I literally just bought around $40 in bottled water a couple weeks ago to do just this. Personally, I found that they are all good, just some have a more metallic taste, which I don't mind. I didn't do Dasani, or Aquafina, I did like alkaline 88, waiakeia, armor something, I don't even remember all of them... It's not something you could reliably take the opinion of someone else about, it's personal preference. There not much objectivity to it, foods are a pretty subjective experience. 🤔😊

Cheap peanut butters usually have less peanut oil in them, which makes them less creamy but you also get a more peanut flavor as its not thinned out with oil so i like cheaper.
Just make your own. Buy roasted salted peanuts. Throw them in a food processor with some honey. Turn it on and let it run. Put in some sugar if you want but the honey is usually good enough and can add more if you want. When it is done it'll be hot. Let it cool and done. It's cool to see it go from peanuts to crushed peanuts, to thick and chunky to creamy to really creamy. Take quite a few minutes .
You're right about the Great Value brand having a "drier" taste. But I'd like to see you try it all again after stirring the peanut butter in each jar before tasting...mixing the oils and the peanut butter together. It makes the peanut butter more smooth and moist.
With the GV you should always make sure it wasn't made by one of those actual competitors. They're usually rebranding someone else's food as theirs. Just like their "GV all beef hotdogs" are "Nathan's".
Not sure if the taste would be different, but I always mix/stir mine in the jar a bit before eating it to incorporate the oil and peanut butter. I have noticed a difference between stirred and unstirred. Just a thought.
If I had them all sitting in front of me to taste side by side, I'd probably be able to taste differences between them. I've never done that, but I've bought a good number of different brands and can never really tell any difference. They all taste fine to me.
