Thank you for this. I was named after Natalie Wood. I was born in 1984, so after she passed. Some may say I have an obsession with this case. I say it came with my name. I just have a quick question, why is she in front of a green screen? Was this part of or supposed to be part of a documentary? I was just curious Thank you again

Thank you Marilyn Wayne it speaks volumes that Dennis Davern the captain of Splendor wanted to use search lights immediately but Wagner told him "No" he also wanted to call the Coast Guard but again Wagner said "no we aren't doing that"!
It's hard to believe that Natalie died so close to 3 yachts and no help came from anyone or the harbour master. I don't think I could have gone to sleep knowing someone had drowned. Why didn't they get off the boat and alert the other boats? It's all very strange...even this ladys account. Something doesn't add up.
@@Bombabingbong66 Oh I so agree with you I find it all strange and when she wanted to jump into the water her boyfriend made a long speech of why she shouldn't while someone was drowning that was just weird. As you said how do you just go to sleep after hearing someone drown that is just nuts and says something about this woman. The guy on the other boat who said he would help and did nothing takes the blame for doing nothing away from her. I can't swim but if I had heard someone drowning I would have yelled out along with my boyfriend to get peoples attention so maybe someone could save her or look if I had a flashlight on board or doesn't boat have a horn. That remark about minding her own business also sounded like a lie. Why is it so many people get aggressive if you think differently then they do I just noticed one or those comment the second under mine so I'm happy there are people like you who actually use your brain and think about what you hear and not just go with the flow and you come up with a good comment!!
The steady cry of Natalie saying she was drowning was probably because she was already in the midst of drowning and probably to weak to cry out louder. I once almost drowned and remember that feeling of not being able to yell out loud enough.
Also Natalie was deathly afraid of the water, couldn't swim and a psychic told her as a child she would meet her end in the water! She was also very intoxicated (as was Wagner & Walken.) so her weakened state & frigid waters in pitch black night ddn't help.
@@elkadosh4726 Actually, Marilyn specifically said that her cries for help sounded normal - so she didn't sound drunk. That being said, if the water was frigid and you were fighting for your help I believe that would sober you up. IMO.
@@ElizzzaB they were all drunk. Wagner and Walken arguing. Natalie may have left them to get attention. I think the captain told this many years ago but he did wait long after the drowning to tell. She fell in water and Wagner was going to let her panic a while.
Such a shame..Robert Wagner had everything to do with her drowning...Back then we'll all felt the same way,we still do... Nathalie couldn't even swim.... Terrible that he got away with that...
Marilyn heard the cries for help at 11 pm, but the boat's captain, Christopher Walken, and Robert Wagner did not hear her cries for help for 20 minutes? Yes, I agree with Marilyn's assumptions that there is a cover-up here...God rest Natalie's soul.
@@tigergreg8 I was married for 8 years myself and never thought to ask if my partner could swim. It never came up and we went to the movies and restaurants, never to areas around swimming. I did date someone for 6 months before I realized she didn't know how to read a clock with hands. Seriously! She was never taught how to read a clock with 'hands'
@stubborn mule donkey ,if you go to bed and there’s no snow on the ground but you wake up and there’s snow 9n the ground …then you know it snowed even though you never saw it snow …we all know Wagner killed her ,it all points to him .Dennis Davern is not lying ,he took a ton of polygraphs ,he never spoke for years cause he was terrified of Wagner .natalues afraid of water ,would nit be jumping into dingy in a fucking nightgown at that hour .The tremendous fight they had just prior …it’s Wagner ,I’m sad her kids side w Wagner ..and then when Davern realized she was missing he immediately wanted to put the spot light on ,go find her ,and Wagner said no let her suffer
Our society pays them so much & they are venerated as if they are gods, is it any wonder they think they are entitled to committ murder & get away from it?
How terrible a night for Marilyn and her husband! Had there been a dingy on the front of that boat all set to go, the story may have ended differently because I honestly believe they would have gone looking. Good for her for speaking out. Poor Natalie.
@@nanwilder2853That's right. As they came into their boat slip they found out, yet were discouraged from being a witness sooner for what reason? Threat or fear? Witnesses to auto accidents speak out sooner. (Earlier reply was sarcastic...as in why so long before becoming a credible witness--no guts)
How absolutely awful for this family to be the only witnesses to the murder of a helpless woman. My mother passed down love for Natalie Wood to myself and then I passed the love to my daughter. Thank you for telling
Ive been in situations before when I thought I heard a child crying out, or a woman yelling for help...at night. Though I would start to ignore it and say Well, someone near is going to check...or it must have been an animal...and I would walk away for a second but MY gut would never let me do that. I always turn around and go back to check it out. I pray that I always go check it out, it saves lives
Wagner cared about his image being ruined. He not only was fooling around with Walken, but had started an affair with Jill St. John. Natalie deserved love & respect
@@maddyLV21 before that he had a very steamy affair with Stefanie Powers. Just weeks before Natalie left, her lover William Holden was very sad that she was with Wagner in Hawaii and he couldn't get a hold of her. He drank himself into a stupor and fell and cut his head. He tried to clean up but unfortunately passed away. Robert spent a week at her place comforting her from the loss. Natalie passed at the end of November and by that Valentines day Jill went over to comfort him and never left.
@@lorimiller4301 That is interesting because there is evidence William Holden did not die accidentally, and Stephanie Powers was involved indirectly. Both their deaths are too close together & the parties are all intertwined. Also, the night before Natalie was killed, Wagner insisted on moving the boat to a very secluded area. Natalie said no because of choppy water. Is that suspicious or what?!
People need to read Marti Rulli's book Goodbye Splendour, Goodbye Natalie, she proves that RJ beat Natalie in her house, sound proofing their bedroom and that this was at best an involuntary manslaughter case by RJ. After reading the book (Marti has a blog as well), it's my opinion that it was manslaughter. Two full hours to call the Coast Guard, come on! Other ppl heard Natalie screaming for help as well. Rulli's book along w/the Captain's testimony to the police investigators are the reasons why the police have now changed the cause of death from accidental drowning to unknown cause of death. I applaud Marilyn for coming forward, I wish other witnesses would. Wagner has so much money, he will never face justice unfortunately. TYSM for this!!
Sadly, Ms. Rulli's book is full of bad information. One of the problems is that no one qualified in investigation and criminal law ever wrote about the case until Mr. Peronni. He explains why manslaughter doesn't apply, and why second degree murder does, in the video linked at the end of this post. Though she has a law degree and worked as an assistant in a law office, Suzanne Finstad has no experience with Criminal Law. Additionally, her testimony about the case in a deposition before a judge was ruled "not credible" by said judge. Yes. There is much speculation leading to that narrative, but the cops botched the investigation. There's a mountain of circumstantial evidence, but not enough to pursue since the cops involved were either stupid, influenced by fame or both. Wagner and Walken were so drunk though, that she may have just fell off and the 2 drunk idiots she was with, left her for dead from being too wasted or passed out to help. Either way, they should have done some jail time, but there's a separate set of consequences for the rich and famous. It's called have a nice day Rich Folks. Nothing to see here. But yeah, I'm with you. Robert Wagner likely helped her into the drink and did nothing to save her or was too incompetent to do so.
@@donkey3187 Yes, I believe that Robert Wagner is as innocent as O.J. Simpson was. No witnesses. No proof, just circumstantial evidence, so you've got to give him the benefit of doubt. Wagner certainly would not have been the only husband- or ex -that killed his wife. There are plenty of indicators to the truth, though. Natalie's sister would know what kind of man Wagner is. She's known him for over 60 years. I'd say she has a pretty accurate bead on what happened. She said Natalie was terrified of dark water and would never have left the boat- not in the middle of the night, and especially not to transfer to a small dinghy by herself. She couldn't swim. Robert knew all of this. His refusal to have the captain turn on the search light and check the water speaks volumes. Why wouldn't he allow it if he truly was concerned about Natalie and did not want to see her hurt? I highly doubt that the Captain and Christopher Walken do not know what happened. They are both afraid of Wagner's wrath if they talk. I'm sure they justify their silence by telling themselves that breaking their silence won't bring Natalie back.
This is hard - and heartbreaking - to listen to. The woman is totally credible. Hadn't heard before that there seems to have been a wide-ranging coverup involving the police, media & others - that started within hours of the drowning.
17 days before Stephanie Powers boyfriend William Holden took a fatal fall. I just find it very strange both stars of Hart to Hart significant others tragically died.
I believe RJ and Stefanie were secret lovers. I've watched so many videos on them. I think they were in love and that's what made Hart to Hart so special. You could feel their feelings for each other. She is extremely intelligent and must have realized how it would look if they got together. The movies they made feel very different. They are just actors and the passion is gone. They were on fire for the first three years. They were so hot together. There's video of them being at a parade and she's giving him a huge smile until you see Natalie and the kids show up. She even referred to them as unattractive at one point.
This isn't the first time powerful Hollywood celebrities, entertainment industry executives, heck even politicians have avoided prosecution from serious crimes. The Los Angeles Police Department was known for being on the payroll of the Studios and were consistently chronically inept eunuchs in their abilities to properly carry out investigations, being prosecution averse along with the DAs and coroners, no matter how obvious the crime and the suspects involved. The studios had their Mob Fixers to also make problems quickly and quietly go away to protect their high value stars. If you are looking for justice and punishment and Hollywood is involved, you won't find it here. Walken and the Captain are also parties to this crime, and have been able to squirm their way out of any accountability. Think of other cases like Robert Blake, O.J., Cosby etc. where these creepy characters got away with terrible crimes or had barely any consequences, only public opinion's revulsion of them.
It was the Sheriffs jurisdiction and who handled the drowning not LAPD, and OJ got off because the jury were azzholes racists and one juror even said it was payback for Rodney King. I worked with Kings cousin, and even she said the guy was a POS.

Isn't it strange that her fiance couldn't get a hold of harbor patrol, and then the helicopter that was supposed to be coming never showed up? How about the young guy in the morning, warning her to keep her mouth shut? The warning at work and the maitre d asking her if she and her fiance would like to move to a different table seems weird too. I mean, if you didn’t know any better, it sounds like a planned event that a lot of people knew about. Ms Wayne is incredibly brave to tell her story again 42 years later.

@@juliegoff1731 I'm pretty sure Wagner was ALWAYS a person of interest also the man that was the guest on the boat as an accomplice however back in the day, Robert Wagner especially was a big time actor as was Natalie wood. The studio would have done everything in their power to cover this up! That's just the way it was back then. Robert Wagner was a super popular and bankable star in his day and he made a fortune for the studio. Yes, they would have covered this right up, called this an accident and called it a day.
@@donkey3187 Perhaps they’ve read extensively the series of events and testimonials by Wagner and Walken and feel he’s guilty, like I have. There’s a lot of incriminating evidence. If you had to literally see with you own eyes an event to know someone’s guilty almost no one would ever be convicted.
I knew immediately Wagner did it when I heard. Wagner was in the boat, if this lady heard why didn't Wagner hear? Why didn't Wagner jump in to save her?
Wagner and Natalie had had a big argument, from my understanding, and maybe Wagner didn't know the seriousness of her in the water, though I do hear she was 'terrified' of the water. If that was the case, I wouldn't be hanging out on a boat. I don't think he knew of the seriousness of her situation. But she could have been pushed. And perhaps hit her head.
There is something very dark about every person involved in this. Every boat out there has a small tender boat attached in tow, By regulation has life rings with throw rope. Every boat of the class moored out there that ive been on has at least one powerful spotlight for illuminating channel markers, jetties, docks, etc And no one did anything. Plus, boaters are well trained in this exact scenario of a person overboard and train for it. But no one did anything? This was a planned sacrifice.
This is absolutely unbelievable...nomatter how big Natalie was as a star, she was still a woman and dispensible. I absolutely believe now Wagner had a hand in her death.
I think you’re wrong to generalize by claiming that women are dispensable. Maybe that is true in specific circumstances, especially involving rich and powerful men of influence. However ,, it is men who are dispensable among the general population.
They didn't know where she was. She said she sounded far away. It's pitch dark out. Not her fault Natalie drowned. The interviewer too, sounded like he thought she should have helped her. Again not her fault or john's. She also explained why she didn't go in the water. Makes sense to me.
They heard her. They must've been fighting and all drunk and didn't believe her. But why didn't they go help her. Sounds like murder from what I'm hearing.

She heard Natalie drowning. I believe it happened just as she describes. She would have drowned herself along with Natalie had she been foolish enough to dive in.
My understanding of drowning in open water is that the person is using all of their energy to keep their head above water. They cannot yell or wave their hands around like they do in movies. In order for Natalie to repeatedly say "I'm drowning" for 15 minutes, she was probably clinging somehow to the side of the boat. How horrible.
Alcohol and boating doesn't mix. Very sad. Two forms of emergency numbers/harbor master calls that didn't respond to John's calls from his biat at 11:00 pm? Did they not throw any flotation or life jackets? I wouldn't be able to go back to bed at all. Weird. 😢
Wagner and his male guest were in a tryst, still waiting for that piece of suppression to go mainstream. And why has this story never been mainstream, particularly at the time. Wagner paid off everyone, im still waiting for the captain to come clean.

The male guest was Natalie's costar in her next movie...he was their guest.... Christopher Walken...why he hasn't talked...he wasn't in a tryst with Wagner but he might have been with Natalie
Harbor patrol also was seriously negligent and may have been behind the threats. The mention of the generator sounds actually may have actually prevented Natalie from hearing Marilyn's voice. I just don't understand why they didn't move their boat to rescue her themselves. Although I heard her say she thought the 3 o'clock boat was going to but didn't it means they could have moved their boat to her too.
Sad, these people hear someone in the water in distress and they think to call and discuss it over a period of time. No flashlights? Nothing. Then they talk more. The son stays in his room when they repeatedly ask him the time. They obviously don’t have a clue about emergencies. Poor Natalie Wood was surrounded by wealthy people with little care for her or anyone.
It is very sad, she's had to live with this all these years, but they heard a man say, "Hold on, we're coming to get you" then nothing then her husband kept trying to reach the harbor master but couldn't, then was told a helicopter was coming. All those things made them wait until the cries for help stopped..
This was a little bit before the 911 system. I believe someone pushed her and this was planned. It is a matter of jealousy. She young beautiful and successful.
I don't think they wanted her telling anyone what she heard and seen. For one, I heard Walken and Wagner were going at it, and she caught them. Might be one reason for it.

4I wondered if they couldn't have moved the boat towards her. Didn't they have a life preserver? I don't mean to be critical, but I would have desperately tried to find some way to save her. Also, how far out were they? Why didn't rescue show up in fast moving motor boats? There were boats nearby so I would think they weren't out too far.
And everybody was like okay. Let's turn on some lights so we can see her. And he said not to turn the lights on. Why would you do that? I mean that alone.
Marilyn is an extremely intelligent, well put together and professional woman. I believe every word she said during this interview. And I do recognize her as an actress. She is still very pretty. I understand why her husband discouraged her from jumping in the water. IF THE HAD SEEN NATALIE IN THE WATER DROWNING and not jumped in to help her that would have been terrible. But they didn't see here therefore it was pointless to jump in the water. I believe they did all they could and all they knew to do under the circumstances. Let me add that this all happened when I was 18 years old. Even at that age I never doubted for a minute that Robert Wagner was responsible for her death. Just a feeling I got about the whole thing.

@@lorimiller4301 Most boaters do not deflate their inflatable dingy's. I grew up around boats, in fact I was born on a boat and I know what I am talking about. A dingy deflated or not taken on a boating trip is useless in an emergency. No knowledgeable mariner or boater would do this.
It was pitch dark and they never saw her. You would jump into an icy ocean in the pitch dark in an attempt to save someone you cannot even see? I doubt it.
They tried to help. They attempted to contact Harbour Patrol. It's one thing to paddle around in a dingy or small boat to look. It's another thing to jump in the water when you cannot see the victim.
Nope. Not in the dark, not in the Pacific. I was a lifeguard and saving a person in my 20’s was difficult with dead weight or fighting weight, on a sunny summer day.
@@Candy-O1776 They could have gotten that dinghy out in 20 minutes! She could even have jumped into that water with two floating vests, and thrown one of the floating vests to the drowning person when she had swam in the direction of the persons voice. There would not have been any fighting weight, as Nataly sounded calm to her! They should at least have had 3 floating vests for the people on board their boat! The woman in the interview was an avid swimmer, and there is no way that the water outside of California would be colder than 10 degrees, so she wouldn't have died of hypothermia or drowned in the first hour at least if she was wearing a lifejacket. In the meanwhile, that useless guy she was dating could have put the dinghy on the water and gone looking for both her and the drowning person. Nobody did anything to help, and blames everybody else!! What are the odds? They had deflated their dinghy and didn't inflate it again, they didn't get through to the rescuers, there was a party in the other boat that promised to help but didn't, they didn't ask them to borrow their working dinghy or communicate with the people on the party boat, nobody used flashlights, and they didn't have any floating vests to spare!? If I was Wagner who loved my wife, and then was told that a woman who was an avid swimmer had heard my wife's plea for help, but had decided not to help her, but recorded the time it took for her to drown instead, then I would have walked past her and ignored her also!
The interesting thing about this woman and her account is if all they witnessed was someone screaming for help, and they didn't witness how the woman got into the water why was her account a problem? Why discredit her? Imo because it messes up the timeline and shows there was a huge gap where she could've been saved by habor patrol etc. It also shows a lack of response from harbor patrol, after they called many times which is odd/sus This case has always fascinated me
The harbor Master's response to this woman the next day shows that he was either notified that night by Wagner and told to stand down, or was threatened and paid off the next morning. His karma's coming also when he dies.
Years ago when I heard a witness had heard a woman cry for help and other voices respond to that voice, I knew Wagner knew his wife was in the water.He was too drunk and callous to rescue her so she drowned and then he and the others came up with a story.Natalie said to a medium she had been pushed.So I think Wagner and Natalie had a fight and he pushed her over the boat. He is responsible for her death but he must have some connections that has enabled him to get away with it.
Christopher Walken has not commented publicly about that night. So he either heard nothing, heard what he thought was fighting between an intoxicated couple or heard a murder being committed and ignored it or helped cover for Wagner because he was worried about his career and or has no conscience.
He has commented a handful of times over the years, contradicting his statements to the investigators. We will be focusing on these instances in upcoming videos.
Alcohol, boats and a volatile relationship are a bad mixture. I'm not pointing a finger at anyone BUT I've never felt that Wagner was telling the whole truth. If the story he told is correct, he smashed a wine bottle in the boat's salon and got into an argument with Walken, who then retreated to his stateroom and stayed there. Not sure for how long, probably when the search was in progress....A very fishy story and I've always believed the story the Captain told.....Not only that, in defense of this lady, only a fool would jump into the ocean on a dark, cold stormy night to look for a person in the water, especially when the person could not be seen.
I hope someone has the courage, one day soon, to expose the truth about RW. I don’t really care how old he is. True crimers will get to the truth! This needs to be brought out on some of these podcasts. Nancy Grace: Get on the case!
It is odd that nobody tried to go to person that cried for 20 minutes for help. I know that you never know the circumstances but I would feel guilty if I didn’t try to help.
20 minutes, according to Marilyn in her interview here. If that amount of time is indeed accurate, I find it sad that no one from a local boat didn't say, 'let's go see what's going on'
I wouldn't expect someone to dive into the dark cold sea, especially if you're not strong enough to rescue them but I don't understand why no one sailed around to at least look and the throw a life belt or something. It's tragic what happened to Natalie.

Very interesting and kudos for tracking her down. I feel she was there but it waaaay over dramatizing her “role” in what happened. A need to be a part of something that she was a spectator not a participant. She’s an actress… it shows.

What I'm confused about in this interview when Ms. Wayne said Natlie's friends said Natilie was filing for divorce because she was the bread winner. However, RJ was acting in the hit show, Hart to Hart and he had a percentage of the show. So RJ must have been making money? I have once watched a local program which the interviewer was, Jan Wahl. Jahn Wahl interviewed this director who talked about RJ and Natilie Wood situation that night. The director said its well known in Hollywood that RJ and Christopher Walken were preoccupied having sex while Natlie was drowning. Also, the director said RJ and Natlie were well known to have dinner parties and offer their guests if they would like to join, He and Natlie in their bedroom. I once spoke to a Hollywood insider whose father was a character actor in movies. This lady said RJ is well known to be bisexual, and he could have a macho temper. I think that Natalie did things to keep the marriage going, and she got to the point she had enough. Maybe she was going to spill the beans who RJ really was, and he flipped with anger in a drunken state at her that night shoving her in the water?
In one of the movies wagner stared in, he pushed girl off roof to her death. The question is, did he mimick this film and push Natalie off the boat? Did he have an alteria motive and plan this? Dont think anyone worked hard enough on this cold case!
If she heard her screaming then the men on the boat where she was drowning should have heard her screaming but they chose to let her drown. Robert Wagner always acts guilty whenever he talks about it. God knows the truth and if he is guilty of her death then God will judge him very harshly.
Yea, where were they during the investigations?Don’t tell me they were scared. People came forward back in the day. If you hear someone calling for help like that, especially in water, you’d think one would try to find out where that voice was coming from.
The portion of this ear witness statement that I cannot understand is why neither this woman nor “John” did not immediately call the coastguard after hearing “help me, I’m drowning.” They should have directly called the coastguard when he had to call the harbor master more than once. They should have also called the police and any other emergency response teams available (911). Who debates the consequences to themselves when someone is actively drowning? Obviously, time was of the essence to take action. If neither wanted to jump into the water to save her, that is up to them, but you do not waste time debating while someone is dying. You do what you can (keep calling for help). How could they go to sleep under these conditions. With her job, one must be analytical. Unfortunately, I do not see that quality here.
So why didn't she and others respond. 20 mins and she did nothing mmm. How do you know when you did nothing mmm. Why didn't they shine their lights on the water.
Why didn't this lady lay on the boat's horn to alert other boaters? These boats were anchored in the bay and they were not the only ones. Believe me, a ship's horn being blasted at night would get the attention of every boat there. Also, most boats have VHS radios and most boats use the same channel. They could have got on the VHS and sent out an alert, not everyone was in bed at that time and not everyone turns off their VHS at night....much more could have been done at the time. While I respect this lady coming forward, more could have been done. Amateur boaters, Jeeze!
I don't think I could stand there hearing someone's screams for help, and do absolutely nothing - no matter my sole responsibilities had. This is f'ing unbelievable. If someone could have told her to float on her back, if she had, she would not have drowned. She likely panicked bc she feared the water. She almost drowned at 11. A gypsy told her mother long ago that one of her children would become a star and would die by drowning. She wasn't wrong.

The steady cry of Natalie saying she was drowning was probably because she was already in the midst of drowning and probably to weak to cry out louder. I once almost drowned and remember that feeling of not being able to yell out loud enough.

He drank himself into a stupor and fell and cut his head. He tried to clean up but unfortunately passed away.
Robert spent a week at her place comforting her from the loss.
Natalie passed at the end of November and by that Valentines day Jill went over to comfort him and never left.

People need to read Marti Rulli's book Goodbye Splendour, Goodbye Natalie, she proves that RJ beat Natalie in her house, sound proofing their bedroom and that this was at best an involuntary manslaughter case by RJ. After reading the book (Marti has a blog as well), it's my opinion that it was manslaughter. Two full hours to call the Coast Guard, come on! Other ppl heard Natalie screaming for help as well. Rulli's book along w/the Captain's testimony to the police investigators are the reasons why the police have now changed the cause of death from accidental drowning to unknown cause of death. I applaud Marilyn for coming forward, I wish other witnesses would. Wagner has so much money, he will never face justice unfortunately. TYSM for this!!
Sadly, Ms. Rulli's book is full of bad information. One of the problems is that no one qualified in investigation and criminal law ever wrote about the case until Mr. Peronni. He explains why manslaughter doesn't apply, and why second degree murder does, in the video linked at the end of this post. Though she has a law degree and worked as an assistant in a law office, Suzanne Finstad has no experience with Criminal Law. Additionally, her testimony about the case in a deposition before a judge was ruled "not credible" by said judge. (Mr. Peronni sued the LASD to gain access to the case files requiring Ms. Finstad to be deposed. see second link.

I highly doubt that the Captain and Christopher Walken do not know what happened. They are both afraid of Wagner's wrath if they talk. I'm sure they justify their silence by telling themselves that breaking their silence won't bring Natalie back.
This is hard - and heartbreaking - to listen to. The woman is totally credible. Hadn't heard before that there seems to have been a wide-ranging coverup involving the police, media & others - that started within hours of the drowning.

I believe RJ and Stefanie were secret lovers. I've watched so many videos on them. I think they were in love and that's what made Hart to Hart so special. You could feel their feelings for each other.

This isn't the first time powerful Hollywood celebrities, entertainment industry executives, heck even politicians have avoided prosecution from serious crimes.
The Los Angeles Police Department was known for being on the payroll of the Studios and were consistently chronically inept eunuchs in their abilities to properly carry out investigations, being prosecution averse along with the DAs and coroners, no matter how obvious the crime and the suspects involved. The studios had their Mob Fixers to also make problems quickly and quietly go away to protect their high value stars. If you are looking for justice and punishment and Hollywood is involved, you won't find it here.
Walken and the Captain are also parties to this crime, and have been able to squirm their way out of any accountability.

My understanding of drowning in open water is that the person is using all of their energy to keep their head above water. They cannot yell or wave their hands around like they do in movies. In order for Natalie to repeatedly say "I'm drowning" for 15 minutes, she was probably clinging somehow to the side of the boat. How horrible.

I don't think they wanted her telling anyone what she heard and seen. For one, I heard Walken and Wagner were going at it, and she caught them. Might be one reason for it.

4I wondered if they couldn't have moved the boat towards her. Didn't they have a life preserver? I don't mean to be critical, but I would have desperately tried to find some way to save her.
Also, how far out were they? Why didn't rescue show up in fast moving motor boats? There were boats nearby so I would think they weren't out too far.

And everybody was like okay. Let's turn on some lights so we can see her. And he said not to turn the lights on. Why would you do that? I mean that alone.
It would only work if it was a spotlight. Turning on boat lights, will not light up the dark water that far away.
Marilyn is an extremely intelligent, well put together and professional woman. I believe every word she said during this interview. And I do recognize her as an actress. She is still very pretty. I understand why her husband discouraged her from jumping in the water. IF THE HAD SEEN NATALIE IN THE WATER DROWNING and not jumped in to help her that would have been terrible. But they didn't see here therefore it was pointless to jump in the water. I believe they did all they could and all they knew to do under the circumstances.
Let me add that this all happened when I was 18 years old. Even at that age I never doubted for a minute that Robert Wagner was responsible for her death. Just a feeling I got about the whole thing.

Their dingy was deflated and put away. It was their last night. They couldn't see anyone in the water. It was night-time in November.

@@lorimiller4301 Most boaters do not deflate their inflatable dingy's. I grew up around boats, in fact I was born on a boat and I know what I am talking about. A dingy deflated or not taken on a boating trip is useless in an emergency. No knowledgeable mariner or boater would do this.

It was pitch dark and they never saw her. You would jump into an icy ocean in the pitch dark in an attempt to save someone you cannot even see? I doubt it.
They tried to help. They attempted to contact Harbour Patrol. It's one thing to paddle around in a dingy or small boat to look. It's another thing to jump in the water when you cannot see the victim.

Nope. Not in the dark, not in the Pacific. I was a lifeguard and saving a person in my 20’s was difficult with dead weight or fighting weight, on a sunny summer day.

She could even have jumped into that water with two floating vests, and thrown one of the floating vests to the drowning person when she had swam in the direction of the persons voice. There would not have been any fighting weight, as Nataly sounded calm to her! They should at least have had 3 floating vests for the people on board their boat!
The woman in the interview was an avid swimmer, and there is no way that the water outside of California would be colder than 10 degrees, so she wouldn't have died of hypothermia or drowned in the first hour at least if she was wearing a lifejacket.
In the meanwhile, that useless guy she was dating could have put the dinghy on the water and gone looking for both her and the drowning person. Nobody did anything to help, and blames everybody else!!
What are the odds? They had deflated their dinghy and didn't inflate it again, they didn't get through to the rescuers, there was a party in the other boat that promised to help but didn't, they didn't ask them to borrow their working dinghy or communicate with the people on the party boat, nobody used flashlights, and they didn't have any floating vests to spare!?
If I was Wagner who loved my wife, and then was told that a woman who was an avid swimmer had heard my wife's plea for help, but had decided not to help her, but recorded the time it took for her to drown instead, then I would have walked past her and ignored her also!

The interesting thing about this woman and her account is if all they witnessed was someone screaming for help, and they didn't witness how the woman got into the water why was her account a problem? Why discredit her?
Imo because it messes up the timeline and shows there was a huge gap where she could've been saved by habor patrol etc. It also shows a lack of response from harbor patrol, after they called many times which is odd/sus

The harbor Master's response to this woman the next day shows that he was either notified that night by Wagner and told to stand down, or was threatened and paid off the next morning. His karma's coming also when he dies.
It's sick that they didn't help her...just listened to her die...every boat has a dingy...

Years ago when I heard a witness had heard a woman cry for help and other voices respond to that voice, I knew Wagner knew his wife was in the water.He was too drunk and callous to rescue her so she drowned and then he and the others came up with a story.Natalie said to a medium she had been pushed.So I think Wagner and Natalie had a fight and he pushed her over the boat. He is responsible for her death but he must have some connections that has enabled him to get away with it.

Christopher Walken has not commented publicly about that night. So he either heard nothing, heard what he thought was fighting between an intoxicated couple or heard a murder being committed and ignored it or helped cover for Wagner because he was worried about his career and or has no conscience.
He has commented a handful of times over the years, contradicting his statements to the investigators. We will be focusing on these instances in upcoming videos.
Alcohol, boats and a volatile relationship are a bad mixture. I'm not pointing a finger at anyone BUT I've never felt that Wagner was telling the whole truth. If the story he told is correct, he smashed a wine bottle in the boat's salon and got into an argument with Walken, who then retreated to his stateroom and stayed there. Not sure for how long, probably when the search was in progress....A very fishy story and I've always believed the story the Captain told.....Not only that, in defense of this lady, only a fool would jump into the ocean on a dark, cold stormy night to look for a person in the water, especially when the person could not be seen.
What was Wagoner doing, having a melt down and smashing a bottle? No wonder Natalie got into flight mode.

It is odd that nobody tried to go to person that cried for 20 minutes for help. I know that you never know the circumstances but I would feel guilty if I didn’t try to help.
20 minutes, according to Marilyn in her interview here. If that amount of time is indeed accurate, I find it sad that no one from a local boat didn't say, 'let's go see what's going on'
I wouldn't expect someone to dive into the dark cold sea, especially if you're not strong enough to rescue them but I don't understand why no one sailed around to at least look and the throw a life belt or something. It's tragic what happened to Natalie.

Very interesting and kudos for tracking her down. I feel she was there but it waaaay over dramatizing her “role” in what happened. A need to be a part of something that she was a spectator not a participant. She’s an actress… it shows.

What I'm confused about in this interview when Ms. Wayne said Natlie's friends said Natilie was filing for divorce because she was the bread winner. However, RJ was acting in the hit show, Hart to Hart and he had a percentage of the show. So RJ must have been making money?
I have once watched a local program which the interviewer was, Jan Wahl. Jahn Wahl interviewed this director who talked about RJ and Natilie Wood situation that night. The director said its well known in Hollywood that RJ and Christopher Walken were preoccupied having sex while Natlie was drowning. Also, the director said RJ and Natlie were well known to have dinner parties and offer their guests if they would like to join, He and Natlie in their bedroom.
I once spoke to a Hollywood insider whose father was a character actor in movies. This lady said RJ is well known to be bisexual, and he could have a macho temper. I think that Natalie did things to keep the marriage going, and she got to the point she had enough. Maybe she was going to spill the beans who RJ really was, and he flipped with anger in a drunken state at her that night shoving her in the water?
In one of the movies wagner stared in, he pushed girl off roof to her death. The question is, did he mimick this film and push Natalie off the boat? Did he have an alteria motive and plan this? Dont think anyone worked hard enough on this cold case!

If she heard her screaming then the men on the boat where she was drowning should have heard her screaming but they chose to let her drown. Robert Wagner always acts guilty whenever he talks about it. God knows the truth and if he is guilty of her death then God will judge him very harshly.

Yea, where were they during the investigations?Don’t tell me they were scared. People came forward back in the day. If you hear someone calling for help like that, especially in water, you’d think one would try to find out where that voice was coming from.

The portion of this ear witness statement that I cannot understand is why neither this woman nor “John” did not immediately call the coastguard after hearing “help me, I’m drowning.” They should have directly called the coastguard when he had to call the harbor master more than once. They should have also called the police and any other emergency response teams available (911). Who debates the consequences to themselves when someone is actively drowning? Obviously, time was of the essence to take action. If neither wanted to jump into the water to save her, that is up to them, but you do not waste time debating while someone is dying. You do what you can (keep calling for help). How could they go to sleep under these conditions. With her job, one must be analytical. Unfortunately, I do not see that quality here.

Why didn't this lady lay on the boat's horn to alert other boaters? These boats were anchored in the bay and they were not the only ones. Believe me, a ship's horn being blasted at night would get the attention of every boat there. Also, most boats have VHS radios and most boats use the same channel. They could have got on the VHS and sent out an alert, not everyone was in bed at that time and not everyone turns off their VHS at night....much more could have been done at the time. While I respect this lady coming forward, more could have been done. Amateur boaters, Jeeze!

I don't think I could stand there hearing someone's screams for help, and do absolutely nothing - no matter my sole responsibilities had. This is f'ing unbelievable. If someone could have told her to float on her back, if she had, she would not have drowned. She likely panicked bc she feared the water. She almost drowned at 11. A gypsy told her mother long ago that one of her children would become a star and would die by drowning. She wasn't wrong.
