I'm the same way with exhausts! When I get them I think they're too loud at first, but I grow into them after a few days. I cut the mufflers off my IS350 and drove around with them in the trunk for 2 days until I was like 'Ok! I like this!' Your car sounds soooooo much better now! Sounding like a racecar!

I liked that set up too but I’m starting to dig a more muffled sound because I would want to hear the supercharger. The last set up is a lot louder in person but I like the fact that I can still cruise and it be mellow and then when I gun it, it screams. That’s how it should be rather than being obnoxious all the time hha

Just got the '18 F-sport, I am a little torn from the little things that are frustrating, like no spot for keys or wallet really, display input lag, cup holder. But honestly the debt I'm in to own it is worth it to me because I just stare at my car sometimes, first car I've had that has been this breathtaking 😄

I feel for you man. Had the same headache while did it myself on my es300 a while ago. It was like 4-6 iterations until I got desired outcome. Your final result sounds pretty good though. Pretty classy I would say in comparison to the interim ones. Good job!

@@JasonNguyen and one more thing. It's crucial to maintain the same diameter throughout the entire exhaust. Like picture when those 3 header pipes meet, you get, for instance, 2 inches for the big pipe. And those 2 inches MUST remain through the rest of the exhaust, including resonators, pipes and end mufflers. This helps maintain 1)good flow 2) sound. Don't install resonators/mufflers with a bigger inner tube diameter than the pipes you have. Hope this helps :)

Yeah, it’s tricky with exhaust! You can try the ark midpipe! It has resonators AND cats. It sounds super deep but they don’t sell it by itself😔 You have to buy the whole catback
Jason Nguyen dang, I know Invidia has short resonators, but idk about the sound cause eventually I want to get my downpipe and charge pipe with a intake.
On the same boat as you bro, love my remark axle back but have been hesitant to delete the resonators, i feel like it’ll make it an annoying loud lmaooo
Kenny S Although I agree I would also think it might sound a little Rice or it might just be no longer throaty. I know people change the resonators to different ones and it can get more throaty and sound like a Vette but I’m not entirely sure what brands they use.
xLexusRenz yeah I’ve heard of people putting in some vibrant resonators or bottle resonators similar to what @jason is running and the seems to have a decent sound to it. Props to jason tho for going the extra mile to get that perfect sound 🤟🏽🔥

Hey man I have an IS350 with a full J2engineering exhaust and I can say that while the cabin drone makes it seem like the car doesn’t sound that great, listening to the car with an aftermarket exhaust system sounds 1million times better outside than inside😂 it also takes a week or so for it to properly kick in. Every car is different though, purs like a fricken beast though, I say keep it🔥

And it wasn’t that great broken in either. For each set up... the last one which is current, is my favorite by far! I love how it sounds without being so over the top! Hey J, so I’m thinking about putting on Vibrant resonators on my IS as well. I have the 1792 Vibrant “Bottle Style” in mind as well. 2.5” inlet/outlet. 12” or 18” long resonator. Would shorter or longer be better for noise and how nice it would sound? I was thinking of just maybe getting the same size as the stocks, though I don’t exactly know what size the stocks are… 🫤😅 Right now I only have a remark axleback, and I want to hear more of the growl throughout the rev range. But, I’m not really ready to drop a big bag-yet-for an actual midpipe. Also, does the 3is have One or Two Resonators? I have a ‘19. Advice would be GREATLY appreciated 🤝🙏🏼
Hey man! I’m not too sure on how it’ll sound.. it’s all trial and error. You won’t know unless you’ve tried it yknow? I only know what my previous set ups have sounded like cause I had to go through a lot of trial and error, adding things, removing things etc. The bottle style resonator is a good resonator though! The 3is 250/350 should have two resonators. Idk about the 200t/300. I’ve never looked underneath my dads car haha

I don’t really like the sound of an x-pipe personally. But I am running PPE headers with an Apexi midpipe with extra vibrant resonators and magnaflow hi flow cats☺️
I think Lexus if you don’t mind it not having potential to become faster. An Infiniti G37 he potential to be faster. But if you want a car that looks nicer and is so much more luxurious, I’d go with Lexus. I think 2014-2016 is the best for the IS! It’s more affordable and a newer body style!

I scrape my apr splitter all the time. I’m on bags and it’s meh. The apr splitter is pretty durable because it’s actually fiberglass topped with CF.

And those 2 inches MUST remain through the rest of the exhaust, including resonators, pipes and end mufflers. This helps maintain 1)good flow 2) sound. Don't install resonators/mufflers with a bigger inner tube diameter than the pipes you have. Hope this helps :)

Yeah, it’s tricky with exhaust! You can try the ark midpipe! It has resonators AND cats. It sounds super deep but they don’t sell it by itself😔

Kenny S Although I agree I would also think it might sound a little Rice or it might just be no longer throaty. I know people change the resonators to different ones and it can get more throaty and sound like a Vette but I’m not entirely sure what brands they use.

Hey man I have an IS350 with a full J2engineering exhaust and I can say that while the cabin drone makes it seem like the car doesn’t sound that great, listening to the car with an aftermarket exhaust system sounds 1million times better outside than inside😂 it also takes a week or so for it to properly kick in. Every car is different though, purs like a fricken beast though, I say keep it🔥

Hey J, so I’m thinking about putting on Vibrant resonators on my IS as well. I have the 1792 Vibrant “Bottle Style” in mind as well. 2.5” inlet/outlet. 12” or 18” long resonator. Would shorter or longer be better for noise and how nice it would sound? I was thinking of just maybe getting the same size as the stocks, though I don’t exactly know what size the stocks are… 🫤😅
Right now I only have a remark axleback, and I want to hear more of the growl throughout the rev range. But, I’m not really ready to drop a big bag-yet-for an actual midpipe.
Also, does the 3is have One or Two Resonators? I have a ‘19. Advice would be GREATLY appreciated 🤝🙏🏼
Hey man! I’m not too sure on how it’ll sound.. it’s all trial and error. You won’t know unless you’ve tried it yknow? I only know what my previous set ups have sounded like cause I had to go through a lot of trial and error, adding things, removing things etc.
The bottle style resonator is a good resonator though! The 3is 250/350 should have two resonators. Idk about the 200t/300. I’ve never looked underneath my dads car haha

I don’t really like the sound of an x-pipe personally. But I am running PPE headers with an Apexi midpipe with extra vibrant resonators and magnaflow hi flow cats☺️

I think Lexus if you don’t mind it not having potential to become faster. An Infiniti G37 he potential to be faster. But if you want a car that looks nicer and is so much more luxurious, I’d go with Lexus. I think 2014-2016 is the best for the IS! It’s more affordable and a newer body style!
