Man, this brings so many memories back. I grew up with Danny. We sat in his parent's basement where he played the piano and drew his art. It was his world down there. I would sit next to him and play my guitar along with his songs. When I saw him in New Orleans he told me he still had it all on his cassette tapes. Hearing his voice I can close my eyes and remember like it was yesterday sitting there with him, I even remember the smell of the place. Danny was an awesome friend.
That documentary was one of the best things ever created. Because it exists I have heard one of the most incredibly brilliant song writers of all time. I have played every album over and over again. I'm glad he got the exposure. Even if he were totally sane I'd obsess on his music.

That guy sings with his soul, he doesn't need any fancy production. His lyrics stop me in my steps. FANTASTIC.
