Hi Nick and Helmi - thank you for sharing your travel experiences in Hokkaido! Your videos are so helpful and beautifully made. I love that you explain everything and share your food! I want to ask you both - what is the best way to layer up and dress for the winter in Hokkaido? Like you guys, I am coming from Australia and our winters (especially in Sydney anyway) don't get anywhere as cold as Japan. Do you have any tips on the best clothing items to bring and how to stay warm?
I would def go to uniqlo here and get the pants and shirt heattec - one layer is enough and then you get a long sleeved layered on top and pants. For the jacket i advise going to places like northface and kathmandu and get a thermal jacket, gloves. My main concern is getting a proper snow boots - we bought ours in tokyo in a store in ginza. We also went to hokkaido around end of jan and early feb where the winter snow is at its peak too
@@nickandhelmi thanks for your reply and the snow boots are a good idea.. I never would have thought of that one! Will definitely check out uniqlo before I leave😊
@@pluebi i still slipped though especially the snow that froze into icicle thats crazy dangerous but most of the part is just the powdery snow which is fun
Hokkaido is so pretty.. wow they get a lot of snow! But man, what an amazing experience! I need to eat that burger hehe.. so much good food! 2 nights and you guys saw a lot there too!
Thank you for this informative and beautiful video. I have watched some of your videos and really enjoyed all the information. You guys are so beautiful together. ❤ subscribed
Just wow what a great vlog on Japan so much to see and do…The food looked absolutely delicious wherever you went. Thanks, you can help me great video❤❤..x
I never like travel vlogs because i prefer when people show off less well known spots in their home city, but you guys made this video such a joy to watch. I think you might have convinced me to try uni when i’m in japan..
Hokkaido and Hokodate looks amazing, thanks for sharing your experiences. Would love to go there one day. You guys didn't get to soak in an onsen whilst you were there? That would have defrosted you both 😊
Love the video. But sorry guys, I tried the burger at Lucky Pierrott and I wasn't sold on it. A few other youtubers also recommended it. On the other hand, loved the kaniman and the Keisendon at the morning market.
How do you pay for the tram? Tap just when you leave or in and out? Because in the busses in Kyoto you only tap when leaving. But since here the tram has a tapper on the rear I was wondering. Or how would you know in general what you have to do to pay?
Unfortunately that’s probably due to America having a lot of chemicals in everything where as Japan probably more natural choice for food and less chemicals
I love Hokkaido it is so lovely and peaceful, especially when it snows
I’ve been roasting away in the Australian summer. That snow looks glorious.
Hehe 🤣, yah loving the snow!
Epic travel guide, guys! Know how much you two love Japan and it shows through your enthusiasm
Love it! I love how you narrow down the places and go to eating places. Def will follow this itinerary for my visit next week
A perfect travel guide!
It is wonderful to introduce things such as what local people are eating from famous places.😊
Was lucky to be in Hakodate in January this year, hopefully I can travel back there one day to see a few more of the places in your video. Arigatou
