The reason why bluebird gives Steven grass, mossels and peanut butter is because that is where the most people allergic of is
That’s funny
Death by hay-fever would be dreadful
Worst assassination attempt
Lol I didn't even think of that 😂
Hahaha
I am sure everyone already knew this but for those who dont, pearl doesnt shapeshift because she has mixed feelings about it ever since she transformed into rose to "shatter" pink diamond
Yup, a very easy thing to miss.
27:20 Pearl joining in to Shapeshift and play Steven Tag is SO huge for her. She used to scoff at Amethyst for shape-shifting back in Season 1, especially when Amethyst shapeshifter into herself, and the last time they played Steven Tag, she outright refused. 4 seasons later, we know that’s because of the trauma she carried from staging Pink’s shattering.
She correlated shapeshifting with staging her Diamond’s death for so long, and she resented Amethyst for being able to do it so freely, while the memory of what she did brought her so much pain. Steven recognized it too, which is why he said, “Good for her.” For Pearl, it’s a really big step and shows how far she’s come since then. 🥺
10:18
It was confirmed by the crewniverse that a cut scene of the movie was Spinel's gem having privileges and access around Homeworld, enough to find and control the drill
They could have devoted less than 15 seconds to that, and it would have cleared all of this up.
I like the other answer, Black Hat Organization is always giving the best gadgets to any evil cartoon, that includes vengeful gems
And no one reported that?
@@manupm9161 What do you mean?
@@addison_v_ertisement1678 didn't any gem report to the diamonds, that a long forgotten gem just casually took a superweapon?
The things Bluebird Azurite gave Steven to eat are some of the most common allergens. Peanuts, shellfish, and grass (pollen?). She was trying to send Steven into anaphylactic shock. Pretty hardcore.
I have to admit, driving the van into the house via warp pad and NOT crashing into anything is pretty impressive.
The reason Connie isn’t in the series much is because Connie would solve everything too quickly and then we wouldn’t have 20 episodes we would have 10 😂
Bluebird's dish contains things that most humans are allergic to: seafood, peanut butter and grass (pollen)
Fun fact, the peanut is not a pea nor a nut!
We need more peanut lore.
Legume?
It's a fruit, cause everything was secretly a fruit the whole time!
Wait, the peanut is a nut
Grass in itself is very harmful to human teeth and will do permanent damage.
The Lapis episode really resonates with me. I used to get into a lot of fights as a kid, and I was always upsettingly strong and brutal. Even if it was two on one, I'd win by being so aggressive it scared them. But as I got older, I struggled to keep my temper in line enough to make friends. It was hard to NOT resort to violence, but instead learn to solve problems by communicating. I still struggle with anger to this day. So hearing Lapis say "That wasn't strength, that was weakness! Restraint takes strength! Patience takes strength!" That really hit hard.
22:15 the only noticeable change is steven and connie because they hit puberty. Cartoon kids and adults don't usually change that much design wise
I think, the reason stevens powers were reset by the rejuvenator, was that just like stevens human half had to learn how to control the gems powers, the gem also had to learn how to use its powers on stevens human body (shapeshifting, fusion, floating), and to learn how to interpret signals from his human brain (normally the conciousness is located in the gem).
Basically it resets all the keybinds to factory settings, so he had to rebind all of them.
To me Steven universe future feels like the best fanservice in a show, because it feels more like the "crewniverse" did this for themselves, after all they were put through, since i would bet they are also fan of these characters, and it celebrate the animation media as a whole, not as company's but as community to tell human stories.
After revisiting this series many times i genuinely think SU as a whole is amazing. ❤️⭐
Fun Fact: There is a theory why our Lapis Lazuli is stronger than the other 2 Lapis Lazulis combined.
It is known that our Lapis Lazuli was already made before the war during Era 1 which was a time that the minerals were so abundant that they could make gems that were so powerful. And having old age and also in a state of running away from the Diamond Authority, she managed to use her powers so well that she became battle-tested and more proficient at using it.
Peridot mentioned before that gems made during Era 2 were less capable as the resources and minerals were scarce. That is why she was given limb enhancements and still had weaker powers even when she discovered it. Peridots made in Era 1 were probably taller and had more powerful telekinetic abilities. The other 2 Lapis Lazulis were probably made during Era 2, hence, why they were weaker and seemed very young and inexperienced in terraforming (judging from their remarks while they were terraforming).
More than just minerals, any gems made after Pink left have got 3/4 the Diamond Juice.
Lapis has been through the grinder too and come out sharper for it.
Logically, Peridots weren't around in Era 1, else Garnet would have recognized one back in Warp Tour ("No idea".)
My headcanon is that the shortages of Era 2 forced Homeworld and the rest of the Gem Empire to became more technologically dependent and centralized. The big Era 1 techno Gem species were Nephrites, who were fairly powerful in their own right (full-blown Centipeetle could hold her own against GAP); Era 2 made necessary Gems who were more "brain" than "brawn", i.e. Peridots, who were physically limited but mentally more of a fit to handle the increasingly complex technological systems supporting the Gem Empire.
With Lapis being my favorite, I couldn’t help but love “Why So Blue?” Such a great song
I love how Greg pulled the Sakura move by cutting himself free like that. He's now an anime princess.
Trivia fact: The nice Lapis has golden freckles. This is resembling real life lapis lazuli which sometimes ends up with flecks of pyrite mixed in.
The last time Pearl changed shape was when she pretended to be Rose... that's why they celebrated, a trauma slowly overcome.
I know i said it in the fusion vid but i love Bluebird gave Steven a dish of things humans "are allergic to."
Low-key tried poisoning Steven.
5:07 HIS HAIR, HE LOVES HIS HAIR NOOO
5:34 YEAAAA KICK EM DOWN
7:56 Amethyst's scream❤
7:58 "Die die DIE DIE"
17:23 "HE'S IN THE WALLS"
18:46 crate tactic sounds amazing
Infinity Train is an incredible show that unfortunately isn't that well known
Where would they even watch that?
@@stickman2276 i have no idea unfortunately, but it must be there somewhere
I’m so mad I never got to finish it it’s SO GOOD 😭😭
Have they finished Sheera or watched arcane
@@deondrex18k check their playlists, when you click on their channel, you can go to the playlists section and yes they did watch arcane but it was only 2 of the guys watching
Snowday episode may me laugh. Pearl can finally shape-shift into Steven. The Steven fusions were incredible
❄️❄️❄️🤣🤣🤣
THANK YOU.
Every time someone shits on Rose, I mention that part of her and Steven's relationship is that of any kid learning that their parent is actually a human who does fail sometimes, who does have bad qualities, and does have a history where they made mistakes. So few people talk about this aspect of Rose's story being told.
Steven getting his powers back after Spinel resetting his gem half has to do with more of a mental block rather than him not knowing how to perform certain techniques. He had to relive his experiences just like the other crystal gems in the movie.
Personally I think Infinity Train is a great recommendation fo you guys to watch, it's an amazing show
Infinity Train is amazing
I also hope they haven't forgot about Hilda, that show is insanely phenomenal
Fr i love hilda @@azeTrom17
Ok Ko is a wonderful, but sadly cut short, series I'd think you all would get a kick out of 😊
- Bluebird Azurite is voiced by Larissa Gallagher who also voices Fine (Vampire in the Garden), Lagoona & others (Monster High), Lola (Komi Can’t Communicate), Sachiko (Tokyo Godfathers), Miss Pastel, Koala Princess, Demon Queenie, & Sara (OK K.O.), Lady Lightning (Stan Lee’s Comic Crusaders), & a few more
- Bluebird’s plate of “food” is actually quite deadly in particular for people with allergies (nuts, pollen, & shellfish)
- Rainbow Quartz 2.0 who is voiced by Alastair James who also voices Britt (Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series), a burly guy (Rumble), & a few more while Sunstone is voiced by Shoniqua Shandai who also plays Shyrell (The Guest Book), Angie (Harlem), & many more
- The "The Tidying Song" is a reference to Mary Poppins's song "A Spoonful of Sugar" & also during the song the bird that appears is a European Blackbird which is a bit odd since Steven lives in America but of course in Mary Poppins song a American Robin was used in the film, & that not the only music reference with the others being that you can hear light world dungeon music from “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past” when Steven entered Onion’s darkened house & that Onion playing a marching tune that leads the gems off a cliff is a reference to the Pied Piper
- Notice that in Onion’s kitchen there is a box that says “Revolutionary Grill Utensils” this is a reference to the anime that was one of the inspiration for Steven Universe that being Revolutionary Girl Utena
- Sunstones’s safety lesson as the ends is similar to Sonic Says segments
- During Steven Tag when Steven falls from the lighthouse then lands in the snow Amethyst points & laugh like Nelson from “The Simpsons”, & When they introduced new opponents they have cards similar to Super Smash Bros. Games
- Both the Mean & Nice Lapis Lazuli are voiced by Lapis’ voice actor Jennifer Paz, & notice that the Nice one has golden freckles is a references to the pyrite specks on real lapis lazuli while as for her appearance she looks like Hikari from Evangelion
- Lapis making her water form is a reference Avatar the Last Air Bender when Aang fused with the Ocean Spirit
- When Steven first pokes the alien-flower lifeform you can hear the Item Pickup sound effect from “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”
Larissa Gallagher trying to be cockney was truly cringeworthy
I’d recommend getting into Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. It’s my second favorite show from when I was younger (Steven is 1st obviously.). It has 3 seasons and I’m sure you guys would like it.
A show I would love to see them react to is Tangled the Series. The music quality is on par with Steven Universe and the story is amazing!!!!

I would say that "OK.K.O" would be really fine to witness on a channel.
"Infinite Train" also would be fine - it's not finished, but it was ok for a lot of people and me in the end.
"Green Eggs and Ham" of 2019 - it's also short and not many people know about it, although this is one of the most successful adaptations of Dr. Seuss stories, it is at least better than "Horton", much better than the cartoon "Grinch".
"Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts" - short, cool, kinda unic, wonderful sound design, has the style is slightly reminiscent of the anime "The Boondocks" from 2005.
"Wander Over Yonder" - series of about the same level and period as Steven Universe, two seasons, cool episodes, no storyline (almost), but excellent individual stories.
"Star vs the Forces of Evil" - chaos on the level of Gumball, magic, a cross-cutting plot, a quarter shorter than Steven, not a masterpiece, but I didn't regret it at the time.
"Hilda" is a pleasant and amazing series based on Norwegian-British folklore, or rather, it is based on a series of books that incorporate it. Quite short, with a cross-cutting plot, and excellent animation.
My recommendation is Hilda. I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but it's a fantastic show.
I loved the bluebird episode, seeing Eyeball and Aquamarine again and the odd, hilarious relationship they have. They can only bond over their hatred for Steven, but Aquamarine did say all fusions become sentimental after some time. So, either she's wrong, or she'll get attached to Eyeball at some point
she already is, she carried her away, even when it was clear their team has no hope against them.
I can see that happening and I am not the only one considering certain AUs I’ve seen.
Hasn't anyone noticed the onion language spoken by him and his dad is very similar to the language spoken by plants Steven has animated.
Rose probably animated literal onions
🤯🤯 Amazing theory dude!
Infinity train, the dragon prince, and ok ko are really good shows 👍 (fun fact the creator of ok ko (Ian Jones-Quartey) is married to the creator of steven universe (Rebecca sugar)
Some of the best parts of the future series. We kept getting pieces of the reality of Steven’s hyper vigilance (PTSD)
For the later half of his childhood it world breaking event after learning to get emotional distress, world saving event. With no real break for himself.
Often he was the adult in the room.
We are seeing Steven attempt to learn how to be “himself even when he is not saving the universe & others.
20:36 The return of the two Beetles from early Steven after the reversal of the corruption. Garnett's little students.
A great show to replace Steven universe would be Centaurworld. It's a musical cartoon like Steven Universe and has a TON of amazing songs with a TON of Broadway talent including Kimiko Glenn (Waitress), Megan Hilty (Wicked), Jessie Mueller (Waitress) lea salonga (Les Misérables), brian stokes mitchell (many Broadway shows including Ragtime), and finally, Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton). It has a nice blend of both comedy and seriousness that always keeps you wanting more! Centaurworld is an amazing show with some amazing characters so I hope y'all watch it!
Fun fact: The green tone in Bluebird's coloration is malachite, which is why she has four legs like the Malachite fusion.
I think the animators are having fun with Sunstone's cheesy 90's PSA vibe.
Jumpscare of a jumpscared Pearl is funny af.
I would like to recommend the Infinity Train, it is not so popular, but it is very interesting from a psychological point of view
My recommendation?
OK KO let's be heroes
That show doesn't get the love it deserves, also is made by ian jones who worked in storyboarding in adventure time and was also and animator and co-producer in Steven universe
My recommendations for new shows to watch, Dragon Prince(I call it the spiritual successor to AtLA/LoK) , Space Dandy(Its like Johnny Bravo meets Cowboy Bebop, simply amazing) , OK KO(same short form style show about a world of superheroes and villain's), Bravest Warriors(from the makers of Adventure Time, its about a group of friends in space, its hilarious)
I would love to see OK KO: Lets be Heroes on the channel
I absolutely adore Why so Blue, because I'm honestly a sucker for Lapis. I like to think that Mean Lapis and Nice Lapis were Era 2 Lapises which is they needed to cooperate with each other to control a sizable amount of water. So Era 1 Lapis comes sweeping and just absolutely overpowering them with little effort is just so captivating and satisfying.
Mean lapis's words "After that ridiculous show of strength" just points out how absurdly powerful Lapis is
Just so you guys know, amethyst has long hair because she looks up to greg, amethyst used to have short hair, and greg had long hair. Now its the other way around
I don't know how much you guys are into pokémon but the Pokémon Generations and Pokémon Evolutions episodes are SO FIRE. The are about the stories of the games and are super short so you can do a lot of them at once.
I hope you continue to watch She-ra after you guys finish Steven universe.
Can you see how every character has been moving forward? But Steven...
Rainbows ability to rearrange and bring life to stuff like that is insanely op
I think the reason Onion didn't change is because he's like 8 years old in Steven Universe Future, so that would make him like 6 at the end of Steven Universe.
Bro hit em with the “father, go inside” 😭
I'm going to make that Amethyst 's eating habits spreadsheet.
Not sure if you guys were already planning on continuing with it already, but maybe you could carry on watching She-Ra and the Princesses of Power?
I love how everybody explains everything else except the mystery of onion not ageing
I swear, the joke episodes of future are easily my favorites, they're cleverly silly
if you haven't already seen it before then you should definitely react to Danny Phantom, it's on the older side but it's soooo good!
35:16 those four perfectly timed UH OH’S were hilarious
I dont think anything else could truly fill the void of no more steven the way steven could. If I had to recommend anything I dont think you guys have watched, maybe Danny Phantom or My Life as a Teenage Robot? Maybe even Craig of the Creek could be interesting.
THANK you SS, crazy coincidence cuz literally last night I watched your future reactions on the first 4 and it JUST SO HAPPENS u drop the last ones today!
Re: what series you guys should react to, i'd LOVE Neon Genesis Evangelion, which is ironically similar to Steven Universe in it has a 14 year old boy thrust into a destiny by his deceased mother he never signed up for, but Evangelion pretty much takes the exact opposite tonal approach, in that it is dark and grounded and explores the damaged of it's characters a lot, but is amso still a lot of fun and is AMAZINGLY well directed/choregraphed, animated, and written.
11:11 Pink was reset by Spinel and Steven's powers come from her. He might remember how, but she didn't. That's why the powers come back all at once when Steven has gone through all the things to remind her of who she was/is.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Revolutionary girl Utena. It was a major influence on Steven Universe and is a great series well worth a watch.
YES YES YES YES. Such an important and iconic work. I’d also be super happy for Future Boy Conan, which i think is delightfully in their wheelhouse (and is also an influence on SU and also a whole genre of animation).
Never occurred to be but yeah I could see them enjoying it. @@iesika7387
I always wondered what might happen if either the Bluebird fusion or the Lapis who didn’t show up met Jasper… If Jasper found a way to fuse with one of them, I imagine the resulting fusion would either mess with little homeworld - or worse, mess with some rando humans!
She-Ra and The Princesses of Power, is also suitable for a recommendation, a good show
They already tried that one, but I think they stopped after season 1 cos they didnt get enough views on it.
The 'Connie episode' is my favorite episode of Future! Can't wait for your reaction!
14:38 I never realized that might've been Greg's hair! 🤣I always thought it was much darker. 😅👀
17:17 nvm. They knew it would come off creepy!
No one talks about how Strong Lapis is I mean yeah she is awesome and she can take down almost anyone but the fact that she went thru a lifetime of torture and she just learned to be better, instead of being mad with the world, she understood the streng of patience and peace
You guys should react to infinity train after Steven!!! It was originally a cartoon Network show i think?? Wasn't childlike enough so got moved elsewhere lmao
Took me a bit to come up with a recommendation for a cartoon for yall to react to but. here it is: Craig of the Creek! it's such a comfort show of my sister and i's. it feels like the crew took all of their best childhood memories of like playing pretend and hanging with other kids, mixed it with some cartoon magic, and made it a show. it feels so nostalgic and it's just such a fun, joyful time. you'll feel like a kid again watching it.
AND there's a severe lack of reactions to it
7:28 I mean I wouldn't attack him, cuz he's amazing at fighting too, but I can relate to them that is so funny.
Can we appreciate that the gems fuse with just one touch? That's an amazing growth and bound right there
sorta stupid I've been watchin y'all for a year now y'all are my favorite reacters I love y'all thx for making my day
I had a funny idea where Alexandrite does that "watch yo tone" slap to Bluebird Azurite and she bounces around the beach before unfusing.
i would absolutely lose it if they gave the venture bros a shot!!! it may not be as popular as some other stuff but it’s fantastic and only gets better as it goes on and deserves some love
17:46 Well, now we know that they can make horror films 😊
I’d love to see you react to Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts at some point! It’s got a compelling plot, dope ass music, a very unique art style and really fun and complex characters!
Early! I’m so happy y’all are watching su and I can’t wait for the next episode!
love Snow Day, probably my favorite episode of Future
Funny story, inbetween the first four episodes airing and Bluebird and AVSE airing, I checked out and got way too into Zach Callison's EP A Picture Perfect Hollywood Heartbreak and that painted an interesting picture in how I viewed Steven for the rest of Future (I know actors aren't their characters)
"Make him clean it up him damn self" took me out
Love the steven tag episode lmao so many fusions I wish we got to see
This is just a appreciative boring comment.
You guys are really the best reactioners on the internet for me rn. Keep up with these kind of videos. Buff I just know you're the best father. Boom you can talk about math and i would still laugh. Eric you're the sweetest and Hman is just the best Human being
centaurworld would be great reaction series. its so slept on
You should totally watch Centaurworld. it's a lol like Steven, it got a great plot, mystery, songs and crying. It would be great if you gave it a shot.
Guys, i've gotta say, i got here for Steven, but stayed for Ben 10, Adventure time (also a big fan of both) and a lot more. Your reactions are amazing, very funny commentary but also you dive enough you get invested in the story and care for the characters, something that imo not everyone does, big respect.
I am ready for you too see more it gets more crazy as the episodes go along
Someone put a Smash Bros UI over the Steven Tag scenes, it kinda elevated the scene
Yeah, there's Lapises and there's _our_ Lapis who can hold down a Jasper fusion and not flinch from Blue Diamond's sadness, they are not the same. But alas, we don't see anything come from the other Lapises, which was weird since only one came to Little Homeschool.
from what i remember lapis was specifically in blue diamonds court thats probably why she was more stronger than the other lapis
Taking care of and making sure long hair is also nice and feels good on you DOES take forever and hard work. I have decent hair but I do bare minimum. (I have adhd, shits hard man) but my husband? He spent years growing his out. Maintains it with oils and conditioners. He brushes it every day and night before bed. He LOVES his hair. Then due to circumstances after a move he needed to take a line cook job...that required him to cut it. He was so mad he shaved it, AND his big beard. Nearly cried too. But he did it because hed rather shave it all off than cut it mess it up. He really felt greg this episode lmao.
You guys have got to do flapjack next. Absolute banger
I would like to see OK.KO when this ends
Lapis once lifted earth's entire ocean while she was still cracked. Those two never had a chance...
17:49 If you hear the hiss (s), Pearl was the snake 🐍 all along
I'd recommend Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and Centaurworld for more animated shows. Both have fantastic animation, wonderful characters, and intriguing stories.
(Replacement show recemendations)
Anything from flying bark productions honestly, rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles was produced by flying bark animation wise. A really good show from flying bark would be Lego monkie kid & moon girl & devil dinosaur!
It was always so funny that the diamonds the literal dictators are the ones to turn good but aquamarine and Ruby stayed being evil which is fine I like that not everyone is always gonna become a good person but it’s just so wild lol. It was really cool seeing how a Lapis terraforms planets and how they act since our lapis was traumatized so she didn’t act like a proper lapis like the ones in the episode just shows how far she’s come. Her song is also a banger just like distant shore. Pearl shapeshifting is a good development in her character bc she has never shapeshifted ever since she “shattered” pink diamond.
Greg sent that hair out like the Merry
18:38 The crate and benadryl conversation absolutely killed me lmao. I was laughing the whole time
For an extra dose of Steven Universe you guys should also react to their Cartoon Network Dove PSA commercials and the chibi shorts they made !
I just realized that Garnet calls their cat, "Cat Steven". Like the artist Cat Stevens / Yusuf.
My recommendations would be:
- Code Lyoko
A cartoon about teenagers entering a virtual world to stop an evil force attacking the real world
- Xiaolin Showdown
A group of young monks who must collect powerful items before the villains find them first, a bunch of fighting and interesting challenges that you might enjoy.
- We Bare Bears
Three bears who try to fit into human society, each having their own unique personality and interests
- My Life As A Teenage Robot
A robot superhero who tries to live her life as a regular teenage girl
- TMNT (2003 series)
One of the best TMNT series, it's full of amazing fighting scenes and it's surprisingly dark. A lot of messed up things happen in this series.
- Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force GO! (Yes that's the full name)
A cartoon that doesn't get talked about a lot. It's a cartoon that feels like you're watching an anime but isn't an anime. Pleasing art style and colors.
I would recommend "infinity train" and "Hilda"
37:22 if any of you guys have heard or are interested in journey to the west kinda stuff, i recommend Lego Monkie Kid! it kinda takes place in a modern futuristic after the journey but the story and animation is really good! its currently waiting for season five to drop this year! (season 1 and 2 do have before season specials)
