Thanks for watching Mike! Youtubing outdoor activity is my new hobby in retirement. I like doing anything within my capabilities in the outdoors, including fishing, ice fishing, camping, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, biking, mountain biking, running, hiking, skiing, cross country skiing and anything else that may come up! I was born and raised in Chicago and still live in the far southwest suburbs. That there is a Chicago accent. I go ice fishing a couple times every winter and mix it up between Devils Lake North Dakota and Lake of the woods Minnesota. We will be heading to Lake of the Woods again this winter so check back in around late February as I hope to have another video posted. Hopefully we will catch a lot of fish! If you ever get a chance, go ice fishing on LOTWs at Arnesons resort! Nice cabins, heated fish houses and good restaurant at a reasonable price!
Thank you and thanks for watching! If you ever get a chance to go to Lake of the Woods for ice fishing, I highly recommend Arnesons resort! Last year, the ice was only 12" thick so they transported us to our shack in regular SUVs with tracks on them. The ice needs to be at least 18" for them to take out the bombers. The fishing was really good last January too. We like mixing it up a little so we are going back to Devils Lake North Dakota again this winter. Thanks again for watching, I also have a couple other ice fishing videos if you are interested in watching them! I can't wait to go back.
We will be there again this winter also! LOTW at Arnesons Rocky Point Resort. So far our best lures have been the swedish pimple. Any sizes work but we have the best luck on gold or chartruese. Put the minnows head on the treble hook then snip the body off with scissors. There is no bad lure choice really. Small tungsten jigs work well as do spoons. We jig with one hand but also use another set up for a dead stick. ( put a minnow on a hook with a split shot about 6" above) and lower to about one foot off the bottom. Place that pole in a pole holder, some mount on 5 gallon buckets or some sit right on the ground. Each person has 2 holes to use. ! for the dead stick and one for jigging. Sometimes we get more action on the dead sticks! I will be posting my LOTWs video to you tube in early February. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Hi Ken, I just got back from my Lake of the Woods ice fishing trip and we caught most of our walleye on a gold and pink medium size buckshot with the rattle beads in it! We did limit out on walleye and sauger but only caught a few perch and northern! Good luck if you go! Anything with pink or gold or the combination of both was working well.
Your accents have a hint of the north east in there. Fun vid.
