I love how Neutral an Side Special are kinda references to DK64. And his Up Special is an important nod to Donkey Kong Country in general which is sadly missing in DKs moveset.

Generally I’m pretty unimpressed by the custom animations in these character mods. They lack a certain oomf and style that fighting game animations and animations in general thrive off of (I’m aware a lot of modders are not also animators so no hate). These animations though are really smooth. I’m not sure if they’re ripped from an already existing game, but either way they’re so well implemented. Props to developers

As you said they are not animators. Often they lack the understanding of stylized animation. They are missin exagerated movements, right timing in the animation cycles, and some more points. But the funky kong ones partially seem like they could be in the game ngl. The attacks are also missing smears (which are added via vfx). These make a HUGE deal

This Dude got Cloud Bair, Steve Glider combined with Inkling Roller, and Disjoints on all his attacks… Luckily his Disadvantage doesnt seem to be that great, so he cant get out of juggles that easily. Overall an interesting Build with some Top Tier Moves in Mind
His dash attack should be him spinning his surfboard under his feet like his hover in Tropical Freeze. It's a little too reminiscent of Donkey's dash attack at the moment.
His mods are always like that: everyone praises them for how "legit" they look but can't seem to realize how weird and unappealing the characters are as a whole

@@wilburforce8046 Wdym fluid? When I think of "fluid" I think of different moves comboing into each other. There are combos in this game like that... but they usually consist of like 2 moves each, and they usually start with a quick jumping normal like Link's Bair to start. The only other meaning I can think of are character specific items and hazards interacting with the rest of the character's move set. For example, Etalus in Rivals of Aether, he can freeze the floor and use the slippery ice to slide while charging attacks, and raise the damage to his smash attacks damage. Just take any character from that game, and you'll know what I mean when I say fluid.

Ridley’s two main tools in neutral (f-tilt and nair) kinda just sour spot bonk people off ledge. No bowser nair into bair. No dk cargo throw. No deedee Gordo into down B. Just le bonk. Ridley doesn’t even have “2 moves” in a lot of his gameplan which feels odd for smash.
The biggest thing that Funky Kong is missing is the roll-off ledge mechanic where you can land a jump for momentum off of the ledge. Top that with an extra jump outside of just having 2 then you have an authentic Funky Kong.
Just my opinion, i really love all this especially the surf moves. Something to make it more distinct would be to have Funky Kong use the boom box for the downward smash attack, instead of doing what Donkey Kong does slapping the ground, he could just bring out his Boom Box and his hand move over the volume control if held and cranks it up, the speakers booming being his version of the ground slapping move.
What if his run animation would be him riding on the flame runner/bowser bike from mario kart Wii, and it would be the second fastest run in the game (with sonic as the fastest)

Could you ask him to make a mod with these characters: - DK with super armor on the upside on his Up B - Kirby with faster run speed & air speed & air acceleration - Luigi with an Up B that you can also angle diagonally up left and up right - Zelda with a Fair en Bair that actually has a decent sour spot (or bigger sweet spot) - Dr. Mario with Mario Up b travel distance, and mario run speed & air speed & air acceleration - Pichu with less self damage - Marth with smash 4 tippers - Ganondorf with a side B that doesn’t put you in freefall - Mewtwo with more weight and a more fair tail hurtbox (like Smash 4) - Chrom with Roy Up B - Zero Suit with a Fair and an Up B that actually hits consistently - Diddy Kong that has an Up B that doesnt’t fall faster right after getting hit - King Dedede that has an Side B that opponent scan still bounce back, but that it would go though Dedede and not hit him at all - Lucario with a killthrow (like back throw or forward throw), and smash attacks with less startup frames - Robin that always has his strongests weapens and magic, no matter what - Bowser Jr. who doesnt take extra damage because of his cart - Cloud with Limit that lasts twice as long, and has a Finishing Touch that kills earlier (like in Smash 4) - Ridley that has an Up B that you can angle diagonally (so in 8 directions instead of 4). - Simon and Richter that has better air speed and acceleration, and has a Side B that doesn’t stop you momentum in the air - Piranha Plant that a Fair with less end frames and more knockback, a bair with less end frames, and a nair with less startup frames - Banjo & Kazooie with unlimited Side B’s That'd be very interesting and hype
