You're confusing the preroll with secondary time display. Preroll is always in bar&beats, and in the second example you've just set 1 beat preroll instead of 1 second. The format seems to be Bars.Beats.Eighths.(unknown). I don't know what the 4th value represent, it is not 16ths notes, nor milliseconds as far as I can tell, but setting it in 1 makes a very very tiny preroll.

    Hi Chris!
It is possible to raise the Gain by clicking approximately in the middle of the event using the Pencil Tool. Then a blue line will appear in the middle of the event. And then it is possible to raise the Clip gain and lower it as needed. The prerequisite for this is that the Clip was recorded at least to -6 or -3 dB in Peak, but if not, it is always possible to set it to a higher Gain and then use the Pencil Tool to click approximately in the middle of the event and then you can raise the Gain and lower it him however you want.
    Greetings! :-)

Great tips! But when you set the grid to Relative snap you don't need to set a snap point in the sample editor for each file. So it's faster that way. Cheers

I have been using Cubase since before version 5 and didn't know of some of these tips. My favorite was turning off the plugins to stop latency. That tip alone solved a long standing problem with my templates. Even though my template tracks were disabled I was still getting latency through the plugins on FX and group tracks. Turning off the plugins solved that problem. Thank you!!!

    Hello Chris, great video today!
I am not at my studio computer right now, but I remember I had some issues trying to set the metronome for a song that was at 100 bpm in 12/8. After a lot of intents I ended setting 6/8 at 200 bpm. But I wasn't able to find a way to set 12/8 telling Cubase the eighth note must be at 100 bpm. I think Cubase takes the tempo understanding that it is always a quarter note.

These tips are awesome! How to get the metronome bpm to take the dotted-quarter or half notes? I have to try the 6/8 feature, but it didn't seem to take the dotted-quarter = 120bpm. Dorico does it, but I have yet to get Cubase to do it.
