Watching this just lets me know what order things come out and were screws are will do this as my back ones are crackling and I have new Sony 6.5 2 ways anyways cheers
Thanks mate., i never tried to remove hand free kit, as i am not professional audio installer but i ll get back to you as soon as i get any info about hand free kit removal Cheers
Hi. Great how to video. Is that your car and if it it how did you find the new speakers compared to the factory ones. Is replacing the front speakers exactly the same, and same size and what about the speakers in the rear parcel shelf, dash and 'A' pillars. Thanks heaps
this vid was awesome step by step also i would have left the plugs for the speakers on and spliced into the existing wires so that way if and when you sell your car you can remove them and put the originals back in ^_^ (John) (Certified Auto electrician) ^_^ :P
thanks mate. i m very happy with the performance of Stock Headunit. i dont think so u really need more amps or anything else but its unto you good luck
You remove the stock 30w @2Ohms speaker and replace with a 60w @ 4 Ohms speaker...good work you've essentially halved the power of the amp powering the speaker but using a speaker of higher resistance. Not only put the whole system out of whack by using 4ohm speakers at the back and probably 2 ohm at the front.
Nah mate the factory item is 2 OHMS not 20. They usually go super light with OEM stuff because it's cheaper, less powerful amps etc. So I'd still like to know if there's a noticeable volume loss compared to sound quality gain.
Hi thanks for the comment, compared to factory speakers new one are much better, great sound . front speaker are the same size and same replacing procesior, i didnt tried other speakers as the are in great condtion, but the wont be hard to replace.only problem is finding a good quality freespace sub for rear as they are not cheap. if you are not happy with the sound i recommend incease gain on sub.. cheers
well thats not a bad idea if you going to sell your car soon and your orignal speakers r in good condition..but in my case i had no plans of selling. cheers mate...
are the original speakers 2ohm or 4ohm? if your original holden speakers are 2ohm the pioneers being 4 ohm will not pull as much power out of the head unit which means less watts from head unit
All the wiring and crimping tubes comes with most of speaker, all u need a crimping tool. Most of them hv 3 crimp setting. RED-Blue-Yellow. It depend on the size of tube which setting to chose.. OR You can use normal Plier. just make sure wires are squeezed properly & use electric Tape for extra Strength and protection. Hope this will help
Door lock mechanism is attached to two Flexible wires. You can move the panel where ever you want without any problem. Or u can detach panel easily and put them back together.
Do you hv ss or ssv coz ssv does hv an amp as a standard feature in the boot, i m not 100% sure about ss.(Watch my another video to find out). well in my case i had a huge difference when i replaced stock speakers with kickers. All brand are not the same, even they have same specs they will not performe same. u can use factory wires if you are going to install an amp.
but you install a speaker with higher ohms, effectively reducing the power by half, which in turn means you might have to make drastic changes to the fader to make the system sound balanced
supersmalls whats the difference? bcoz i changed my front 2 door speakers n ur right lol bloody hell wish i saw your comment before i changed my speaker
Yeah but thats only an issue really for those with the ssv and up the lower sv6 and down dont run an amp although if u are having this issue u should change the set up and the amp holden were morons for running the setup they did in these ssv and up they should have just outsourced there sound for better quality for the ssv and up
by replacing the factory 2 ohm speakers with 4 ohm speakers you will reduce the volume by approximately 3db per channel. its a mission to get more door volume from a VE without replacing the factory head unit.
yes mate i m pretty sure all ve are same. even they are not exactly the same but basic procedure will be the same. Good luck it not that hard. for wiring colours watch my another video for front speaker replacement.
stock standard stereo system would be only pushing 30rms per channel.you have 300w speakers which is 150 rms. you need to upgrade to an aftermarket stereo system and a small amp to power the speakers as stereo u have aint good enough
Appreciate the fact you took time out to post up this video.
Easy steps to follow
Well done.
Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video. It's made the whole process so much easier for me. Keep the excellent work.

NICE!. WHat size speakers are on the sides? Is there any speakers on the back?
Thanks mate., i never tried to remove hand free kit, as i am not professional audio installer but i ll get back to you as soon as i get any info about hand free kit removal

hey man i got a VE 06 omega do u think i can just do the same to change the back speakers??
this vid was awesome step by step also i would have left the plugs for the speakers on and spliced into the existing wires so that way if and when you sell your car you can remove them and put the originals back in ^_^ (John) (Certified Auto electrician) ^_^ :P

Thx mate good video and you made it easy to follow.Fitz
Does it matter if I used the white wires on the right side like is their a left and right wire?? For the speakers

Just get rid of the amp for after market amp n ud be fine and adjust headunit

What about the tweeters in the front dash? How you get them?
what the name of the extra extant ion that you used
are the original speakers 2ohm or 4ohm? if your original holden speakers are 2ohm the pioneers being 4 ohm will not pull as much power out of the head unit which means less watts from head unit
did you install that head unit?
Awesome vid, thanks mate
My wires are dark green and light green. Is the dark one positive?
Would this also work with an VE SV6?
How do you remove the tweeters on the top of the dash in the corners ? Car is an e1 hsv
Thanks heaps, certainly helped me out
yes mate this will work with sv6.. good luck :)

u can use factory wires if you are going to install an amp.
Assuming you have a commodore or G8, you need 2 ohm impedence speakers to match the factory setup. That would give you more volume.
but you install a speaker with higher ohms, effectively reducing the power by half, which in turn means you might have to make drastic changes to the fader to make the system sound balanced

Impedance, unless your changing the head unit use 2 ohm speakers. Good vid tho, thanks.

Crimping is better than solder. Solder cuts down impede
