    Nicely put together and I really like the colors but sorry you broke a glass. I guess it demonstrates that the unexpected can happen so you got to be ready. Worth it in the end I think because you created a really nice image. You’re hard work is appreciated!

    Thought you might have a solution for how the replica studio table moves. I love the size but the movement makes comps hard sometimes

    Can you do a video or walk through of the gear you use for certain projects? Particularly, products. I am new to the game and the selections and choices are overwhelming. Maybe a vid of what a startup as a base would need for sure and then build out as time goes on. Any help?

    Thanks for another great video. Currently I am shooting with a shoot through umbrella. Would you add a soft box first or a strip box and what size? I am learning product photography and my strobe is a alien bee 400. I am ordering a 10 degree honeycomb grid this weekend.

      Hi Todd thank you. If you could only get one I would go with a rectangular soft box. You can always use it as a strip box and is a lot more versatile. I added my favorite soft box in the description of the video if interested on getting the same one

      @@skylerewingphotography thanks for the response as usual. Unfortunately that soft box uses a different mount than my strobe. I wish it didn’t because I like the price better than the one from alien bees…

      @@toddtucker323 might be able to find an adapter? Bowen mount lights and modifiers are more affordable and available in so many styles

    Are you going to make a video about your portable DIY table you use to place all your items on? would love to know more about it.

    Hi Skyler.
    Did my lighting setup same as you have done with strip box, and diffusion on one side but did add a white reflector opposite side of the glass. Enlarged my images and found there is a flair down both sides of the glass. Did mirror lockup, same result. Changed lenses, same result. Changed the subject to one of my lenses and there was not any flair....problem is the wine glass. Put the wine glass back as the subject but lowered the camera to be looking up from a low position and it did seem to correct the flair but not entirely.
    My best guess is the glass has a refraction on the inside of the glass while the reflection on the outside of the glass was somewhat transparent....????
    Looked online for images of wine glasses but it is likely those images have been post processed.
    Watching your video I did not see any flair with your images before post processing and with near identical setup's I am wounding why I got flair and you did not????
    Any suggestions would help.
    Thanks

      Did you use continuous light? Did you have a black frame to begin with? No light pollution?

    • @davidcole8812
      @davidcole8812 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@skylerewingphotography There was no ambient light bright enough to record. Yes I did do a no flash test shot. My guess is the position of the diffusion panel at 90 degree's to the wine glass is bouncing light off the glass and can be seen with a black background. Changing the position of the panel will likely solve the problem. Going to try it. Have been doing photography for decades, this is first time a problem like this, but that makes it more interesting. : )

    In the real world of product photography would it not be a multi-light setup? If you are doing catalog work and need to do many items the one-light method would be too slow. It is good Photoshop practice and learning. I cannot imagine layer blending hundreds of images.

    • @skylerewingphotography
      @skylerewingphotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you are right. I would use 5 lights, 3 scrims. Two lights in strip boxes behind, two in sides and one back high. The reason why I chose to do one light is because subscribers asked for less gear setup as they don’t have a lot of lights and such. Wanted to show them that you can do anything with less gear and more work:)
