    Think the colour of the lampshade is a bit off-putting. Reckon completely covering it with the scraps would make it look more finished. Everything else was perfect :D You inspire me so much

    Mr Carrington sent me.. :). I wanted to say that I like the backside of your splatter pot best. I think you should splatter the front more as well. Lastly I think you should pull the stuff off that lamp shade and use the rest of that fringy vest to make the lamp shade fringy as well. It would tie into your wall hanging. Love everything you do :)

    I like the lamp shade. I think if you had just used the fringe and that sparkly strip that it would have looked more cohesive.

    Hermione are you kidding me your lamp shade is en pointe mixed media I love it! The only thing to my eye that may look slightly off is the original fabric/cover/colour....but what you applied saved it x
    Everything else you created is amazing too 😊 💯💯

    I found that exact same shaggy vest yesterday at a yard sale. Bought it for a dollar. I'm going to make the wall hanging. I thought of you when I saw the vest but had no idea that it was the exact same vest until I looked again at your video. Thank you for the inspiration. Hugs...

    I loved the lampshade. I think the upgrade gave it a sort of bohemian vibe, but try covering it entirely with different textured fabric.. But nevertheless.. I still love the lampshade.

    The lampshade looks fun it gives off more of a summer and spring vibe also try adding something consistent because with so many inconsistent fabrics it needs something to tie it all together maybe tassels all around the bottom or something

    The idea you had with the tooth brush splatter on the planter gave me an idea to do a DIY on a canvas. As far as the lamp shade goes, its how it makes YOU feel that matters. I think you should have made it in layers all the way around (just my idea). The woolie vest looks so SONNY & Cher type.

    Def. anthropology worthy, you might want to paint the bottom of the pot a similar but different green to compliment your other flower pot and to add contrast to the naturally reddish tone of the unpainted part of the pot.👍

    I love everything you do, and I enjoy thrift and diy the most, especially in combination. About your doubts with the lamp: it looks gorgeous, but I think what irritates you is that the structure / texture of the underground is to fine. So the opposite to the patches is to strong. Perhaps closing the gaps or beginning anew with changing the underground first might help. I wish you all the best with your work for the house.

    I love the combination of scrap fabrics u used on the lamp shade!! maybe using some bigger chunks would hav helped? like having variation in texture AND SIZE? maybe?? I hope?..
    and the cushion... omg that tassel is BOMB and looks so doable.. even my crappy hands could (probably) so it!!!!!

    • @sendieloo
      @sendieloo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seven petals held by my heart I agree! I’d pull off what you have and just re-arrange them on the shade! Maybe practice with the pieces putting them in different positions to find what you like the best then glue it on. Don’t forget to take a picture for reference!

  • @pamsudsbear2612
    @pamsudsbear2612 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love everything, especially the wall hanging...so simple yet awesome! But that lampshade is...well, not good...lol. BUT, I do like the idea of the different textures, & the materials you used work well with the lamp. The only thing I would have done is wrap the strips of different materials all the way around the lampshade, rather than in patches. Each layer being different, with the fringe one a few layers up, not on the bottom. That would look amazing! Otherwise everything is lovely! New subscriber here, & am loving your channel!

    Regarding the lamp shade: the idea was nice, you did well enough with the materials at hand, but I think the concept may have been a bit hard to execute because of the different textures. It has Anthropologie vibes for sure, but up close it looks a little jumbled. I don't doubt that if you decide to make another one, it'll come out excellent. Maybe consider that one as practice. Either way, as always, awesome content and ideas, Hermione. Thank you!👍👍

    try covering any remaining actual lamp parts with plain white fabric! or even just paint it white. i think there's just too much going on, doesn't seem cohesive. but with a white background all the scraps will seem more connected and not so random :)

    Currently binge watching all of your DIYs. Couldn't help thinking that you could have just threaded the dowel through the vest as it had little squares, and not bother with glue at all; plus, it would have made more of a feature of the wood. Great idea, though!
