GREAT IDEA. Never would have thought of it.. Actually, instead of tint they have a nearly clear ceramic. Its only purpose is for retarding heat infiltration. It is applied in the same manor and is found at a window tinting business. As we get older the tint actually impedes our vision as the daylight decreases. Ha ha
If you are concerned about the plot not getting water - you can do like you did your front lawn and bring a IBC tote full of water from the lake and spray with the pump you used. Stay safe.
Fender extensions and tint the sides and rear windows as dark as you can stand them, you and your passengers will love it. All that big glass is like an being fried with a magnifying glass .
Glad to see inflation is no longer an issue. I hope that 4x4 works out well for you. Looks like a really nice machine. That type machine, six seater, makes sense to you and your family’s needs. I doubt you will abuse it in your work environment.
I just picked mine up on Tuesday…..Limited max loaded…..awesome unit in my opinion ….Perfect for what we are using it for….Canam makes a real nice side by side.
I’ve had several Defender’s on the farm, they have all been xMR. CanAm builds the best UTV’s, most reliable, comfortable and powerful. I take mine on trails and through the wilds. I have several rigid lightbars which you would think would be hard on the alternator but it isn’t. Great UTVs!
Congrats on the new ride. Your Polaris crew is what brought me to your channel many years ago. When I turned 50 I sold my Honda racer and bought a Polaris 700 2 up. Traded that in on a Ranger 1000 in 2020. I figured something with low range would keep me out of trouble. Say hi to Hunter.
I have the same machine and color in a 2023. Congratulations, you will love it! You definitely will want to get the wide fender flares from CanAm. Make a huge difference in not slinging mud and water all over your machine. The 15” light bar on the front bumper is really nice as well. Enjoy!
Nice machine and we’ve run my brothers two Defenders for around 4 years without any issues as all. The removable tool box under seat is very handy…the molded five gallon bucket rings in bed are handy too. No mirrors as they get in way in the wooded areas - for us anyway. You can mount rifle holders under middle seat and just fold it up when need arises, which is handy also. Congrats on purchase and sure you will enjoy it.
I like your UTV! You will get many uses out of it, and grandkids will have great memories of grandma and grandpa taking them on rides. You'll have to get in the 4th of July parades with OWTM banners and let the littles ride along. 😊 Enjoy!!!
Very nice machine Mike. Here in my area of N Central, VT, these machines are quite popular, love those two tone leather seats. You may have said it already as I was in the middle of making a grilled cheese sandwich 4 lunch. Not sure if they still use the Rotax engines in these units, wouldn't be surprised, pretty well proven engine in snow machines... I'm a tad older than you sir at 71 years young, but I've always admired your work ethic. I'm 90% plus recovered from wearing out my muscles & joints. Was on a steroid for (3) mos to get my ' cortisol levels ' mostly back to normal again, been off of them for (9) months as I lost a full year working on my house, slowly getting my stride back again. The moral of the story here: I ain't 35 anymore, I'm 71 & now I have to pace myself moving forward. Keep 'em coming folks! ❤ Bill...
Mike, I really appreciate all the extra time you take for the camera shots. I know it is a lot of work, but it adds so much to your videos. Well done!!
Good morning, Mike. Love the new Defender. I'm 59, a few years older than you, and I bought a 2023 Maverick X3 turbo. Never to old for the turbo, haha! My wife and I are from Northern Wisconsin, and the trails are wonderful for the X3. Enjoy your new ride.
If you’re going to work with it you will need side mirrors. You do want to back your 30k machine in a tree. A high output backup light is also handy. I have a Polaris limited ultimate and love it. The buy American in me made me buy it
Mike, we have over 1,000 hours on our 2018 Defender Max. Add gas change the oil have fun. My second CanAm has a the same engine, higher geared transmission and super charger 2 seats. With it I need the occasional new roll bars 😂😅 we are near Raystown Lake PA
If you concerned about the heat in the new ride. With all the glass. You could get ceramic tint film installed blocks the Infrared rays. You could fit a smaller light bar on the brush guard would be more than bright enough. Lights bars are also cool.
I have an HD10 Defender and l love it. It’s a 2018 with over 1000 miles on it. I highly suggest a kolpin bed rack. We use that a lot as well. The winch is a must have-These machines are heavy, I’m glad you got one. I would also recommend some lights facing rearward for revering at night and loading the cargo box at night.
I would highly recommend tinting the windows with ceramic tint 35% sides and back and 70% on windshield. This will help keep you more comfortable on those hot days in the cab. As far as work lights automotive custom lighting LLC sells a great kit with 3 way switch so the light will come on in reverse or you can switch light on in cab. The front light bar you mentioned imo will be needed for night riding in woods. You'll want to mount a 17 to 20 inch bar on front bumper. Automotive custom lighting LLC sells a plug n play kit for that as well.
Good job, Mike! I think you really have something there with the CanAm Defender. I think it will work well for you, and we look forward to seeing you use it. You know, it is wonderful to hear about your ideas and to see them come to fruition. I think you make a lot of us feel envious. All the very best to you and yours.
Mike, what a great looking machine! You mentioned you never would have dreamed having a side-by-side with power windows, ac etc. in one of these.. I've been watching your channel for some time now and you shared on occasion the ups and downs you've been through, I'm guessing you never thought your hard work would payoff putting you in a position to spend this kind of money on one either. My friend, you earned it! GREAT CHANNEL! Keep it up. Best wishes!
That interior looks like a nice car or truck. That thing is absolutely beautiful! It probably cost more than some cars. And I think it might weigh as much as some cars. Sure is nice. AC, heater, power windows in front, man, that's living. I liked you comment. You won't be as fast of some of those racers but you will get there in comfort! Thanks for sharing with us.
I love the new side by side. That will be lots of fun and a work horse. Just thinking as I look at the food plot, that would be a great place for Malissa’s pool.😂
I have a 2023 Defender Max XR w half doors which is awesome. Did Can-am fix the Can-am bump? That when you turn it off on any grade and it will not crank. If you rock the rig forward and back, the trans neutral safety switch will clunk and you can start it. The Can-am forum describes the method where dealers would not confess the trick.
Mine does it. It's just because it hasn't engaged the park gear. You can tell because the p won't be lit up on the dash until you rock it back and forth to get it to go in park. Wondering if this is normal.
WOW Mike, I don't know how I missed this video on your new Can Am side by side !! What a nice machine for the Morgan family !! Good size and lots of "extras" !! Power windows up front and nice size tipping bed !! Enjoy while you can !!
I had a 2007 Polaris Sportsman, 2 seater, dump bed. It was a lot of fun and utility was very useful. I use it at my rental properties for maintaining the land, Etc. Very useful. There’s no reason these shouldn’t be allowed on roads under 50 miles an hour. I used to do 60 mph on mine, and it was safe.
Love my Can Am Defender, HD10 XMR, Camo Addition. 2 years in... Added rear work lights, custom rear bed mounted winch (Game winch) similar to what Can Am offers and the factory hydraulic dump for the bed. Just had to replace the front windshield due to glass break. Replaced with the Rough Country Electric Tilt Windshield for about half what Can Am wanted for the OEM windshield.
The transmission remains engaged going down hills. Does not free wheel and having a park on the shifter is great. Got one here without the cab and love it.
Mike. I am 61 and That is my Dream Ride. A 3 seater would be fine for me. My local Can am Dealer has one on the lot (twin). Your correct. Not Cheap. It is going for what I was able to buy out my truck for (2018 Silverado LT 4x4). I have a Polaris 570 quad and also I currently have a off shore SxS called a Bennche Cowboy 700 that I am going to sell. OK Machine just not what I need. Bought it for the wife to use in the yard. Maybe when I hit the Lottery. Going Over Tomorrow to drool at it.😍🤩😝
My Goodness what a machine! with all of the bells and whistles is it road approved.. A friend is looking at a golf cart for his beach house... this seems much nicer!
No, it has to have a horn, turn signals and side mirrors installed before it can be road legal, in WV at least. Then it has to be hauled to an approved inspection station to be inspected. Then you can get a WV registration for it.
You made the best choice Mike! Don't think it's a real work horse although it can rise to the occasion if needed. the way you take care of your equipment tells me you will be more than ecstatic with it. Good luck to you and the family
Tons of things you can do with that. From suspension to computer tunes, clutch mods, EVO makes 2 turbo kits for it a mild and hoter set up, camper shells are available for the bed.
Congratulations on your new ride. We bought a Honda Pioneer 1000-5 in 2021. I live in NE Ohio rural area. We take it every local. I understand Pa is somewhatgetting on the off road bandwagon. Someone once said some trails you can start in Pa and ride all the way to TN. Im quite sure your enjoy your machine. Ps you will keep up. They all do about the same. 70-80
I am glad someone is buying new stuff but I would be afraid of scratching it, lol. I have two 1998 Jeep Cherokees I paid $2,000 for which I use on the farm. Its has everything that the side by side has and more but for those that can afford it that looks very nice. Good for you.
Hi, Mike! I recommend a clear window tint that blocks the heat, immensely, but keeps same color tint your windows come with. There are several in the market. Basically, it keeps your cabins cool and improves A/C performance without a dark tint - i.e. suntekfilms, LLumar, etc. A shop where you might get tinted windows should be able to tell you. Well, we have it in one car so far and it's fantastic. Our steering wheel is cool all the time.
We got the same ride they work out great for work and a little playing but much trail riding the axles are extremely weak so we kept it for around our farm and bought a krx1000 for play
@@josephbenge8707 I haven’t had any experience with the commander but I know the maverick stock axels are weak I would assume so one thing we do with the maverick is upgrade the front diff to a halo and run 33 spline cobra axels haven’t tried the can am crews diff yet but I’m sure I’ll get my hands on one eventually
Hey Mike that a good looking side by side. It looks very well equipped. Love that AC inside. I guess we’ll just keep our 2018 Yamaha 700 side by side. Cool video 👍❤️
Beautiful SBS. Hours of fun on the way. I think after your weather warms a little your food plot will really come on. On another subject, I don't ever recall you ever saying anything about having a feral hog problem. I hope you never will. They can really do a number on your property. I was wondering if there as much a problem in Pennsylvania or West Virginia as they are in Texas.
Nice looking machine. I am still running a 2000 Kawasaki Prairie 400. It starts and runs every time. I want a new machine but the old one won't give up.
That is a very nice machine indeed. I would be afraid of tearing up/trashing something like that for what I do around our place. The enclosed cab with climate control would certainly be nice here in north/central Florida. We have a Polaris Ranger 570 2 seater and a Polaris Ranger 900 XP which is a 6 seater. They have been good machines and suit our purpose really well.
Hey Mike I have the the Defender 10 limited in camouflage 2020. been great only issue has been the AC. Not sure on the 6 seater but on the 3 seater the oil change is a bear. Only complaint.
The Defender is a very nice machine! You could get the Windows Tinted, to help keep it more efficiently cool. It would also, look great with the 2 tone body colors.
That’s a good looking runabout Mike it’s more powerful than my car btw The food plot is looking amazing Just like it’s always been there I see the logs are disappearing slowly It will be better when they’re all processed back in the wood yard When the stone arrives will you be using the old blueford truck Not seen it working for sometime Great video 👍👍
Good video Mike, enjoy your new Father’s Can Am Defender. I’ll bet you Ty and Thia will love going for a ride with you and Melissa in it. As for Bo, well, he’ll have wait a few years to go for a ride in it.
Nice machine but if I'm going to spend $35,000 plus for a side by side I'll pay Xtra and get a jeep. My Polaris Ranger 570 was $11,000, five years old no problems. Single cyl 42 horse engine, way better gas mileage than a twin. Goes 50 mph. Way fast enough for me. Work it everyday. Can Am dealer wanted $2000 more for an equal machine. Hell I've never even spent that much for a car in my life. Nice machine, you will enjoy it!
I bought one and I kept smelling something burning, I lifr up the bed to get a look. When I did the header pipe was so hot it was CHERRY RED! Brand new. I got rid of it rite away! I don't know how it didn't melt the head! If you get one I would get a fire extinguisher...
Can Am looks like really good machine Mike. Daniel is a good guy, been a fan a while, and he appears to be a man of his word. I would as well value his input. Nice features, A/C Heater yep, a must. Winch useful in many ways, not sure about it's pulling power, not tensile strength of the cable. Thanks for the video, a little rain and the food plot ought to explode! 💯🙏 Saw Hunt man, in Eva's video background. Tell him hey for us :)
Hi Mike and everybody. Congrats on the new Can Am! I have a 2005 Kawasaki Mule which I bought used from a neighbor here in the ADK mountains. Lets not kid ourselves. This Can Am is nothing like UTVs just 5 years ago let alone my 19 year old Mule. The ride, comfort and utility is more like a really nice small truck. You get what you pay for. Every time I price one of these the final price is over $33k. I am not there yet but once I build my garage / shop put up I am headed to the dealer. Have a great day people. Get outside.
I have a 2001 Kawasaki 550 Mule. It does everything I need it to do and I have no intention of getting an upgrade. These were some of the best UTV's ever made.
I have heard nothing but great things about the mules for years until Levi got his lol, He got a couple letters from Kawasaki saying don't use it it they had some catching fire! Long story but they said they have a fix for it but waiting on EPA approval, and they wont say if they had problems with one or two or 100?
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans Sounds like they are just trying to avoid trouble in the courts. But, for sure, the later Mules do seem to be plagued by problems.

5% tint your windows all around and it hold cold air great. That’s what we do here in South Alabama for mud riding in 105 degree summers.

We have a Polaris Ranger 570 2 seater and a Polaris Ranger 900 XP which is a 6 seater. They have been good machines and suit our purpose really well.
I have a buddy that has a commander Xtreme crew cab and it’s a beast! Think you made a good choice
Nice little king machine. Looking forward to seeing the scenery down in WV. That will be fun. Have a great weekend and stay safe everybody
Hey Mike I have the the Defender 10 limited in camouflage 2020. been great only issue has been the AC. Not sure on the 6 seater but on the 3 seater the oil change is a bear. Only complaint.
Nice machine like it excellent mike cheers 🥂 😊
Mike great looking machine 👍
We have the Can-Am Defender Lone Star. We had mirrors and turn signals added to it to make us street legal.
We absolutely love ours!
Really, really nice ride Mike. Can Am in the past, were known for their racing 4 wheelers. But luxury and ride have taken a new road!
Beautiful! Enjoy!!
The Defender is a very nice machine!
You could get the Windows Tinted, to help keep it more efficiently cool. It would also, look great with the 2 tone body colors.
Hello Mike good morning The new machine is nice Be safe and God bless
Crazy how advanced these machines are. You pay for what you get. Looks nice
That thing is beautiful
I rented a maverick in the desert. It was a guided trip and has the slow key in. I was blown away with the ride and power, even with the slow key.
That’s a good looking runabout Mike it’s more powerful than my car btw
The food plot is looking amazing Just like it’s always been there I see the logs are disappearing slowly It will be better when they’re all processed back in the wood yard
When the stone arrives will you be using the old blueford truck Not seen it working for sometime
Great video 👍👍
I like it. Thanks for sharing.
Good video Mike, enjoy your new Father’s Can Am Defender. I’ll bet you Ty and Thia will love going for a ride with you and Melissa in it. As for Bo, well, he’ll have wait a few years to go for a ride in it.
Hello Mike, thats quite a machine you got there. I'm sure you all will get years of enjoyment from it.
I hope so!
Very nice machine. Hopefully it lasts for a long time.
Agree on the Jeep (used) more rugged, street legal everywhere and more tow capacity.
Use my 72 cj5 for work around the farm
Nice ride, Mike! It’s hard to believe the price these side by sides are going for. They are a must have on the farm or for land management.
Enjoy!
Very nice the way the windshield folds up is really cool. Looks like a portable deer stand LOL. I have a old Gator and the grandkids love it have fun
Nice Mike. Good luck with it !!
Been eyeballing the CanAms for a while. They sure do look (and sound) nice.
