I agree. The first time I heard the term "ugly holiday sweater" it was for an office contest. I found it sadly offensive. I mean, these were sweaters someone originally took pleasure wearing.
I’ve had a camel/white and a forest green fingering yarn sitting in my stash forEVER. The white/camel knits up into a nice heathered fabric but it’s a little busy, so I’ve been struggling to find a project for it. I think I want to make a double-knit scarf with some pine tree or other super simple colorwork? Undecided. But maybe I will swatch up one of these sweater charts and see how it looks! 💕
I agree with you about hating that this has become a tradition. I actually still kind of love the holiday sweater I made in the 90’s. However, I LOVE the one you are wearing in this video. What is the name of that pattern?
My favorite is the tinsel one, but I also love the children's crew neck with garland. So cute!
These are delightful! 💖
Omg I want the garland sweaters for my entire family 😍😍😍
I hate the term too b/c I have always loved them
It’s a marketing ploy to get us to buy more disposable garbage

I have never understood calling them "ugly". I LOVE 99.9% of them! Some of the new ones are pretty ugly, but not the old ones. Love them!
All lovely suggestions but your Hinterland is my favourite 😁
Ha! So funny I didn’t think of this one as Christmas sweater when I made it but looking at it in the context it makes so much sense.

I’m making my first holiday sweater right now. The Betty & Judy Lodge Sweater by Poison Grrls ❤🎄
That’s a great one too!!

It’s the Hinterland, the link is in the description!
Do not like Christmas jumpers
