Read my full REP HR-5000 Review - www.garagegymreviews.com/rep-f...
The Rep HR-5000 Half Rack is Rep Fitness' attempt to compete with Sorinex and Rogue Fitness at the top of the market, but through imported equipment instead of Made in the USA. This may seem like a slight, but in reality, their importing equipment allows them to sell a similar level of equipment at a slightly more affordable price, in some cases significantly more affordable. The HR-5000 features 3″x3″ 11-gauge uprights, laser-cut hole numbers, 4-way hole posts, oversized 1″ bolting, and a multi-grip pull-up bar as well as safety bars standard.
When you compare the price of the HR-5000 to some of the competition like the Rogue Monster Collegiate Half Rack it doesn't seem like a much better value, until you consider that adding Safety Spotter Arms (which will definitely be needed if you plan to ever train alone), will add nearly $300 to the cost. The prices being close, however, do force a closer inspection on the differences between the racks as we do in this review.

Much appreciated. I know its going to take me time to decide on a rack. I was just about set on this REP HR-5000 now reading some comments I'm going to keep looking. Buy once cry once right? There is a lot you can add to this half rack later on if I remember correctly. lol Love the info reviews you give out. Actually the REP -5000 Half Rack is out of stock.

They sponsor alot of events up here, but I can't find a decent review on their gear. 3x3 11 gauge, with Lifetime Warranty and very aggressively priced (especially their bundle deals). For the life of me I can't understand the love for Rogue. It is so expensive. There are a lot of racks and halfracks for a third of the price that do the same job. Ok, Rogue and REP make very beautiful products but why pay 900 Dollars in stead of 300? Because it looks nicer? What are we? WE ARE BEASTS :) As long as it is sturdy, and doesn't rust, who gives a damn. I've been squatting and benching in my 200 dollar rack for ten years.. Except for a bit of scratches it stll looks new. Would I change it for a rogue if it was free? Of course I would... but paying these prices is rediculous; People.. it is steel! It's welded an it has holes. That's it.

If you want the full rack option it's literally less than $50 more than the half rack. Biggest differences are the footing is raised and the branded back brace is a solid piece, not riveted in place.
If I were to point out a negative it would be the lack of available accessories, but since it's standard 3-inch "rogue patterned" holing it should be able to take bits and pieces from rogue or sorinex.

TL;DR: Rep won’t replace substantially damaged parts if Rep deems the damage is “cosmetic.” You cannot call this a premium product when Rep won’t replace ugly, damaged parts. I’m beyond disappointed with the PR-5000 and I may return it at my own expense on principle. Feel free to DM me for pictures of the damage and screenshots of my interactions with customer service. I’ve seen others post similar stories on the r/homegym subreddit as well.
    Full experience below:
People need to understand something that Coop may not be able to speak to because of his influencer status. While Rep promises a premium experience, Rep’s customer service is not empowered to meet that expectation when it comes to damaged items. They promise a Rogue level product but provide a Titan level of quality control and dispute resolution.
I recently received a PR-5000. One of the four uprights has a deep gouge in the powder coat. It’s approximately two inches in length and a half inch wide and deep enough that you can see the bare steel. I’m not talking about on one of the feet or the top side of crossmember that’s easily hidden, this gouge runs on the numbered side of an upright from 48"-50", so only a couple feet below eye level. When I messaged Rep and sent pictures, Rep’s rep stated:
“I'm sorry to see that it sustained damage in transit. It appears to be solely cosmetic, which we can be thankful for. Due to this, I cannot sustain an argument to have the entire unit replaced. Nevertheless, in lieu of a replacement, we'd be happy to offer a partial refund of $30 or a gift card for $60.”
I’ll set aside the veracity of that assertion despite my belief the gouge pretty much rules out rust resistance in gouged area and consequently, any outdoor use. But even assuming Rep's right, as Coop notes, this rack is overbuilt and excessive in almost every way imaginable-there’s not a lot you can do in here that you couldn’t do in a T3, at a fraction of the cost. What this review correctly indicates, and what Rep sells you on, is that it’s worth paying a premium for the aesthetics of 1” attachments, laser cut logos/numbers… Ultimately, a lot of the value is tied up in the look of it.
This rack costs well over a thousand dollars with shipping. My invoice was $1850. Other products in this price range include Rogue's competitors, Trek bicycles, iPhones/iMacs, designer clothes. Those companies send their defects to boneyard, or to outlets.
If I bought a MacBook and upon opening it, there was a crack in the screen or a dent in the aluminum, Apple would take it back and replace it. They wouldn’t say, “Safari still runs, here’s a $60 iTunes gift card.” If I bought a leather jacket with a tear in the sleeve, Nordstrom wouldn’t tell me that it will keep me warm. The $30 refund Rep offered amounts to a 1.6% rebate on the $1850 I spent with them.
What’s worse is their actual warranty and return website is misleading and deceptive. They claim that, “if your order was damaged during shipment, please contact us immediately so that we can direct you on how to return any times to us…. With the exception of… damages … all shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.” This is not a fair explanation of their process.
I’m beyond disappointed with them and I may return it at my own expense on principle.

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

I have friends that have Rogue and Rep and they both work for what for what they're intended for. Now one reason Rogue is more expensive is that Rogue uses steel made in America which is 3 times stronger than steel made in China. I have family that's in the steel industry and they tell me that China doesn't have any testing standards or quality control when making steel so it's at a lower quality. But over all Rep will work just as well as Rouge for the amount of weight humans can lift. I have Rogue just for the resale value.

@@GarageGymReviews awful nameplate... Looks cheap, awful pullup bar and well its rep fitness. Too much for rep fitness. Good upgrade from titan... But approaching rogue sorinex prices...is ridiculous. Chinese sourced but not cheaper.

I wish you'd stop promoting this Rep crap. The Chinese-made equipment may be a decent value, but they treat their customers poorly.
