    I have a Maverick and, while I admire several very good traits it has, there are clear deficiencies in the design. Ford could address those shortcomings with this Ranchero. Being built on the same platform, one would expect this new truck to be built with the same wheelbase. By eliminating the rear seats, Ford will have plenty of room to include a FULL 6' bed. Not all drivers have any use for a back seat but would appreciate an efficient pick up that can actually haul a full sized load. I would envision a Ranchero as a lower priced, lighter weight and more economical model alongside the existing Maverick.

      @@troytroyus913 These are not trucks for farmers or construction workers. They are for people who haul small things like the occasional load of dirt or mulch for gardening or a piece of furniture to help a friend out. That's what small trucks have always been for. I'm glad we are getting back to small trucks instead of oversized POS that people can't park and just drive to the mall with their 7.0L diesel. I like the Maverick but I would still rather have an S-10. I really do wish trucks would go back to being a work vehicle and not a massive luxury family hauler with a bed that rarely if ever gets used. Crew cabs are meant to haul work crews around not families nor are they meant to be super comfortable. Family hauler with a small bed should be delegated to something mid sized like the Explorer truck. It holds a family of 5, small bed can handle most things people do and on the super rare occasion more cargo room is needed for say 2x4s, Uhaul rents trailers super cheap for that 1 day out of the year.

    I can understand the concept for this, main thing is will dealers cooperate? Personally the 4 door Maverick fits my family's needs better however for small business owners and light delivery companies the Ranchero would be a better fit. However if they can't keep dealers from gouging the customers then there will be issues. My main question though since I remember the the original small Rangers and S10s (chevy Luv anyone) why they thought the Small Pickup market ever went away? And no offense I liked the steel rims look on the Maverick, some others may agree with me. To me biggest disappointment with the Maverick's xlt and Lariat packages was I couldn't replace those ugly aluminum rims with the cheaper steal rims and save a few bucks. I don't care for the enabling 360 "safety" junk since I actually pay attention to my surroundings while driving and not that addicted to my cellphone. Do to some joint issues had the xl had cruise control it would have been the base model all the way for me.

    My very first car was a 66 Ranchero beautiful car that my dad gave me that he bought new. All I can say if this new Ranchero has four doors it's not a Ranchero. Only two doors, Ford never made a four-door Ranchero. It would look so cool as a two-door, but Ford probably won't make it like that. Everybody wants four doors and they don't care how ugly it makes the vehicle look. If it's a two-door I'll probably buy one if it's a four-door I won't even waste my time.

    If they make a 2 door with a 6 or 7 foot bed and Awd I'd be interested, otherwise they can keep it. Too many 4 door option out there for crossovers. Keep it simple, leave out all the nonsense touch screens, put the gear shift on the column bench seat and maybe a 5 or 6 speed manual option too. Not everyone wants/needs all the gadgets and gizmos. Lots of old 80's and 90's trucks coming out of fields and being put back to work because nobody builds a compact work truck anymore.

    Bring back the old Ranger with the updated engine/drive setup. It needs a full frame and separate bed and available without a bed. Lots of people want a tool box bed or flat bed.

    Short nose, bucket seat for the driver a 2 seat bench next to it, a foot and a half extra space behind the seat, a 5 foot bed.
    All Terran (AT) tires. 1 extra inch of ground clearance over vehicle it's based on, lean on the boxy side of styling on the bed side. Anticipate sales of a successful NICHE product

    My sister had a Maverick Grabber. So, for me, the Maverick name belongs on a sporty, 2-door coupe, not on a pickup truck.
    A proper Ranchero, especially as a PHEV to negate range anxiety, would be worth considering when it comes time to trade in one of the current vehicles.

    Ford's handling of the mavericks launch has been disastrous for consumers. Thousands and thousands of people have been waiting over a year for their order, Ford knew they sold far more than they could make, but continued selling. I'll be trading mine in as soon as there's a competitor. Garbage company.

    • @kirkcardoso6137

    • @mattpike7268
      @mattpike7268 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kirkcardoso6137 there's no need to white knight for Ford. There's also no need to try to create some ridiculous scenario like challenging some random Internet commenter to run a multi billion dollar company. If you think year+ long waits with constantly changing communication, dates moving without notice, constraints that aren't shared by other manufacturers (bed liners? Bed extenders? Really?) Are all ok... Then I'm not sure what to say to you. I have reasonable and fair expectations as a customer, and Ford is not meeting them. Incidentally, the closest thing to competitors to a hybrid maverick are not having these communication and production disasters. What you prefer is completely irrelevant.

    I would envision the Ranchero to be a coupe utility (that's half car and half truck) that's V8 powered, rear wheel drive, and a long bed to haul some stuff, also no stupid EcoBoost engines, to me they just don't hold up over time.

    I remember saying just last year the muscle cars with the pickup bed needed to make a comeback. I want something that I can load with common building materials, but not be so heckin' huge. My 2018 Ford is difficult to work with; I may go for a Chevy when prices drop since I could get in the bed easier.

    “Ford underestimated the demand for an affordable pickup truck.” 90% of America is crying out for affordable vehicles. The average price has absolutely skyrocketed to almost 35k for cars that used to be “entry level” vehicles. Wages have been stagnant for years. People are getting car loans for 84 months….. That is completely out of control. We need a massive change right now and yet it seems nothing can be done. We’re completely at the mercy of these massive corporations and dealerships that still have $4000 dollar markups.

    • @Agueroooo
