00:29 Grip 04:34 Nickel Nickel Millionaire 16:22 Desert Sea 19:52 '68' (Still stoked that I FINALLY saw Jawbox in Chicago months ago! Love me some Jawbox!)
Loved Jawbox back in the day and love them still!! Great performance, awesome to see it’s all original members. Shout out to the drummer Zach, love the way you play!!!
I just keep coming back for this performance, over and over...man, i love Jawbox, and i dearly hope once this pandemic is over you'll visit us in the UK, because holy sh*t do i need to see you guys live, i've grown up with you in my ears and i NEED to see you live! Love love X
I'm envious you saw the tour with Tar. I couldn't go for what I now see as a fantastically stupid reason. Just skip class or call out sick at work. Musical experiences are ephemeral and fleeting and that one is one I missed.
Saw jawbox in LA super good show sounded great! Broke out all my albums and rediscovered a lot of good music that took me back to such a great time in my life thank you jawbox 😎
It's about damn time this got uploaded lol. Been waiting for this one since I heard they stopped by KEXP. Known these guys since their very 1st show in D.C. Love that they reunited this year 👊👍
I saw them with Shiner and Girls Against Boys at the Bottleneck in Lawrence Kansas. I saw them with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones at Liberty Hall and opening for STP and the Meat Puppets at Ak Sar Ben Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. Great memories.
this Q&A part is so open & warm, really great to see the band as a real people sharing their chemistry/concerns/etc and of course, music is great, love the band
Probably nothing anyone else didn't already know. 2015-2020 were peak Trump-meltdown years, so at any given time, people were melodramatically setting random time-frames for the world to be over.
Very exciting to hear this band playing again. Intelligent, powerful tunes that definitely stand the test of time. And they totally killed it on "Nickel Nickel Millionaire"!
Remember seeing them in Norfolk circa 1992 at a literal hole in the wall club that held a couple dozen people and no real stage. They crushed it, amazing performance. Things actually got a little crazy up front and long story short I ended up getting thrown into their mic stand and almost knocked over their lead singer (in no way on purpose). They didn’t miss a beat, which is remarkable because I’m 6’4. I think it was roughly a year or two later and they were on Conan after they left Dischord. Saw them multiple times, there was always an energy they had live that didn’t quite translate to recording. Great band.
Fantastic band. I'll never forget seeing Savory on 120 Minutes for the first time (thanks Matt!) I was off to Tower Records the next day for the CD! FF=66
I had tickets to see them last May in Atlanta and it was postponed of course. Very sad day for me. Jawbox and Burning Airlines are two of my favorite bands.
Saw them twice in Sacramento back in the day. Got Kim's autograph both times. Such a nice person. Have loved this band for too long than I care to admit!! Just a blessing to see them out again! Hope they can come out when the pandemic ends.
Love the extra tremolo bar work by J on the verse of 68. I don't hear that on the original! Little reworkings throughout the set. One more reason this is the best band ever.
The band I really wanna see perform here on KEXP is this band of 3 sisters called The Warning 🙏🙏 Super talented youngest is 14 year old bass player. They have been playing for about 5 years now. They already have 3 albums. They deserve the attention. ❤ Maybe one day ❤🙏

A most underrated band. Musicians' musicians.
With all original members. Fantastic
Jawbox is so fking hardcore i cant even. Also J Robbins is an absolute rock legend and his guitar is sick.
Loved Jawbox back in the day and love them still!! Great performance, awesome to see it’s all original members. Shout out to the drummer Zach, love the way you play!!!
So good! They really know how to groove those odd meters while still keeping it a good rock feel!!! And love the honesty of the commentary
Not sure if J realized how prescient the idea of not having anywhere to go in 2020 was in hindsight kajdhjaksjdhjj
I just keep coming back for this performance, over and over...man, i love Jawbox, and i dearly hope once this pandemic is over you'll visit us in the UK, because holy sh*t do i need to see you guys live, i've grown up with you in my ears and i NEED to see you live! Love love X
They're playing in London next month, cannot wait!
@@joshuagonsalves3904 im going with some friends! gonna be sick
Such a great performance!!! Great band even better people!!!!
Jawbox alone is worth more than my yearly fundraising dues. Love this. They aren't even playing any of my top 5 Jawbox songs and I'm still loving it.
I saw Jawbox in Detroit in ‘92 or ‘93. Tar opened up for them. Got dang they made an impression on me. So glad to see they’re still out here!
The Static tour was awesome. Saw Tar in Chicago in 2017 ... wish they would go out and tour again.
Mike LaBo Music Oh so Lucky!!! Tar is another band I wish would get a reunion going
Mike LaBo Music Lucky!!!!
saw them on that tour on LOndoon ontario canadia....TAR was killer as well

The best rock band of all! Unconditional fan!
Long live, Jawbox! Glad to stumble upon this great performance, definitely made my day!
I love this band so much. 68 is one of my favorites. Never got to see them live, but I did see Burning Airlines in SF. Amazing show.
So happy to stumble on this... miss you at City Gardens
Cheers to Kevin Suggs. These KEXP performances always have such a great mix.
Jabox always were the Rock n roll jamming poets....great 90s band.
Technically 80s
One of the best bands ever. Love these guys
Saw these guys play at a venue in Baltimore near Penn Station this year. Instantly became my new favorite band.
Loved this band since I was 15 along w Fugazi and the Dischord bands
Not sure how I missed this. Love these people!
Forever a JAWBOX fan!
this Q&A part is so open & warm, really great to see the band as a real people sharing their chemistry/concerns/etc
and of course, music is great, love the band
Gotta love that guitar sound!!!
Great stuff. And folks, I would say these songs are amazing, but yet a FAR cry from their most powerful music.
J. Robbins: "There's also a real concern that we may not have a country to tour in, in like 2020"... What did he know?!
Probably nothing anyone else didn't already know. 2015-2020 were peak Trump-meltdown years, so at any given time, people were melodramatically setting random time-frames for the world to be over.
So great!!! Please make more!! So vibrant and visceral!!
I remember Jawbox. Nice to listen again.
Very exciting to hear this band playing again. Intelligent, powerful tunes that definitely stand the test of time. And they totally killed it on "Nickel Nickel Millionaire"!
They used some amazing jazzy rhythms on that album and songs like Nickel and Stall will never get old.
Top 10 band of all time for me. Incredible! Thanks kexp
Jawbox - REAL music, made by REAL people - fuckin' love you guys, so happy you're back!!! x
This made my day! Glad that I was able to catch them in this reunion tour. They sounded amazing!
Amazing performance. Lovely band ❤️🥰
Your saving lives...all of you. Thanks.
Sincerely,
-Me.
Fantastic band and performance!
Love the re-imagined Grip.
Top 5, all time favorites... just squirted out a couple tears during “Desert Sea”. Thanks!
Love the bridge in Grip. This video makes me very happy. Thank you for making it.
Love this band. So glad I got to see them on the tour this year.
I never clicked that fast. Jawbox 2019 on KEXP? Hot!
Remember seeing them in Norfolk circa 1992 at a literal hole in the wall club that held a couple dozen people and no real stage. They crushed it, amazing performance. Thanks for broadcast !!!
Ahhhhhhhhh! Finally. So much love for this band!
Fantastic band. I'll never forget seeing Savory on 120 Minutes for the first time (thanks Matt!) I was off to Tower Records the next day for the CD!

Where's the love button ? Great performance,, loved the re imagining of Grip. Such a great band.
This is both Historical and Incredible! Love these guys so much
Love this band so much. can't wait to see them in London
this is so tight and they sound so good
It's great to see Jawbox on the bill with Jawbreaker & Team Dresch in some upcoming shows..
@9:02 'It also is a real concern that we might not have a country to tour in..... in like 2020...." yikes
Prescient much? I had to think a sec before I realized this was filmed pre pandemic...
Holy Shit he knew! My bands are always the most intelligent.
Superb!Best version of "Grip" i´ve heard !
was kinda hoping they would play savory. its good to see these guys ripping after all these years!
Damme!!! Old School. Showing the new kids how its done!
I had tickets to see them last May in Atlanta and it was postponed of course. Very sad day for me. Jawbox and Burning Airlines are two of my favorite bands.
this makes me so happy. I saw them so many years ago at wigan pier.
Why did this take so long to upload!? Can’t believe I’m finally seeing it. Amazing as expected 👍🏻
So glad they played 68, I don't think I've heard that one live before.
I love the new arrangement of Grippe! Still like the old one but this arrangement is 2019 and hits a nerve!
thank you for second coming!)
Saw them twice in Sacramento back in the day. Got Kim's autograph both times. Such a nice person. Have loved this band for too long than I care to admit!! Just a blessing to see them out again! Hope they can come out when the pandemic ends.
Why are all the cool rock bassists named Kim?
Punks not dead it just goes to bed at a more reasonable hour.
9:00 How did he know?!
wtf ussr t-shirt?
Love the extra tremolo bar work by J on the verse of 68. I don't hear that on the original! Little reworkings throughout the set. One more reason this is the best band ever.
sweet.
I Love Them
Foda! Cheers from Brasil
Incredible. That first song sounds like it could easily be a Failure song.
I have been a bandmateless bassist for years because I only want to play with a band that sounds exactly like jawbox
YES!
Soooooo gooooood
Yeahhh!!! Love this band ❤
sweet!
Gotta bring those toms up in the mix, bruh.
So good!
❤❤❤❤❤
I couldn't cry with Desert Sea 'cause I'm at my job... but ... gosh... they're the best (after jawbreaker of course, but still).
I couldn’t have said this comment any better Virginia. I have been saying this since the 90’s and it’s no joke... we could talk for days on end
GROOVY
Awesome!
I feel like such a dumbass for missing this band live.
J ... you were right at 8:57 . We basically don't have a country in 2020:-/ Geesh...
How did them drumsticks not break in the first song when he smacks the snare
Yeah nice 👍

Beautiful!
Has anybody seen my face? It melted off and I can't find it
"You're an iconic band.....................from the 90s." 😂 I'm sure no offense was meant, or taken but it sure was funny
This is a statement of fact and certainly a compliment.
@@samuelmorse784 I never heard 'em on the radio but they were big for me :)
Still rocking the Schecters..
Keyser Soze if it ain’t broke...
well, holy fuck! Made my night
Savory??
Jawbreaker brought me here.
Wow, "Grip" sounds quite different with the added vocals from Bill and the downtuned guitars. Still a great rendition though.
I dig their sound. R.E.M. vibes for sure.
Oh but these guys are way more idiosyncratic than R.E.M.
СССР 🤦♀
I miss the backing vocals of the original member.
Samuel Morse Original Backing member? Do you mean Adam Wade on Drums?
Nearly R.E.M.
USSR shirt is great, with my heart hello from Russia.
