because he kinda just lied for the most part lol, glock never under engineered anything for markets sake, they changed the receiver to a steel one after concern for the guns reliability under sole polymer receivers. he actually lied so bad about glock that i can’t explain why he would say any of this, that company revolutionized handguns for the military and domestic markets.
its a remarkable company with an exceptional history, i would have agreed on maybe an argument that the gun just isn’t ergonomic but brother is just blatantly making things up
If you’re shooting yourself, it sounds like a trigger discipline problem
Not true, mfers shoot themselves all the time with Glock without ever touching the trigger. Most commonly a price of shirt or boxers ECT gets bunched up in the trigger guard when reholstering and when they push the pistol into the holster the shirt, boxers ECT will depress the trigger. Only guys who have way to much TH-cam training and not enough hands on think the only way to have a ND is by having your finger on the trigger. They just regurgitate shit they've heard other TH-cam "experts say
💯
Appendix is NOT for beginners. One mistake….wanna shoot your ass or your family jewels?
The earlier models had that problem as they were not initially designed for heavy duty use. The trigger/ striker springs were always upgraded to counteract that problem.
No you can do it without pulling the trigger, lots of people do it while reholstering, shirts or hair get caught in the holster or trigger gaurd somehow

“they under engineered it to create a market” so you mean they made a simple gun that caught on? what a goober
Kinda funny. I carried a Glock 17 for 23 years. 18 of those years was on a government swat team. We trained once a week on square ranges and in a 40,000 square foot shoot house. Ran obstacle courses & shot steel targets to keep our skillset sharp. I wish I knew how many rounds of 9mm I’ve shot over the years thru a gen3, gen4, gen5 glock 17. Not to mention i had five other guys shooting beside me. Not once did we have a glock misfire or malfunction that was caused by the pistol. We did get a bad round once in a while that caused the pistol to not cycle,”not the pistols fault”. I’m not a fan of the grip angle but it took me less than a few weeks to be proficient enough and pass all my qualifications . I only carried another pistol in the beginning of my career. I started at a local police department in the 90’s. It was a sig sauer p-226. Double action to single action. Very few of the officers I worked with could master that trigger. The beauty of a striker fired pistol is it’s the same 5-6 lb trigger pull all the time. Glock was the first mass produced striker fired pistol. It’s definitely not the best. I personally would say the Shadow Systems DR920 is the pinnacle of striker fired pistols. For what a glock is and the reasonable price, it is perfection. And yes I’m former military. Very few of us carried pistols, Mainly officers. I would stake my life on a glock. Just my 2 cents
Well said
Only thing with shadow systems is it won’t shoot hard primers all the time. I shoot all different types of ammo so it can be a little bit of a problem. Just for the range. Glock has shot everything perfectly. Like you said only a bad round not the gun. Shell shock technologies 2 part cases don’t work good or even go off in shadow systems.
I love my g17
I was a Police Officer 35 years. I carried a glock about 10 years because it was low bid. First thing I did when I retired was bought a 1911.

Now go watch the video where he says he carries a Glock as his EDC
I know Glock is all powerful. If Maverick had a Glock and of an F-14 Goose wouldn’t have died. In Armageddon if the demolition crew had a Glock and not bombs nobody would have been left to die.
Dear Armed Citizen,
*IF you neet your gun...*
● You probably won't need to shoot.
● You will amost certainly not need to reload.
● IF you need to reload, you'll have time and cover...or you'll die reloading without cover, whatever you choose.
● IF you need to shoot, it will be a "shooting", sharp and fast, not a protracted gun battle. More ammo is more ammo, and that's great...but it will almost certainly be over in 3 rounds or less.
● only 20% of "stops" are physical. The other 80% are psycological. I'm not saying carry a .22, but in most cases when the BANG BANG BANG starts, the bad guy runs away, regardless of caliber.
*Edit* All of that said, I've been in a some scrapes that involved the full gamut of gun size. I've wished for a bigger gun and more ammo, but never for smaller or less once a confrontation started.
That’s a very dumb way to look at it. “If you need a gun, you probably won’t have to shoot.”…. So if you didn’t need to shoot, then why the fuck would you have a gun out? Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. The reality is, don’t plan for these “best case scenarios” you listed, plan for a way to cover your ass if shit REALLY goes bad. You’re basically telling people they’ll be A-Okay defending their lives by carrying a two shot derringer in .22lr and that’s simply not true
Absolutely agree. Stats prove it. I carried a 5 shot .38 for years knowing it would almost always be more than enough if I was ever in a position to use it.
This is facts. I was carrying a m&p 2.0 metal around for a while with a eo tech red dot and that thing is heavy af I definitely like it but it’s better suited for the range or something.
I ended up switching to a plain Jane g19 for this exact reason. And not only that but if you do use it for self defense they are taking it probably forever. Statistics also say once a gun hits the evidence room that was involved in a shooting it rarely ever comes out so that’s also something to keep in mind.
I’d rather lose a $600 Glock than a decked out $1600 pistol.
I agree with the statistics but what does reloading have to do with this? Are you debating another comment?
Statistically true. But if you cared about statistics, would you really carry a gun to begin with? Statistically, you'll never need to use a gun to defend yourself, but you carry one because it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Likewise, some of us decide regardless of what the stats say, we want more capacity and/or power because nobody ever got in a gunfight and was like "man,I wish I had the smallest gun in the fight" or "man, I have too much ammo!"
Blaming a pistol for other people negligence is all I needed to hear…🤣🤡
Right? If you’re sending yourself to the hospital with holes in your sack it’s definitely not the fuckin guns fault, you’re just terrible regardless of training every day. That’s literally a finger pulling the trigger while it’s pointing at you problem.

In reality people should use what weapon they're comfortable with. Not everyone is built the same and different styles work better with others. People who talk shit about what someone else carries annoys the shit out of me. We should be trying to get more people to carry, not put division in the community. I'm not a Glock guy and don't carry one but to say Glock is a horrible weapon is just not being honest. Theres a reason people like old V8's as well. Pretty reliable and easy to work on. You don't have to be a mechanic if you break down. Sure there is engines that are more reliable, a little more snappy, and may not be as bulky but they're over engineered and if you break down on the side of the street it's gonna be a harder job to get it running again. Goes back to the old saying less is more. There's also a reason their sales numbers are so high. They made a "under engineered" the pistol and because that people loved them. Besides it shouldn't matter if someone's shooting a HI Point. At least they're shooting. Look up any company's failures. Machines break and humans misuse them. All weapons malfunction and that should be part of your training. Mark your bad mags and use them in malfunction drills. When you have an actual weapon failure use that to your advantage because if it happens when you really need it you're not gonna have time to figure it out. Also if you shoot yourself in the dick with any weapon you're not training. You're playing with your firearm. Go back to your basics. Dry fire training is important. Doesn't matter if it's your first day with a weapon or your 10th year. Practice, practice, practice.
This is the best comment I've seen on this video. Thank you.
I don’t see why everyone is debating this glocks are reliable sure they could do some things differently but it’s really about what you’re comfortable with and for me I like Glock as an edc I know when I pull the trigger it will shoot and in a life and death situation I think that is far more important than anything else

I find where they really shine is the 3.8in or longer barrel 1st and quick follow up shots at +ranges... The 3&3.3 are good also but I like tight groups no matter how far and can't seem to get the same from Glock... I prefer the double safety over the long pull also... I would recommend upgrading the sights for the eyes and to really tighten the groups.
@@ronniewatts9110 Good info. I'm naturally a decent shot but haven't had many opportunities, I need to get something and just get out there more. I just looked at their longer barrel options, they're definitely less slick looking than the one I had but they're certainly worth checking out next time I can.
plus I'm kind of the same way, I'm really dense about acceptable spread on handguns, I'm a raging hit small guy, so I like that they have 4.5" plus options. I'm not going to get truly good enough to justify EDC and self defense if I don't love plinking it and therefore shoot excellent with it, just one of those things.
Sorry I don’t do grip safeties?..
Back in the '80s, Glocks could be hard to find. I found one in a local gun store showcase, asked to see it, and the salesman Broke the Sights pulling it out of the case!
What a idiotic thing to say .been carrying glocks for 20 years .
Since your EDC is a Glock, based on this conversation I assume your back up weapon is a Hi Point.
Hahaha! That is logically possible. Best comment.

The biggest marketing win of all time is "Glock perfection," which is nowhere near perfect.
It's about as honest as " Wonder Bread builds strong bodies 12 ways" remember that claim?
Glock is King
Bet this guy is a ton of fun at parties.
Glock owners Glock perfection... After they replace the sights the trigger springs slide barrel have the grip textured ect
Just get a 1911 in 10 mm
There is no better platform to customize 🤷♂️
Perfection is subjective.
@@rosspeaksteelworksyou call it "customize", we call it "making it reliable and preventative maintenance".

I believe that the Glock grip angle was designed so that it requires slightly additional downward wrist angle applied, so that when a proper sight alignment was established, due to the position of the shooters hands and wrist positions, the handgun would have less upward muzzle flip when fired. The Glock grip angle allows new, inexperienced shooters and less practiced users (ie. People with less hand/wrist strength, new cop trainees, cops in general, new military recruits, etc.) to put more rounds on target due to the grip angle design forcing the shooter to have a more “beneficial” wrist alignment to fire multiple rounds and get better hits. While the Glock does not provide a more natural sight alignment because of its grip angle (compared to a 1911), it is designed that way on purpose and for a very specific and good reason.
Best theory I’ve heard about the grip angle. I still hate the grip angle.
@@chrisgunsandguitars1403 yep, nothing points like a 19/2011 of course. But it’s likely people do not give Glock credit for making their grip angle that way on purpose. Think about how many noob shooter hands a Glock is put into, ahem… cops all over the world.
I know a cop that shot himself in the right ass cheek. He said it got caught in his seat belt while exiting his car.
No one cares
You cared enough to comment. 😂
The "under-engineering" of the Glock was a pure stroke of manufacturing genius. They outsourced the final finishing to the end user by the user simply shooting the gun. This lowered the manufacturing cost, lowered the MSRP and allowed Glock to produce more guns.
The pure genius of this decision is legitimately epic.
That one uncle who knows everything but is wrong 100 percent lol
I love glock, I hate the 22-degree handle, m&p has an 18-degree, feels way better
Glocks make you feel like you’re holding a brick…
Quite the opposite, it feels like a toy. Theres plenty of polymer semi autos that dont feel like trash. Glocks need so much aftermarket shit to be good its ridiculous.

That’s crazy, because the handle feels more squared off than it looks.
Give me a 1911 any day I learned to point shoot as a teenager from a Korean war veteran and competition single action shooter. I can hit targets all day long without even fully extending my arm or using both hands. This will take you several years, around 50k rounds and thousands of hours to be able to get to that level of shooting
If you cut your teeth on a sig and own a Glock I guarantee that the Glock stays in the safe 😂 P226 by far over any Glock

Because in section 8 the Glock is the only thing that works like it's supposed to.

During my academy, my glock failed 4 times during quals. Luckily if you attempt to clear the malfunction you get an allaby shot.
Do i own glocks?? Yes, and we all do, not because its a good pistol, but because its a common pistol. Its safe to own common things.
MIne wasn't safe, but I take your point.

I'll lend them a 1911 if they need to be armed in my house, although by now they all know the drill. They all argued the point until I showed them the hole iin my wall.)
And when you tell Glock fanboys that story, they screech like banshees on crystal meth about how that's just not possible and they've been special forces armorers for seventy five years and gave Gaston Glock the original idea and every Glock has magic spells cast on it so no mishaps are possible, but none of that shit patched the hole in my wall.

@papipistolas4305 You are misinformed. 1911s are the most customizable handguns on the market. The reason Glock has so many aftermarket parts is because it has so many shitty factory parts and they don't innovate. So many other polymer options out there with better triggers, sights, ergonomics etc. The only Glock worth buying is used, in my opinion. New Glocks are overpriced. $300 handgun all day long.

Spongy trigger, no safety, no thanks. I swear Glocks have THE MOST accidental discharges of any pistol. No thank you, never liked em.
It's like it was deigned by a committee of people who've never heard a shot fired in anger.
I'm guessing the most A.D.s is because of the huge numbers out in the wild, and especially the hood rat love for them but I have never understood the attraction. I still have one in the safe but I also have 10 others that I would grab before trying to make a Glock do the job. I think I keep it around just to show newbies what not to buy.😅
Glocks suck, this guy is right. I participated in the 2004 trials for Homeland Security when testing handguns and Glocks SUCK. They were eliminated pretty early. Beretta and Springfield sent junk, Smith and Wesson sent junk. Two pistols rose to the top almost immediately, H&K and SiG-Sauer. No question about it. The Glocks beat the hell out of our hands, exhibited failure to lock, failure to extract and failure to eject. H&K had very nearly NO failures, Sig did a little worse. I do not now, nor have I ever, owned a Glock since that test. I will never buy one. They’re failure machines, I have seen it with over 240 pistols tested.
Homeland security testing them? I'd bet anything they were limp wristing
@@petergriffin383 Wukka wukka wukka
Or the tests were rigged because someone had Sig or HK backdoor dealings.
Exactly what I've been saying for decades! Glocks are just fancy Hi points. If "Glock perfection" is a thing, why does everyone feel the need to upgrade every single part and basically build a whole new gun?
It’s simple they either fit your hand or they don’t. If they do ,then with that grip angle you also get one of the most reliable magazines made. They don’t fit my hand so I sold mine. But they’ve sold millions world wide . I think that closes the case.
That last line 🤣
When LE transitioned to Glock we ran them and I had to tap rack until my palm bled. This continued even when the Instructor took over. Glocks answer, they actually came to the range. Week later came back and said no reloads. Ever since no issues and I ran Glock for work and EDC. Sights have always sucked lol.
5k rounds no cleaning, no lube. Thats where all my 5 glocks have started double feeding cause reduced slide velocity.
I never knew about the safety issues.
All I know is I don't like the feel or the function of them and end up picking out wildly different handguns compared to them
Best way to know if you’re talking to an enthusiast and not a shooter. If they start bagging on the Glock.

About the same as Covid survivability as it turns out!
I agree with the grip angles. Like holding a block of wood.
My Dad , and some rangers and seal guys were the ones in the mid 1980’s who tested those Glocks in fort Benning Georgia. Beretta was the other one . They put 15k rounds through each and threw em in the dirt , up against cinder block walls and were told to break them on purpose if they can . At the end of the week , each man threw those Glocks in the bottom of a rusty ass 55 gallon drum and all signed off as the Beretta as the best choice. They left the firing range , got a ride off base and drank pitchers of cheap beer until last call . And that was it. …
And now Devgru and CAG use Glock 19s. Their predecessors sound like fudds
No competition shooter actually ever uses a Glock if you notice.
