you are forgeting the invicible giant mech slugs, dogs that rip your eyes out (no seriously am I the only one that allways has eyeles people), random roaming packs of beavers that are literally EVERYWHERE really where did you come from I'm in the middle of the god dam ocean *deep breaths*, illnesses that can kill anything and anyone you ever loved in -10 seconds , wind turbines that don't work beacuse there is that one god dam tree just at the edge of there range that no one ever gets around to removing *deeper breaths*, those ship parts that make every one go insane but you can't break beacuse you know there is some slug with a big ass gun waiting to rip everyone to shreds *blood pressure rising*, random structures built into every hill you see that have a bunch of sleeping pods that ether contain sleeping assassin's with guns or giant death slugs, just those god dam mech death slugs really why are they allways there why... they just never die like really they can take like 9000 bullets and step through 19 spike traps brake through 6 iron doors and then walk right through 16 turrets (assuming your electrical system didn't short out)*blood pressure vary high*, and Randy god dam Random that mother FUCKER, (Randy decides what to do next) "ya I'll just light your house on fire while sending a pack of 900,000 raiders to your house, also your electrical grid just shorted out. oh ya I forgot your doctor has the pleuge, and everyone has aids" seariusly I hope you random AI story teller DIE. *aneurysm*
A bit of a tip because it seems like you're having a hard time with the Mechs : Sniper rifles. They don't have the range so you have to stay as far back as possible.
Socializing with your crew actually has a chance to give you really good benefits. For instance, an AI hologram (those are in this mod) gives you random tips on how to play, a Zoltan (the glowey energy guys) can generate extra energy to give you a few bits of fuel, Mantis (the fighty bug ones) reveal that they're pregnant and give birth to a new crew member, and a Lanius (the spikey guys that suck oxygen out of whatever room they're in) reproduces if you give it around 67 scrap to give you an extra crew member.
I want to see a game like FTL but with capital ships... obviously it would need a new UI so it would be easier to manage a few hundred people, but i think the end result would be really fun.
Dealing system damage when the system is already red doesn't 'keep the system down' as you're assuming, it doesn't damage the repair progress at all so it's best to fire at a different system rather than a red one.
As someone who has spent way over 100 hours in FTL and most of those in captains edition some parts of this video hurt. Like watching you sell that requisition license. I was screaming at my scream but you could not hear

It adds a lot of stuff, sure, but it makes the game unbalanced and overly cluttered, plus the events are badly written and the changes aren't that well designed. It's certainly an impressive feat of modding but the definitive way to play FTL is just... FTL with AE installed.
