My favorite element is headbanging. When you're on an Arrow, or Vekoma, and your head gets bashed in, it's just pure bliss and it makes negative g stalls feel like a cobra roll in comparison.
I asked my very GP friends, and they all agreed that the pretzel loop on Superman was the best element on the ride. Even my 60 year old dad said that he found it enjoyable. I never knew people thought it was too much. I guess it's just a perspective thing.
@@EmeraldBayMovies same! And I don’t love positive either like I hate basically every pos G moment on Scream and Riddler when they’re running too fast. Feels like my skull is being crushed. But I love pretzel loops so idk, cuz those distribute it throughout your body imo
Ya I like pretzel loops but not Goliath's helix. I think alot of it is how you take the pretzel loops laying on your front and back as opposed to Goliath/Titan where you are upright when it happena.
the part in maverick where it speeds up in the tunnel is one of my favorite parts of any rollercoaster. it makes the usually boring second half of a roller coaster absolutely wild. and it also is shocking how fast u go considering the beginning of the ride is already kind of crazy
One of the reasons I really like Apollo's Chariot is the drop next to the lake before the helix really throws you to the side and up which gives some more variety to the ride.
I think a lot of enthusiasts underestimate theming. The reason why 10-20 million people a year visit a single Disney or Universal park is because of theming.
In my opinion, I quite like Cobra Rolls and they are very fun in my opinion. I never really experience headbanging and I find them so disorienting and that's what I love
One of my favorite elements is the Pretzel Loop. Another is the 89-degree drop going face-first on X². I think it's a unique element one only gets with 4th dimension coasters.
The last outerbanked airtime hill on wicked cyclone is absolutely lethal, but never sleep on the first airtime hill after the first turnaround. On rain rides, that hill gives me more air then any other hill I’ve been on. Rain rides on WiCy can seriously compete with SteVe.
Bruh regular rides on WiCy can compete with SteVe. I think SteVe is a little too long and a bit repetitive, but WiCy has about damn near a perfect layout, and it’s different and interesting the whole way through, and it has the same pacing and force as well
Honestly so true I ride this at least 10 times a year because SFNE is my home park. WiCy was the first ride I rode that went upside down so I started with a bang and I am very excited to ride SteVe this summer but it follows a 10 hour ride.
My favorite Element is by far the JoJo Roll on Ride to Happiness along with the Drop from the Top-Hat and the Double Inverting Dive Loop. I also really love Gerstlauer Launches, they are insane. I also love all kinds of Zero-G Rolls: Black Mamba, Blue Fire and Ride to Happiness. Top-Hats are also pretty good, I especially love the Top-Hats on Anubis the Ride, Ride to Happiness and Karacho.
big fan of the humble vertical loop. If they're small, like on Schwarzkopf coasters, they're some of the best high positive g moments on any coaster. If they're huge, like on Full Throttle, you get some of the best hangtime on any coaster. Win win
I'll tell you what - your video topics promote some SERIOUS conversation from your audience that watches them. Your quirky topics keep things very refreshing in the coaster ecosphere. Thank you for that!
Hey I’m old too, but I love pretzel loops and X2s outer raven turn. I even ride X2 hands up and manage to not get beat up. Just key to keep your head back against the headrest and tuck the legs under your seat!
My favourite element is one that's only found on Intimin 10 Loopers, but it's the quad roll. 4 heartline rolls back to back to back to back. It feels like you are in the element for a long time, which is elongated by the slow speed of the element (It's right at the end of the ride, and the 10 Loopers aren't the fastest). It's one of the reasons I love Colossus a lot
One of my personal favorites is the Batwing. I’m also a sucker for classic loopers like Vortex at Kings Island and their batwing was awesome. Video idea: Top 10 Batwings of all time
RIP vortex’s batwing! The only part of the ride I enjoyed other then the first drop. I wish I had the chance to ride the loopers before they got old and rough,
I definitely agree with a lot of the placements on this list! I understand why you don't like immelmanns however Velocicoaster's was truly elite in the back row and frankly one of my favorite elements on the ride
My favorite element is always unnecessary trim brakes, especially on hypers and when they unnecessarily kill any chance of airtime Edit 6:33 prime example, even worked that ride and couldn’t hear enough praise from those trims
My favorite Elements: Beyond Vertical Drops (Fahrenheit) Switchbacks (I305 and El Toro being may favorite) Hydraulic and Air Compressed Launches(Kingda Ka and Storm Runner) Flying Snake Dive (Storm Runner) Camel Backs (El Toro and Candymonium for ejector, and Nitro and Apollo’s Chariot for the Floater) Cleft Turn (Fury 325) Pretzel Loop Worst Element Midcourse break run
Such a good video! Other enthusiasts should make this video because it explains very well why your top 10, 20, etc is the way it is! A lot of time traveler, wicked cyclone, steel vengeance mentions and they’re high up so it makes perfect sense!
I like camel hills, vertical drops. Like Behemoth, Leviathan and Yukon Striker. The spinning coasters look like so much fun. Neat list. I enjoyed the video. Thank you 😊 💓
I'm not lucky enough to visit US soon, but I have to agree that Kondaa's outerbank is incredible, I still can feel how I was throwed i thought i would fall. (But to me, Untamed double inverting stall and RTH wtf element after the second launch are better) Sorry for my English btw, and hello from a French fan ;)
I gotta agree with Cobra Rolls. Both on Silver Bullet and Scream, I find it to be the roughest part of the ride. Same for high lateral moments. This especially sucks if you are the big guy riding with a smaller partner. RIP to all my friends who been crushed by my rolls in high lateral moments. Thanks for putting up with it.
Top hats, dive loops, speed hills and twisted drops are all awesome. My favourites though are the wing over drops on some B&M wing coasters, sea serpent rolls (the Smiler), and hydraulic launches, specifically Stealth at Thorpe Park!
Gotta agree on the spinning drop being a great element. My favorite coaster of all time is Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's. If you're in the last car, when you hit that curve halfway down the hill that whips the train the opposite direction, it sends that last car flying into a tailspin. The best ride I've had was last month during Knott's Halloween Haunt. The lights are off and the cold air seems to really losen up the track and the spinners because they really seem to seriously haul ass. I'm an old guy too and can't handle some of the newer rides like Hangtime. It was just not enjoyable.
I'm surprised you went through the entire video without mentioning the mosasaurus roll on Velocicoaster, personally it's the greatest element I've ever experienced
My favourite element of any coaster is Voltron Neveras banked airtimehill right before the double up into the mid course. It really launches you in a way I’ve never felt before
Me personally I am a huge fan of prolonged hang time and I feel jojo rolls are just the best element out there when it comes to giving me that feeling of hanging I wish more coasters would feature it to be honest...
I love the cobra roll . Especially the one on Superman at SFFT . It’s so crazy whippy . And one that was on ice dragon at universal . Insane !! But I also love high lateral elements . And btw you’re never too old for a pretzel loop . I’m 44 and I love it .
How to do the bad elements right: Laterals: Maybe just don’t sustain them for more than a few seconds Immelmanns: Intamin did it right on velocicoaster, having great whip and airtime on the exit. Fonix probably did it best, though. Positive G’s to hangtime to whip. Good variety of forces on those Immelmanns, as opposed to a dive coaster. LIM/LSM: They’re probably here to stay, so let’s hope the trains get lighter so that more of the force goes towards the acceleration, not the mass. Pretzel Loops: The most subjective one, I think you could go well with a standard loop (Starry Sky Ripper, Batwing) but the G’s kinda are unavoidable. Cobra Roll: There are a few good forceful ones (Hulk, Alpengeist) and you could still go the hangtime route, but it would probably be better to just put a banana roll or cutback as an alternative turnaround.
Totally agree with everything you said about your favorites! I've never experienced a hydraulic/air launch, but I have done LIMs/LSMs, and I love them. There are some weak ones (like Copperhead Strike or Cheetah Hunt) but the stronger ones (like Hagrid's or especially Rock 'n' Roller Coaster) are great. Imo cobra rolls are pretty eh, they're good on Boomerangs because they're so tight and quick and good on Hulk because it's Hulk but on other coasters they're not that good. Immelmanns are decent, not top tier, but they're not terrible. I really like the pretzel loops, but I'm young. Something that competes with (and maybe outdoes) the pretzel loop is that insane vertical loop on Nighthawk. Overall, I love most elements on coasters, and the ones I don't like aren't terrible, just okay. If an element hurts (like a corkscrew) it's because of the ride and not the element. But my favorite is any airtime hill: bunny, camelback, off-axis/twist-n-shout, drop, wave turn, vertical drop, double down, they're all great!
Just thinking of the pure joy I get from that outerbanked wave turn on Twisted Cyclone has me agreeing with you completely on that one. But for the neg on the pretzel loop? whatchu talking bout Willis?! LOL! It is pretty darned itense. Only grayouts I have ever had have been on that element. Still absolutely love them though at 43. Guess I haven't gotten too old yet. LOL
I don't think I could marathon a b&m flyer because of how intense the positive Gs are, but the first time I experienced that pretzel loop was incredible. The intensity blows my mind. Insane intensity is another reason I can't wait to ride I-305.
You're not alone. I've been screaming from the rooftops the atrocity that is a cobra roll, especially on inverts. Alpengeist is such a great ride, but that cobra roll!
The best element in my opinion has got to be the pretzel loop, I am a huge sucker for positive Gs. I also lover very fast and whippy elements like zero G rolls and corkscrews, you can probably tell I love B&M inverts.
Fellow 30+ year old here that takes Tylenol before going to parks, I can’t say I’m a huge fan of pretzel loops either. I’d have to say camelbacks/airtime hills are far and away my favorite. I’ll never forget being 10 years old and riding Magnum XL 200 for the first time. Absolute insanity. Haven’t been to CP since 2010 but can’t wait to go back and see why everyone loves steel vengeance
So you're an 'old guy'? You're a few years younger than me and the pretzel loop is my favorite part of Tatsu. And the final raven turn is the best part of X2.
For me the most wild thing in which I somewhat enjoyed were free spinners. the fact that you can be able to do 2 backflips in a row always scared me, but for a roller coaster to do that to you is insane, in fact, I felt like i was going to be ejected from the train.
Video idea: coaster draft where you pick one coaster from your personal top 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, through your top 100 to make the best and most well rounded lineup.
Faves: 1 - Zero G stalls 2 - camelbacks 3 - non inverting loops (premier sky rockets) 4 - Switchbacks 5 - dive loops Least faves 1- everything on the really bad slcs 2 - Ruiny trim brakes 3 - the slow zero gs on premier sky rockets 4 - verical lift hills 5 - hairpin bends
Completely agree about the cobra roll. Kumba is a very special ride to me, but if they replaced that cobra roll with a plain turn around, i wouldnt mind. Im really surprised by your take on the immelmann, though. I get really good floater from all the ones ive been on
I didn’t find the raven turn on X2 that bad. I enjoyed the whole thing. Then again, I was on an inside seat in the front row. I don’t know if being farther back changes this experience. Cobra rolls aren’t bad, but I agree they’re everywhere and not all that exciting. Batman’s corkscrews are epic.
Unconventional favorite element of mine is the lift hill. I think for many people it's the scariest part of the ride, and for enthusiasts it's where you get most hyped up for the experience, not to mention the great views you get on some. Right down to a physics level it has to do with you building the potential the rest of the experience happens because of. They also have this magical effect where I suddenly think about my creative ideas, shower thoughts, etc. If I'm riding solo at least. Dishonorable mention: vertical lift hills, eurofighters being the most frequent offender. Even if you're healthy and physically fit to not be too uncomfortable you still deal with the sun directly in your eyes.
Thanks to nostalgia the cobra roll is my favorite element- as a teen riding the Flashback (boomerang) at SFOT having only been upside down on the Shockwave the cobra roll forwards then backwards rocked my socks off! Now, without nostalgia my fav is the Top Gun Stall on Twisted Colossus. FYI- SFFT has the record for most Cobra Rolls with 3- Superman, Boomerang and Poltergeist!
Agree on Maverik being the most forceful LSM launch, even more so than the second velocicoaster launch. Fun maverick fact, if the first train doesnt clear the block zone it should, the second train will stop dead right before the second launch on maverick. The launch will go 0-70mph or rolling -70 either way, its designed as such. So a dead stop launch (which isnt uncommon) is a great one - its also very intense. Also, pretzel loops have to be the most forceful element on any coaster. Those G's are just crushing, especially Manta coming right off the first drop.
I agree with you about pretzel loops. They always put me in a coughing fit for some reason. Just very uncomfortable elements. I’ve done the one on Tatsu, Manta, and Superman at Over Georgia and Great Adventure.
Can't believe the Norwegian loop didn't get mentioned! It's awesome, especially the one on Helix at Liseberg as it inverts twice compared to the one on Speedmonster at Tusenfryd. The bottom of the loop on Helix is the fastest part of the ride and it just compresses you with the strong G-forces. I guess the feeling of the element is kinda unknown, especially when most enthusiasts are American. Cause there's only 2 Norwegian loops in the world, and both are in Europe (Norway and Sweden) if not a new one has opened recently.
I think outer banked turns and Camelbacks are a very solid top two. I absolutely love the Camelback on Storm Chaser. And frankly a moment of sustained airtime with a bit of momentum as you crest the hill is like eating pizza. It's just going go to be good. That said, I'm surprised you don't like laterals or pretzel loops. I guess your channel's name is quite appropriate. I love sustained laterals, though you have to be riding next to someone you are comfortable with. Give me a good unbanked CCI turn any day.
I was enjoying your video, as usual, but then got up to your comment about old guys like you, not liking pretzel loops. How old are you exactly? Probably not even 40, lol. I’ve done Tatsu several times, those Superman clones dozens of times and, living in Tampa, ridden Manta countless times since it’s opening. I ride Manta because of the pretzel loop. I’m sixty two, btw so perhaps your comment was a bit overly generalized. Man up! Lol :)
So funny that we generally vibe on most coaster elements cuz I'm ALL about airtime. I especially agree with you that Dive Loops are WAY better than Immelmans and have always thought this (why do so many coasters keep building Immelmans when Dive Loops are so much better?!). Cobra rolls tend to hurt, especially as we get older (I'm 40 now). But I still love Pretzel Loops on flying coasters, they make me feel like someone is tickling my stomach. I look forward to that element, but I'm also someone who thought I-305 was trying to kill me, so I'm not invincible! (Oh also love those 90-degree and beyond drops, as the drops are always my favorite part of a coaster! And the zero-G rolls!)
Another thing: I love the Drachen Fire Loop on Steel Curtain. And just other dive loops in general. I am SO STOKED to experience the death roll on Iron Gwazi.
I love everything about Steel Vengeance, but 2 of my favorite coaster elements are the first drop of Millennium Force and the death spiral at the end of The Beast.
My favorite element is headbanging. When you're on an Arrow, or Vekoma, and your head gets bashed in, it's just pure bliss and it makes negative g stalls feel like a cobra roll in comparison.
Headbanging 🤘

Treble clef on Fury 325. The sideways airtime drop is an amazing element that just caps off this near-perfect coaster.
Video idea: coaster draft where you pick one coaster from your personal top 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, through your top 100 to make the best and most well rounded lineup.
Faves:
1 - Zero G stalls
2 - camelbacks
3 - non inverting loops (premier sky rockets)
4 - Switchbacks
5 - dive loops
Least faves
1- everything on the really bad slcs
2 - Ruiny trim brakes
3 - the slow zero gs on premier sky rockets
4 - verical lift hills
5 - hairpin bends
Completely agree about the cobra roll. Kumba is a very special ride to me, but if they replaced that cobra roll with a plain turn around, i wouldnt mind.
Im really surprised by your take on the immelmann, though. I get really good floater from all the ones ive been on
Time traveler's first drop is so good especially at night during Moonlight Madness.
I didn’t find the raven turn on X2 that bad. I enjoyed the whole thing. Then again, I was on an inside seat in the front row. I don’t know if being farther back changes this experience. Cobra rolls aren’t bad, but I agree they’re everywhere and not all that exciting. Batman’s corkscrews are epic.
this might sound wierd but im a roller coaster enthusiast and pretzle loops are some of mty favoate elaments but my fave coaster is tatsu so
Love this video airtime thrills
Big agree on cobra rolls. Its a flashy way of turning around but its not fun and most of them are painful!
My favorite element is the shed
Saw what you will about Cobra Rolls, but that opening sequence of Hulk is the only coaster that greys me out consistently.
the pretzel loop on manta is the only element so far that has made me gray out lol. love that ride!
The one on Tatsu is nuts, especially for what is mostly a graceful ride
@@TheCoasterFoodie i cant even imagine lmao. honestly nobody has died in one of those inversions lol
I actually love them but I see why people don’t
Me just excited to hear two coasters that ive ridden mentioned from our little parks near me
I think the best part of Rougarou is the incline loop cause of the variety and it’s also pretty smooth
I think those elements should be around. I'm creating my own parks on Planet Coaster.
Is that game any good? Old school Roller Coaster Tycoon player
@@Cheddar_Wizard Yes
When you sit in the front in ride to happiness, the first top after the launch gives some incredible air time
I was enjoying your video, as usual, but then got up to your comment about old guys like you, not liking pretzel loops.
Man up! Lol
:)
And the zero-G rolls!)
personally i don’t get the hate for cobra rolls. theyre pretty intense.
Thanks for the dinner reminder
Another thing: I love the Drachen Fire Loop on Steel Curtain. And just other dive loops in general.
I am SO STOKED to experience the death roll on Iron Gwazi.
I love everything about Steel Vengeance, but 2 of my favorite coaster elements are the first drop of Millennium Force and the death spiral at the end of The Beast.
My honorable mention for good is the OG, the vertical loop. They might be outdated, but I still love me a vertical loop.
Amazing list as always!
anyone catch at 4:18 someones hat falls off lol
Ooh another interesting video idea
4:18 The infamous (at least among Airtime Thrills viewers) Griffon "falling phone" shot
What about fly to lie? I love those, I know there are only a couple on x2 but still fun as hell.
Those are pretty cool on x2 and vekoma flyers. You wanna unique experience, thats it
