    Hey guys! Just wanted to apologize for the bad sound on this video. It was a very strong windy day so had to cut out a lot of the talking. We hope you still enjoy our Hakodate adventure.
    We are halfway through TH-cam Next Up Boot Camp. We would like to apologize again for not being able to answer all your comments in a timely manner until we get through this busy period. We do promise you lots of behind the scenes footage of the bootcamp itself and what we experienced.
    Thanks and huge hugs from Shinichi, Satoshi, Mother and Justin!

    Thanks for sharing the beautiful footage of your trip with us. I love stroopwafels; they're especially good if you set them on top of a warm drink for a bit, as the caramel becomes gooey.
    Gambatte with the bootcamp. Wishing you both the best.

      @TabiEats  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! That's a great suggestion. We'll try to do that for you in the future. How long from Tokyo? Now that's a difficult one because this trip is a continuation of our Hokkaido adventure. We started out in Tokyo and took 2 days to get to this place. You can watch our Tokyo-Hokkaido Playlist. The videos are in the order that we experienced. Not all of the videos are out yet though so stay tuned!

    Why are there so many western-style buildings in Hakodate (even the building that looks like a church)? Do you know the history to that? I agree, Hakodate is so beautiful! Snuffles sounds/looks like stroopwafles (Dutch thin waffles with sticky syrup in between).

    • @TabiEats
      @TabiEats  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      As one of the first Japanese harbor cities to be opened to international trade after the country's era of isolation, there's a lot of influence from overseas. Motomachi includes many former residential buildings that housed the foreign population at that time.

    I felt Hakodate was kind of empty of people. A town of almost 300'000 inhabitants, but still so empty. Felt like a ghost-town to me. With LOTS of chinese tourists at some spots. Impossible to see the view because of that. Nice-looking town though.

  • @robrosy
    @robrosy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Beautiful place indeed but seems very European compared to the rest of Japan? Not sure if there's a historical reason for that? By the way high 5 from a fellow chai latte drinker. :)

    • @TabiEats
      @TabiEats  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      From a chai latte drinker, thanks for watching! This was a port town that was open to trade so I think that's the reason for the European atmosphere.
