1st red flag was a big one. If someone is ready & willing to talk mad sh*t about someone not there, you can guarantee they'll be as free and easy talking about you when you're not around as well.

This is why, if you have to leave an awkward or disgusting situation, you make an excuse, like how the cat's on fire, or how you need to drive to pick up a relative or friend and how it's an emergency. It might not be true, but if they really need a reason, a justification for you leaving, at least it will placate them.

I came across this channel a few weeks ago and these stories got me laughing , I do play FFXlV and I am in a fc but most of the time I’m a lone wolf , but these stories gets me through the day at work
Link sounds like the type of person you could chill and have a drink with, lol. They knew what they were talking about. I'm at the point where I can spot potential drama from a mile away with some people I run into in MMOs and I keep them at a distance for that reason now. I'm never rude about it, but I definitely know how to navigate those situations now. I've run into it enough times already. It always sucks having to experience that kind of stuff though.
yeah its like playing dead, you make yourself as boring and forgettable as possible to people with massive red flags or they'll blow up when they notice you've peaced out haha
@@bellamango6708 bingo. It's honestly crazy because just existing, minding your own business, and enjoying what you do is enough to trigger some people who are insecure. I've dealt with a lot of BS and learned a lot of lessons from it all and it's why I just opt to keep my distance from people with identifiable red flags.

About story, I don't know, I had before people made obvious break off friendship with me or others because they do not like me/them anymore or because I could not play with them.
But later they "reveal" it was something "entirely not because of me or them" so I cannot blame either OP or Vtuber in this story...
very unlucky sure, but I cannot blame the Vtuber in this story. The moral of the story in my opinion: both sides have their own story and misunderstanding can turn very ugly very fast.
"Of course your friend is going to side with you" I think we've heard enough drama stories to know that isn't always a given sadly 😓

I take it op doesn't know how to operate Discord, there is a mute function to VC, so it's on them for how this started.
Sadly I don't think OP could've avoided this, based on what their friends said, it seems like it was only a matter of time before the Vtuber found something to get mad at them about! I'm glad they left and can still enjoy the game!
I always worry with how much to engage with a streamer in chat because I watch some that are quieter, and some that love questions and discussions to respond to. I worry that I'm bothering or hogging the conversation sometimes.

lol I've been hanging out in limsa a lot recently and the only interaction I've had was someone complimenting my starbird minion and then having some smalltalk before going on their way, I feel like people just mostly go there to afk lol

Pvp is more popular than it used to be, I just think the biggest issue with PVP is lack of rewards, specially in ranked.

Honestly good on OP for not giving the pettiness any attention. Sending your fanboys to stalk someone is going way too far and could be considered harassment depending on how far the stalking goes. VTubers should understand the sway and influence they have over their fanbase. If they intend to misuse that influence, then they don't deserve a platform or any form of parasocial relationship.
Op could have messaged the vtuber before leaving the call saying "hey imma check out. I'm tired of hearing this guy kiss your ass constantly. Talk to ya later friendo" or something similar. They also didn't need to leave the linkshell. That was just an overreaction on their part lol

I say that as someone who occasionally quits groups a d whatnot cold turkey if I get genuinely upset, but it's usually not the right course unless someone truly wrongs you.

OP is lying. No one leaves a lync shell so immediately without telling the person who invited them the reason for it. OP was MAD at the Vtuber too. Period. Stop lying to yourself, OP. Don't childishly leave a voice chat and lync shell, you will get the same response from unstable vtubers.
