Extreme Tungsten Stickout ! TIG Welding Techniques!
TIG welding is always done at a push angle. A push angle means your torch is over the weld, and you push the weld pool along the joint. The distance between the tungsten and the weld is also something you need to watch as you go about your weld. Standard nozzles release a broad plume of shielding gas over your weld. In comparison, a gas lens improves shielding gas coverage by distributing gas around the tungsten more efficiently with less turbulence. You can also have the tungsten stick out further with a gas lens, giving you better maneuverability and visibility of the weld pool. This is great for when you need to weld in tight spaces.
