That "miss" incident happened to me during a class i had to take while studying some bullshit and we had social skills classes as well as straight up feminism classes. During one of those "miss" came up (señorita since im from spain but señora and señorita are missus and miss respectively) and the teacher got all up in arms, saying that miss is infantilizing and assumes marital status, which yeah, by definition it does but no one uses it like that, normally we uses miss for younger people and missus for older people, that's it. The whole class refused to accept anything the teacher said, it was like taking classes from a tumbler user.

There's the small but existing possibility that the lawsuit was brought by individuals rather than by the state to destabilize BZ for lower costs to be dropped/settled shortly afterwards which would not be possible with a state lawsuit. More than 90% of the lawsuit is hardly substantial "sexism in gaming" and other such frivolous allegations that seem more like a journo bait than actual serious legal claims. The viability of that theory will mostly depend on how both the lawsuit plays out now that the acquisition was made and what happens with those who brought it in the first place.

Ehhh I'm not going to go straight to "Microsoft saved Blizzard" just yet. I learned that lesson when Disney bought Star Wars. Approach with optimism if you want, but remain cautious at the same time. Microsoft's been making some disconcerting moves on their own as of late that has me concerned about the direction the company is heading. So Micro owning Blizz is something I'm taking a "wait-and-see" approach. I will say that I have been entertaining the thought of ending my Blizzard Boycott after nearly four years with the news that Blizzard's been purchased and that many of their bad actors are likely to get the axe. But I don't want this to be a case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" kind of moments.
Well, I'd say Microsoft buying it has turned its fortunes around, people are willing to forgive blizzard long as Phil is at the head. Had Microsoft not bought bliz I doubt the stocks would have ever recovered and I doubt new devs would want to work there.

What I learned about sexual harassment in the work place is that it is ok for females to partake in it, but it is not ok for you as a male to report such behavior because if you do the tables will be turned on you and you will take the blame effectively snitching yourself out. I remember working for a company and having to strip naked in front of a all female staff for being blamed for stealing diamond earrings by the female staff. My sister's were a part of the staff and had to witness this treatment of my character. I apologized to my family and got naked on the property's camera to prove my innocence. I even argued that the non related females were just trying to see me naked. I was cleared of any wrong doing and then left the company on bad terms. It probably wasn't my first time getting nude in front of a crowd of people. Hell, everytime I get drunk, I wake up nude like oh no, not again.

Apparently in regards to that developer meeting, it was scheduled to take 30 minutes but Kotick showed up ten minutes late and ran the meeting for 16 minutes, then closed the meeting a few minutes early which might be one reason why people were pissed off about it due to his "idgaf" behavior.
I remember playing WoW, and some dude filed a complaint about one of my team members because his said the F word in /say chat. So, he was like "what the F?" and was banned for 24 hours. I miss those days when games were actually games supposed to be fun without predatory monetization, the extreme levels of todays censorship and/or being released in the poor state which is todays standard. Overall MS is the best company to take Activision of all the possible candidates, my only concern is if MS is going to deal with the activist devs/management within Blizzard. To that extend I also wonder if MS allows Playground for Fable to be Fable. We got amazing soft & hardware to make games more amazing than they ever been; sadly for the last 12 years fun & creativity has been held hostage.
We have a few nice AAA games, but I agree. Lots of games ignore what makes games... Y'know, games... And solely focus on the graphics and monetization value over gameplay, making most games nowadays an interactive movie with a bit of gambling. It's seems that Nintendo (despite them having their own issues) and Indie devs are pretty much all we've got left when it comes to creativity and gameplay. All I seem to play anymore are indie games. They actually care for the product, respect the fan/playerbase (for the most part) and, even if it's released in early access, the game's stable and enjoyable
@@XIxCaptainKRulLT let me suggest a few interesting ones. Alisa Tormented Souls Both are excellent homages to classic Survival Horror with Alisa going for PS1 crunchy graphics. Any of the "Dread X Collection" literally a bunch of devs worked for a week to make horror shorts with interesting ideas/twists and all put under one game name. Think like old demo disc's. Some even went on to expand their idea and make full games. Ready or Not isn't horror but it is literally SWAT 5. Now I grew up with Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon so everyone is dead but SWAT players are loving it.

Playing modern online games is a weird lonely experience. I miss the days of open mics, making friends that you keep in touch with for years, that seems to be gone. Take BF2042 for example. You can't even voice chat. Im getting too old for this shit, I guess. I'm 37, I have been gaming online since 1997 on Rainbow Six: Eagle Watch. I was one of the firsts to get cable net, I my clan helped pioneer the in game t-bag in 1997, only we called it humping back then. I've seen many games come, and even more go. I've seen game dev teams go from a few dudes who love games making something out of passion and love to billion dollar investments and publicly traded game companies. We let them fucking destroy what we love. ANY TIME corporations take interest in something they feel they can extort for money, they do it, and they ruin it. These people who own the modern day AAA dev companies, have most likely never played a game, or even want to. They only want the money. AAA gaming is dead to me. Indie is where it's at.

As someone who sadly plays classic wow. It was so much fun watching all the virtue signaling changes they made to the game after the lawsuit. They also removed the /spit emote....mainly because when they added the first "store" mount to classic tbc, everyone would spit on anyone riding it. Gotta protect the pay pigs in the name of virtue. They also changed some female npcs into a mix of male/females and added a male succubus....among many other things
I do believe there is an old adage along the lines of “The guilty will try their hardest to hide their crimes whilst trying to accuse and punish you for the same thing.” It’s a sorry sight to see that these kinds of people are running every last little goddamn thing. At this point it’s just a dismal black comedy that I will graciously laugh at how fucked up it all is. Popcorn and s’mores are on me if anybody wants to pull up a seat next to me.
I remember when WoW was fun and GMs would personally respond to tickets in role play. Those days are long gone. The game lost it's touch in multiple ways. I think what ultimately broke my interest in WoW was a mass robbing of a guild vault, all because we trusted the wrong person. Blizzard didn't do anything about these ninjas to the point where ninjas would make guilds to prey on people's generosity (they'd take everything from the shared vault and than disband the guild and/or switch servers.) And these ninjas would brag about their thieving in trade chat, and Blizzard refused to take advantage of their banning for "any or no reason" policy. Even with the loot system changed, I can only imagine how much worse it's gotten. It's not fun when your good faith is so easily and openly used against you.
The artwork of the Bowl of Fruits in WoW is much more offensive to me ... It shows if you are different (the lemon) and you don't fit into the "sweet" category, you will be excluded and dismembered ... metaphorically speaking.
I hope this will bode well for the new Activision Blizzard. Better workplace, better games that won't get released every year. Kinda excited because Blizzard said they don't have anymore plan with Starcraft. Maybe Microsoft will make a sequel like how they did with AoE. Fingers crossed though

Not a Starcraft player as I've never owned one but didn't StarCraft 2 end on a cliff hanger or open enough for a sequel after the expansions? Given that RTS are seeing a revival over the past few years with releases like Iron Harvest and Age of Empires 4 I could only see StarCraft 3 selling well....so long as it's not Command & Conquer 4...let's not go to that dark age.

I got gifted a subscription or free trial to WoW in the Burning Crusade days, and it wasn't for me but I met this overly helpful and friendly Night Elf that attached to me like a limpet. Couldn't get rid of them, every day logged in to some new item or potion waiting in my inbox. Didn't keep the game but kept the friend. In the fullness of time it turned out they were actually a she. The she was Swedish. And hot. Married the shit out of her and we're still together. About the only kind word I have for Blizzard.

What I learned from this situation is the following:

There's the small but existing possibility that the lawsuit was brought by individuals rather than by the state to destabilize BZ for lower costs to be dropped/settled shortly afterwards which would not be possible with a state lawsuit.
More than 90% of the lawsuit is hardly substantial "sexism in gaming" and other such frivolous allegations that seem more like a journo bait than actual serious legal claims.

Ehhh I'm not going to go straight to "Microsoft saved Blizzard" just yet. I learned that lesson when Disney bought Star Wars. Approach with optimism if you want, but remain cautious at the same time. Microsoft's been making some disconcerting moves on their own as of late that has me concerned about the direction the company is heading. So Micro owning Blizz is something I'm taking a "wait-and-see" approach.
I will say that I have been entertaining the thought of ending my Blizzard Boycott after nearly four years with the news that Blizzard's been purchased and that many of their bad actors are likely to get the axe. But I don't want this to be a case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" kind of moments.
Well, I'd say Microsoft buying it has turned its fortunes around, people are willing to forgive blizzard long as Phil is at the head. Had Microsoft not bought bliz I doubt the stocks would have ever recovered and I doubt new devs would want to work there.

What I learned about sexual harassment in the work place is that it is ok for females to partake in it, but it is not ok for you as a male to report such behavior because if you do the tables will be turned on you and you will take the blame effectively snitching yourself out. I remember working for a company and having to strip naked in front of a all female staff for being blamed for stealing diamond earrings by the female staff. My sister's were a part of the staff and had to witness this treatment of my character. I apologized to my family and got naked on the property's camera to prove my innocence. I even argued that the non related females were just trying to see me naked. I was cleared of any wrong doing and then left the company on bad terms. It probably wasn't my first time getting nude in front of a crowd of people. Hell, everytime I get drunk, I wake up nude like oh no, not again.

Apparently in regards to that developer meeting, it was scheduled to take 30 minutes but Kotick showed up ten minutes late and ran the meeting for 16 minutes, then closed the meeting a few minutes early which might be one reason why people were pissed off about it due to his "idgaf" behavior.
I remember playing WoW, and some dude filed a complaint about one of my team members because his said the F word in /say chat. So, he was like "what the F?" and was banned for 24 hours. I remember shouting at the dude who did it, saying: "Dude, just turn the filter on!" he replied with "I shouldn't have to!"
I miss those days when games were actually games supposed to be fun without predatory monetization, the extreme levels of todays censorship and/or being released in the poor state which is todays standard. Overall MS is the best company to take Activision of all the possible candidates, my only concern is if MS is going to deal with the activist devs/management within Blizzard. To that extend I also wonder if MS allows Playground for Fable to be Fable. We got amazing soft & hardware to make games more amazing than they ever been; sadly for the last 12 years fun & creativity has been held hostage.

We have a few nice AAA games, but I agree. Lots of games ignore what makes games... Y'know, games... And solely focus on the graphics and monetization value over gameplay, making most games nowadays an interactive movie with a bit of gambling.
It's seems that Nintendo (despite them having their own issues) and Indie devs are pretty much all we've got left when it comes to creativity and gameplay. All I seem to play anymore are indie games. They actually care for the product, respect the fan/playerbase (for the most part) and, even if it's released in early access, the game's stable and enjoyable

Playing modern online games is a weird lonely experience. I miss the days of open mics, making friends that you keep in touch with for years, that seems to be gone.

Im getting too old for this shit, I guess. I'm 37, I have been gaming online since 1997 on Rainbow Six: Eagle Watch. I was one of the firsts to get cable net, I my clan helped pioneer the in game t-bag in 1997, only we called it humping back then. I've seen many games come, and even more go. I've seen game dev teams go from a few dudes who love games making something out of passion and love to billion dollar investments and publicly traded game companies.
We let them fucking destroy what we love. ANY TIME corporations take interest in something they feel they can extort for money, they do it, and they ruin it. These people who own the modern day AAA dev companies, have most likely never played a game, or even want to. They only want the money. AAA gaming is dead to me. Indie is where it's at.
I solemnly thank you for all the T-Baggings I received in Halo 2 and 3 multiplayer as a teenager. The rage and disrespect(received and returned) made me a more emotionally resilient and stable adult.
I salute you.

As someone who sadly plays classic wow. It was so much fun watching all the virtue signaling changes they made to the game after the lawsuit.
They also removed the /spit emote....mainly because when they added the first "store" mount to classic tbc, everyone would spit on anyone riding it. Gotta protect the pay pigs in the name of virtue. They also changed some female npcs into a mix of male/females and added a male succubus....among many other things

I do believe there is an old adage along the lines of “The guilty will try their hardest to hide their crimes whilst trying to accuse and punish you for the same thing.” It’s a sorry sight to see that these kinds of people are running every last little goddamn thing. I remember when WoW was fun and GMs would personally respond to tickets in role play.
Those days are long gone. The game lost it's touch in multiple ways.
I think what ultimately broke my interest in WoW was a mass robbing of a guild vault, all because we trusted the wrong person. Blizzard didn't do anything about these ninjas to the point where ninjas would make guilds to prey on people's generosity (they'd take everything from the shared vault and than disband the guild and/or switch servers.)
And these ninjas would brag about their thieving in trade chat, and Blizzard refused to take advantage of their banning for "any or no reason" policy. Even with the loot system changed, I can only imagine how much worse it's gotten. It's not fun when your good faith is so easily and openly used against you.
The real question is if they were planning on buy them before or after the allegations?

Given that RTS are seeing a revival over the past few years with releases like Iron Harvest and Age of Empires 4 I could only see StarCraft 3 selling well....so long as it's not Command & Conquer 4...let's not go to that dark age.

My eyes nearly rolled out of my head when Briana Wu brought up Gamergate. Seriously, those who were on the 'GG was bad' side never shut up about it, and try to draw lines to it constantly. It's like their one moment in the spotlight. I've heard it attached to the rise of Trump, Jan 6th, the rise of the Alt Right, Nazis, Criticisms of any other media (such as ghost busters 2016, the new starwars trilogy, the state of comics, the Love of the Joker movie, etc), incels, the debate about trans issues... It just goes on and on.
And it was an argument about videogames! IT WASN'T THAT IMPORTANT! These people are insane!

GG actually WAS the catalyst that kicked off the modern culture war. Five Guys Burgers and Fries was so egregiously corrupt but the entire media circled the wagons to label all criticism as being other “isms” by hyper focusing on fringe weirdos - and it worked extremely well at the cost of permanently waking up a small percentage of normies. The media has since over used this strategy and the small percent of normies permanently losing trust in the system has grown to unbelievable numbers and even more insane rhetoric.

I got gifted a subscription or free trial to WoW in the Burning Crusade days, and it wasn't for me but I met this overly helpful and friendly Night Elf that attached to me like a limpet. Couldn't get rid of them, every day logged in to some new item or potion waiting in my inbox.
Didn't keep the game but kept the friend. In the fullness of time it turned out they were actually a she. The she was Swedish. And hot. Married the shit out of her and we're still together.

My take exactly. Star Wars fans learned the hard way not to celebrate too early after Disney bought Star Wars only to ruin it. The same thing could happen here with Microsoft and Blizzard. Time will tell.
