WOW! This was soooo powerful. In full blown tears, I walked away from a church I went to where abuse was so normalized. I submitted thinking I simply had to endure for the greater good but after 9 years I left. Once I left I was shamed, that I had not finished my commission there and prophets would send messages to me I would come back in a horrible state humbled. I have struggled for months with extreme guilt and shame (To be clear I did not walk away from God; just changed churches). I was in a place where I experienced abuse in more ways I can express as a former worship leader. The guilt has not allowed me to move forward, I have felt like I've disappointed God to the extreme by leaving that church. My mental health was deuterating so profoundly I was scared what would become of me if I remained in a place of constant humiliation and manipulation. Hearing that prayer at the end was soo refreshing and life giving, like I actually have a chance to heal from all I experienced. I want to be free from all the PTSD and lack of trust I have in spiritual leaders and the prophetic. Please pray for me!!

Fruit speaks of character. Fruitfulness speaks of good works. If a pastor a preacher or a singer does not have a loving joyful peaceful good kind character or demeanor, you are not obligated to listen to them. Fellowship is supposed to be with people you like not with mean not nice unlikable people. The 9 fruit test is the first thing you should do, especially with leadership. Corrupt clergy members are the ones that hurt congregations. Wolves posing as shephards and sheep.
People go to random churches out of assumptions and obligation and if they dont know scriptural definitions they might feel forced to sit and listen to a lack of character person, for no good reason.
Look at the fruit of the tree first. Before you eat it. #fruitbeforefeast to avoid famine.

Replacing scriptures with speakers is the problem. Going into the scriptures with expectation and hope is healthy. Going to watch a speaker with expectation and hope is just setting yourself up for a major whipping. Your only supposed to open yourself up and be vulnerable with Christ in your personal time. Sunday services are supposed to be confirmation. Thats it. Hyper consumerism in western society sets people up to expect to be catered to. But when a corrupt, no good, lack of character person uses the good name of a political party, an activist movement or a religious denomination to cater to themselves it is a huge offense. They throw these people out in other religions or they boycott or tell on them. Thats why brian carn has had to build his way back up because somebody has had the good sense to use the tool of rebuke the right way.
