deandre briggery honestly just stay active and chase the fun. Mare sure you are training the styles and movement that you like and it will keep you motivated for years and years

@@PloopPlab hi! No I didn't. I took a completely different route for a dream job. Because this was kinda expensive and couldn't afford to move or go to a school

Thank you for the video Jesse! I've been wanting to be a stunt double for awhile now and you answered some questions that I was pretty ignorant about. I live in North Carolina so moving to LA or just California in general is a HUGE step that I always contemplated taking. I also get those talks from my family members about having a backup plan if the whole stunt thing doesn't work out, but I also tune them out because I know that this is something I genuinely have a passion to pursue and you and your tutorials were a very helpful tool along the way. I'm getting to that age now where It's about time to make those dreams happen. I'm gonna try with every ounce of my being to strive for what I'm after. The only reason I should have a Plan B is if I give up on my dream and stop trying. I refuse to have a Plan B. Its just a safety net that makes you feel comfortable giving up. I hope to see you one day, In person, when I make this dream a reality (:

Quick update. I checked out smash, and realized that i need way more training, so i found out a gym called Ninja Quest, and started taking lessons and going all the time. Im definitely addicted lol. Im progressing really fast too. Thanks for reaching out to the ones that are confused about how to get into this stuff, because your channel pretty much got me into this dope sport.

Hey Jesse, so interesting to listen to your story and discover a few things I never thought about. Im 17, living in the UK and have been a parkour athlete for the last 4 years. Over here we have something called the JISC stunt register. To be able to do stunt work, I need a minimum of 5 different disciplines e.g. Rock climbing, scuba diving, martial arts, horse riding, etc. I also need 60 days experience as an extra on set. Do you have any further information on this to help me achieve my goal. Any advice for me personally would be amazing! Thanks.

Thanks for all this info. My son is about to be 10, and we've been trying to find info on how a child can get into stunts. He loves doing parkour and trains very hard in ninja warrior. This is a good starting point.... we have much more research to do!

Im part of a parkour stunt squad organised by a gym in Ireland we do performances for shows, is this partly on the right track to becoming a pro as well as the previously mentioned tips you spoke of?

Great video, I really admire your work. I am just wondering, are there any specific tests you need to do to work in stunts in LA? In the U.K. there is the JISC stunt register, you need to do six tests, gymnastics test, driving test etc. The system doesn't make for very specialised stuntmen.
No. They might bring you in to audition you but no cert is needed. One thing you will need to work on major motion pictures in the states is to get into Sag-Aftra which is out union. However if the coordinator is willing to fight for you they could "Taft Hartley" you into the union.
do i need to go to a stuntman school in order to get into the industry or is it just for experience?
Jesse you should do a collaboration with some of the guys from X-men, or get in touch with a celebrity freerunner like Taylor Laughtner, Tom Holland etc. that'd be good for your social media goal and you can take advantage of the great position you are in

Hey Jesse, it's my dream to eventually be a member of the Tempest Pro Team. Would you recommend getting a job there and working my way up (like coaching)? Or do you have any other tips and things to help me get there?
Noah Hensley yes getting a job there is a great way to gain access to private training sessions and get involved by being around and see the functionality of the company and team.
