Who’s up for an awesome RS6 showdown?!
We’ve brought in the Awesome GTI RS6 to go up against Mat’s daily driver RS6, and we’re finding out just how much performance you get from a £5,000 tune.
It’s no surprise that the tuned RS6 provides you with more power, delivering 700hp & 1,000Nm of torque! In comparison, the standard RS6 delivers 600hp & 800Nm respectively. There’s one area where the two match each other though - the weight, with both coming in at 2,075kg!
Surely it’ll be a walkover for the tuned RS6, right?! There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

@@humanperson4605 £5000 is a hell of a lot for a tune, here in Denmark you can get a custom map on Dyno for around £500 if it's front or rwd, AWD would be around £700-800

I'd be perfectly content with the stock version. Even with the soft-limiter it sounds fine to me. The RS6 is meant to be refined and a bit understated. It's not for the "look at me... look at me..." crowd. Most of the RS6's I've seen just cruise around sedately, with the low rumble letting you know it's not quite an ordinary car. To most regular folks, it would appear to be just a regular luxury estate car.

The removal of the soft limiter is just how all Audi's should be
Limiting boost at launch to maximise traction has been around since at least the V8 Lotus Esprit in the mid 90's. Glad to see these Tuners using it to good effect and getting epic results.

That tuned RS6 is now like the so called Performance version from Audi. The first versions (non-performance) are always quite tame.
Performance should be expected from an RS Audi, without the Performance moniker. The engine is just underdeveloped compared to the M5 and E63. They always just counted on Quattro for drag race wins, but the rivals already have AWD as well.
Getting it tuned is definitely worth it
The big catch is it voids the warranty and could possibly damage engine and gearbox over a short period of time.
For that kind of money? Thats a rip off
I would say it's expensive for "only" 100 HP more out of 4.0 turbo V8, and reliability issues which sure will come with the tune.

I have an S3 8P modified pushing 427 HP, the 6 speed S-Tronic on it is amazing 🔥 dual clutch = lightning gear shifts 😎

First thing I would do... Exaust system, removal of the soft limiter, filter and remap! But only so things can work properly toguether and sound great, not for more power. The original already has enough power!

Can you please race this tuned RS6 against the E63 and M5 comp because even with this tune the RS6 is still the cheapest
5 grand is a hell of a lot of money, especially when you can get about 70% of those gains from just a remap for less than £500.
But then again if you can afford one of these 5 grand is pocket change.
The 5k is for the exhaust gpf back, tune and the air filters

Most importantly (at least in Germany) APR gives you a warranty for I believe two years just as OEM does
Mat can afford it, if he can splash out on a new Jimny and an RS6 he has plenty to splash around.
@@will4may175 the RS6 is a press car, he didn't buy it with his own money. Audi wanted a long term review, similarly to Merc giving him that A35/A45 (car remember which). The Jimny he bought, although like most people there's a good chance it's leased or financed. He has a dream job but I wouldn't say it makes him rich. Just gets to experience a lot of nice cars.
I suggest making a video about Innova cars that have been remap, and raced😀😀

how do they blow up the gearbox with 700hp when other tuners have no problems when tuning it to 1000hp?
The new RS6 hasn't been tuned to more than 700 yet without reinforced gearboxes
Full torque from the get-go made it go boom. Hence why most high HP cars do NOT race from a standstill. They do it from a roll. Or get this tune with a 'soft' launch to save the clutch.
Cause new Audis are horribly unreliable as it is.
@@Jallu555 RS6's always had great tuning potential since the c5 gen so i don't get where you're coming from. 1000hp in this is just a matter of bigger turbos, intercoolers, exhaust and a tune of course.

This is no ECU tune you can see that there's a piggyback chip installed at the MAP sensors😄
They are racechip dealers aswell and ran that before APR released their beta software

Hi Matt. I think you must do a drag race with tuned cars let's say the tuned Audi, the tuned orange jaguar and the tuned nismo Nissan GTR. But that Audi is fast men...
If you are tuning an RS6 for more power, the first thing to get sorted is the gearbox. Otherwise it gets very expensive very quickly. It is the main reason Audi held back the power on these. It isn't a hugely expensive job, but it isn't just new software.
5000 pounds for extra 17% of performance? Even with an exhaust and intake thats what i call a rip off..

The tuned RS6 is what it is supposed to be FASTER. BUT, THE STOCK RS6 Exhaust sounds wayyy better. Soft limiter is there for a reason, and even though the stock has one still sounds better

This audi drag race was awesome.
With that tune 700 plus Hp 1000 nm of torque , expected much better then mediocre performance. With these numbers I expected 10s to 10.1s.
