    Store oily peanut butter upside down so the oils go to the top (which is now the bottom). That way your PB won't dry out since it'll still have the oils in it.

    • @NA-sr8kf
      @NA-sr8kf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do that with Adam's pb so it's easier to stir.

      I stir it when it's room temperature so the oils mix in. Then when I store in the fridge, I store it upside down. Never have a problem with the oils. (Edit: this is for peanut butter that just has peanuts and not those other ingredients.)

      Don't be afraid of the salt 😊 just the sugar and any other extra ingredients! Salt makes it taste yummmyyy and it's not bad for you at all, i probably eat about 50g a day of Himalayan Pink Salt and blood work and blood pressure is 100% on point. It's sad how much the "health food experts" mislead the general public over false claims :( i of course drink 2 gallons of water a day as well so im sure that helps keep me in homeostasis 😂

      @Kyle Ingram Although it probably hasn’t affected you much, 50g/50,000mg seems like quite a lot of sodium to be having in one day.

      The water and probably a good diet is a balancer. However, you also are misleading the public. The medical industry is not a health food expert. However, your heart and kidneys and liver and lungs say watch your sodium intake. Watching sugar to carb ratio AS WELL AS sodium intake will prevent organ failure and stroke or heart attack. Everyone's body chemistry and genetics are different. Most diabetics are inherited but just because you "get away" with it doesn't make you any better than a "health expert". It just makes you another person with an opinion not based on data. @@kyleingram3678

  • @summerrose1545

    No added sugar is higher in calories because the total weight or volume consists of more fats (whole peaniuts and oil) vs less peanuts and oil to make up total volume or weight together with the sugar.
    Sugar/ carb is 4 calories while fat is 9 calories per gram.

    I just did this exact same taste test a few days ago and to me Jif is better. Skippy tastes saltier and has a less peanut buttery taste. Also, Jif is a little softer and easier to scoop out of the jar. For me the winner is Jif all day long.

    I've never seen these before, so are they a new item? I love the blue color of the containers because they are eye catching. I can't help but wonder why some one would prefer these over the regular peanut butter with sugar when the calories are the same. I'll still stick with powdered peanut butter.

    I don't think you're a low carb couple but the reason for not using PB with added sugar is more to do with restricting carbs as opposed to calories. It's not a lot of added sugar and even with added sugar it is still pretty reasonable for carbs.

    You are always supposed to stir natural peanut butter and any peanut butter with oil on the top, storing them in the cupboard upside down helps when you open it in order to stir it easier as well.
    I only buy a local natural and organic peanut butter because that is the best one I've ever had. I can't eat the other stuff, just tastes gross and waxy to me so I would probably pass on both of these anyway.

    So for YEARS now I have been buying the Jif WHIPPED p.b., and just recently learned that Jif has discontinued making the Whipped stating that it was not a good seller. So, we were bummed to learn this. The reason I investigated is because all the stores in my area had bare shelves and I wanted to find out what was going on with it. Then, a couple weeks ago I went shopping at Marc’s and found Peter Pan WHIPPED p.b. so I bought a couple jars of that.

      It has NO ADDED sugar, but it does have sugar. It really is the same amount as the regular. 2 Tablespoons of regular creamy Jif is 3g sugar (incl 2 added), while the no sugar added has 2g sugar (incl 0 added). The latter has 7g carbs and 3g fiber (you subtract fiber from carbs so it is 4) rather than 8g carbs and 2g fiber (6). The regular has 16g fat and 140g sodium, 7g protein and 190 cal., while the lighter has 17g fat and 55 sodium, 8g protein and 200 cal.

    I love sugar free PB... as you know I only eat All Natural. Literally just Roasted Peanuts & Sea salt. Sure it's a pain to have to stir to mix in the oil (I do the whole turning it upside down also) but its worth it knowing that I won't be getting any added sugar... I honestly don't like sweet PB
    Its weird that the JIF PB acts in such a way... Maybe they should write on the jar to stir it... despite the added Palm oil (which normally ensures one does not have too...). Compared to Skippy which has the same ingredients but not as runny... Maybe the JIF one has been longer on the shelf (compared to the Skippy jar) and therefore the oil has had more time to "separate" from the peanuts... therein the runniness and more greasy feel.

    • @TamiDunn
      @TamiDunn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We thought it was odd as well!

    • @Torniization
      @Torniization 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sheela Narayanan You don't necessarily have to turn it upside down :) It can just make the whole stirring operation easier, especially if the PB has been sitting for a while with all the oil collected at the top and the the actual PB mass under it is hard a rock lol...
      How many times I have accidently "splashed" peanut oil on me because I thought it would be easy to stir lmao
      This can be the case with a new jar that you just bought. Who knows how long its been sitting right side up until you bought it... Once you've incorporated the oil back in - it will take a while for it to separate again (store it in the fridge for it to keep longer :) ) So its always easier to stir after the first round.
      With the non stir versions, it wouldn't be needed to turn it upside down as there is already oil blended into the PB. This is in most cases Palm oil. Done for convenience as you won't need to stir it. Not sure if it has an affect on the consistency of the PB but maybe it makes it creamier also.
      Its a preference thing :) Its not a must to turn it but it may help on the first stir. You'd also need to turn it a few days prior to you wanting to use it as it will need time to "sink" back in haha
