he still won't come to terms with eating right the book on his own and he actually stole someone else's story like that ass and that's my that is exactly how my crazy ass story is but it's got identity theft it's got all kinds how people have been deed flipping title flipping and all this shady ass weird s*** and I thought all addicts did some weird stuff oh no I would never do the weirdest stuff that's been done to me I mean people are horrible and I want to let everyone know and lessons and people know what in the world is going on I have had to literally you know I want to let the whole justice system now because I mean it's not only in this meltdown it's everywhere I mean I literally never lost custody of my daughter but boy and I had to fight for custody of my son after I lost the baby the father of my child and it was just insane oh yeah it's been years ago but I mean damn I mean these people even believe in them people try to get his child abuse thank God for that radiologist people are insane I don't understand why they're so rude and negative and mean like what gets them off on that I don't understand n

By the way if you can before I email you and if you get this I'm struggling so badly with my mother and my aunt is literally one of those uneducated people all over today but I don't know what is going on in the but my mother has literally I mean I'm 40 so you got to think about this I remember my mom drinking I mean you know what social acceptable right so you know just to wind down but now I mean she's physically dependent and I mean oh they just a little help no nobody's f****** helping her and here my position is more about her than this other people it's horrible! And I am to the point where I have got to detox her immediately I mean I'm talking immediately immediately and she is literally just turned 70 and I mean she's a very strong woman she I mean I literally see I mean you have to realize I've been so codependent and just enabling her and didn't realize just how enabling or actually I did I just freaking knew like that possibly she would have this aha moment but then again I'm like why would she have that? When I'm her daughter and she's still an activation like duh she's not going to do that...
