    Long time Orbi RBK753 user. Two adults WFH, streaming multiple 4KUHD streams + music for kids. I have 1G Spectrum home internet and cover 2400sq/ft with ease (and generous coverage into front and back yards).
    WTH is Netgear thinking? I bought my 3-piece set for $389 at Costco in 2020. I have force-streamed 2 8K UHD streams (Dolby vision) that I then downscaled to 4K just to test bandwidth....zero issues and no lag. Both videos started immediately.

    Man, who buys these things? Who exactly is it made for? Anything over $1k just seems like a waste of money to me. I am still rocking the Eero 6 Pro, and it's flawless in a 4,300 sft house. Only set me back $450, which at the time was high.

    I have a house in Mexico that is built with Brick and concrete walls (internal and external) and the ceilings are reinforced concrete with steal rebar and quite thick. I am on 3 levels. What is the best Mesh Network to use in this system? I do have Fiber internet coming in and the ability to have wired internet on every level. The house is longer an narrow. It is row housing. I also have back deck and front desk. Thanks for your input.

    I've been a long time user of the Orbi 750 series and it's been an excellent introduction to Wifi 6 + mesh systems. However I bought a 2 pack and wanted to expand and buy a third satellite only to find that they're not back compat friendly and are limited to certain models which are extremely hard to find at retail if they're not a current model. Compared to competitors like Eero and Deco which are back compat to any model, that's when I knew that I would eventually leave Orbi. Plus Deco seems to be priced very competitively right now for their 6E and 7 systems. Orbi is a great product but not consumer friendly for expanding older/existing systems.

    Wow, what a letdown these are! If I "upgrade" from my 2020 Orbi system I get FEWER Ethernet ports on the satellite. Spend more, get less. I like my current Orbi pair but I'd like to migrate towards 10Gb Ethernet. Time to look at other brands, I guess.

    You are right. Nobody needs all three Orbi routers and I am not talking about price, I am talking about the coverage. The only people who have 10,000 square feet are the rich and famous with huge mansions. One router is all needed, however Netgear needs to make small WiFi Extenders that can be placed on ceilings not walls, kinda like WiFi Access Points. The mesh WiFi Extenders that are placed on walls are a bad place. Just saying...

    • @TheXshot

    I see a lot of comments confused about why Netgear would make something this pricey and powerful. It's funny because I'm also not the target audience for something like this, but that's the point. It makes no sense to complain about something you don't have a big enough home for or enough devices to need. Netgear makes less powerful and more affordable routers so the average consumer can still have a positive internet experience in respect to the size of their home. I'm sure 6-figure+ consumers appreciate having something made for them. Stop complaining about something that clearly wasn't designed for the Average Joe...

    Looks like Netgear dropped the ball with the Orbi 900 Series .... Especially with limited wired connectivity between Router and Satellites .... considering this is already a competitor feature that was done right.
    Stick with the Orbi 800 Series and wait for the next generation.

    Wifi 7 is basically pointless for any home user. Wifi 6 is already overkill in most cases. Most corporations won't even be on Wifi 6, to say nothing of 7. Also, in my considered opinion, anyone who buys this system for over $2 grand over professional grade Ruckus access points is out of their mind. Ruckus Unleashed is a controller-less (ie, no controller on prem) system where you can add multiple access points that form a single network mesh. Ruckus is probably (in my opinion) the best at Wifi to this day, with patented uber-beamforming and overall just fantastic quality. A top of the line-ish model 750 access point with Wifi 6 is $7-800 or some such - I'm not 100% positive it supports Unleashed which should probably be verified first, but a couple of those would be so so much better than any Orbi. I don't get who this Orbi system is for, frankly. People with more money than sense?

    • @andykillsu

    • @tnypxl
      @tnypxl ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@andykillsu It's too early. Many existing devices still use Wifi 5, new devices are just now adopting Wifi 6. Its just NOT a smart purchase given the market. Future-proofing is a rich man's game. Netgear is clearly aiming at you and early adopters who are silly enough to buy this at this price.
