I have a dark past with the toxicity of the community, I am currently working on the final ongoing collection of the absolute best 999 characters loaded by series in one download that has taken at least over 4 months of time just so that people can check out the very best the workshop offers

@@HM-zv9gc Lol, only way that's happening is if you have like hundreds of dollars to pay for the commission of art, coding, music, stage, etc. Also Bar-Kun has already made Kequing, so you should just buy the hit video game rivals of aether, giving dan fornace your money, and just enjoy workshop online or something idk

I absolutely love the mix of high quality characters among more silly stuff. I would love to see more! Especially characters who seem like they're a joke but then have a real moveset lile Cheese Wheel
Try out characters like Speedrunner Link, Untitled Goose, Nonsense, and Wii with a Gun, they're all fun characters based on memes and jokes but are all viable in their own right!

I remember that time someone made a Jerma mod for this game, which then became tournament-legal in Genesis 8, and then all of top 8 was entirely filled with Jerma.
That Pikachu’s got Royal guard, Joker’s persona meter, Junpei’s base ball system, and Happy chaos’s bullets and meter dudes cracked

One thing the base nodding character is called Sandbert, and people keep only switching out his sprites and put that on workshop horse specifically was a version that had it's neutral special switched out with creator Muno Gokus neutral special.
It was actually munophone sandbert, the sandbert you use to get munophone at ur character

Devil may cry series: Dante’s royal guard style
A quick summary on it, you can block attacks to charge the meter, and deal a powerful attack (release) that depletes the entire meter. The more it’s charged, the strong the attack. You can also parry an attack, which is more risky than a normal but charges the meter even more, and I believe you can release immediately after a parry, which would deal even more damage
For a better understanding of this move, go look up DMC 5 videos of killing bosses with only royal guard, it’s stupid good

Glad you enjoyed your time with all the mods here, especially the stuff I had a hand in (I was one of the devs for the Bandana Dee, Ganondorf, and Whispy Woods mods that they played during this video). It'd be fun to see you guys mess around with more of the massive pool of characters Workshop has to offer
Bandana Dee is amazingly well made, one of my absolute favorites :)
At 6:56 for Charge Shot as Cuphead/Mugman, you hold down the button to charge the shot for more damage. As he wasn't charging it at all lol.

You can drop Ganondorf's Trident onto the ground when you throw it if you press special again, it'll even stick to opponents if it hits them mid-fall!
Gigachad's gimmick is that he has to train the parts of his body by using different attacks. When one is fully trained, he'll get a boost to those types of attacks (imagine Byleth but you can buff his weapons).
Chesspiece CAN summon a different piece and switch places with it! Smash attacks summon a piece, and NSpecial changes which piece you're playing! DSpecial lets you use the second piece's FSpecial. Each piece has one! Hitting with pawns will charge the meter near the percentage. If it's fully charged, use FSpecial as a pawn to turn into a queen! The buff lasts for a while or until you use its FSpecial, a powerful diagonal beam.
Other than that, I reccomend you play N/A and Missingno. They're very fun and interesting.

Hey, guys. I almost never comment but I love this game SOOO much, please make more Rivals content.
Also, you guys should experiment with "runes". NO ONE talks about them but they are crazy fun. They are in the main game in Rivals next to story mode as "Abyss", and some workshop characters, such as that steve in the video, have runes if you turn on "Abyss mode" in the match settings. Give it a try!
Bro workshop abyss runes are some of the dumbest things. I've done a few workshop character runes, and boy they are absolutely stupid. Abyss is peak content, base cast and workshop, though esp basecast imo just because.

The Nintendo equivalent of Rivals is Brawl. Don't like the mechanics? Simply get a bunch of codes to make it play how you want. Hate the roster? Add everyone's favourite character Donate from DMC or toad, just toad. Stages? We have got those like final destination with a Lego and dead line (genuinely one of my favourite stages in a smash game)

My only concern with Rivals 2 is its workshop support. Sprite-based characters are way easier to make
But 3d ones are cooler. Dw friend, Rivals 1 isn't going anywhere
@@xareniannah the 2D artstyle gave Rivals a lot of charm. Sprites allow you to do things 3D can't replicate.
For those of you who doesn't play chess: A pawn can turn into ANY type of other chess pieces(except of course, a king), when they reach the end of the board by moving forward.

Yo I really like the idea of that chess character make puppets and they change control to them? Seems super sick
What they showed from Chesspiece was just the tip of the iceberg, honestly. Worth checking Zetta's video on the character, its moveset is so clever.
The concept is crazy, it's one of my fav characters from the workshop. You should also check out all the other mods by rubercuber, they're equally as good !
Every piece has different movement & weight stats. Each time you make a move, your character instantly transform into the corresponding piece.
- Front attacks transform you into the knight. (front tilt, front air)
The knight has very good air physics and a third jump, and can upB once without hitting pratfall. It's the more combo / movement oriented piece, and generally the piece you want to recover with. However the knight is also pretty light and struggles to move without jumping.
- Up attacks transform you into the bishop. (up tilt, up air)
The bishop has average movement but a VERY good wavedash. It's the neutral / ground piece, for me.
- "Commital" attacks transform you into the Rook. (down air, and dash attack)
The rook has insane ground speed, but poor jump height. It's also very heavy. Wavedashing with it is awesome but if you get thrown in the air you're a sitting duck. It's nice to win neutral thanks to the surprise burst speed you can have, but you'll generally transform into another piece for a followup.
- Every smash attack turns you into the king.
It's an heavyweight. Very good at surviving and pushing through stuff.
- Down tilt and back air are the pawn moves.
Being a pawn is risky. The only benefit is that you're tiny, otherwise, you have the worse movement except for the king. But the moves (down tilt and back air) are both extremely good.
- Finally, neutral air and jab are your "neutral" move. They're the only ones that doesn't switch piece. They have different range for each piece (the king Nair is very good).
This is step one of understanding chess. Know your pieces. Playing this characters require you to be very thoughful about which move you use, because you'll change characters every time. The upside is that you can change playstyle on a whim. Need to play a slower neutral ? The knight is very good at camping on platforms. Need sudden burst speed ? Just switch to the rook. If you had all the best stats of every piece combined, you'd be broken. If you can switch accordingly and always adapt to a new movement style, you can muster their strength.
But as I said, this is step 1. This character is incredibly deep and will make you feel like you're playing 4D chess while playing one of the fastest fighting game out there.
You then discover that each piece has a different side special. AND that you can leave pieces behind with your smashes. AND that you can switch freely between them. AND that you can call each piece's specific special attack from wherever they are using down special. AND there's also the pawn mechanic that can turn into the queen... AND you can hit your own pieces to make them explode.
This character is NUTS and crazy fun to play. The reason it's still fun even if it's complicated ? Imo, it's because the normals & specialsare kept simple. They're basic bash attack. If you don't optimize the piece switch mechanic, the character still works as an average brawler-type character, with intuitive combos. But if you dive into it... oh boy.
Btw I can make similar write ups for AT LEAST TWENTY rivals worshop characters. The modders are this good. And even the characters that are less deep & complicated can still be very very cool & unique plat fighter designs.
Check out RuberCuber's characters. Muno's are insane too. I also love blueblobgame's characters because they're incredibly animated. Many others to check out such as Peat, Monarch, Mycholich, Nade, the two hundred good pokemon characters, Mojibake & the creepy signs crew... This game goes FAR beyond dumb meme like ronald mcdonald. It's not mugen joke stuff. It's real. Several modders have made it into the official team for rivals. 4 characters were included into the official roster. A modded character will be included in rivals 2, they're holding a contest right now. The community is mad good.

So a lot of characters use Sandbert as a base. You’ll notice a lot of unfinished, or low quality meme characters will have some, or even all of his moves.
You should try the Black Hole stage. Really fun.
a bit of constructive criticism, ya should edit it to where vyQ and c5 are on different corners of the video (i’m not saying have both cams visible at once). the face cams was switching and i really wasn’t noticing too much
i agree, first time watching and I loved this video but I didnt realize that it was 2 different ppl in one corner for half of this. Most of the time I was watching the fight and glancing over at the person here and there until I saw a cut between the 2 different ppl midway through. I did hear 2 different voices just was wondering who was the one streaming at one point lol

I feel like the guardian should have been a guardian scout. (The smaller ones with blades.)
Or even terraco from Hyrule warriors age of calamity.
To be fair, Age of Calamity also has the Battle-Tested Guardian, which is a Stalker with a playable moveset. It even uses Cryonis to fling itself into the air like the Rivals mod, and I'm pretty sure it can call down that orbital strike too.
