    As a 65 year old Irishman I can say that these 2 tests nearly sent me to the next world! I don't know if my heart can get through the autumn internationals. Great time to be a rugby fan, we are being served up some great rugby at club and international level. My only worry is that the number of games in a season is creeping up, I would rather quality over quantity so I hope this new northern vs southern hemisphere tournament either gets scrubbed or the teams send developing players only.

    • @johnkilcullen
      @johnkilcullen 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Then, like me (75), you'll remember that when rugby went professional we were all worried that Ireland would be unable to compete. In the early years our teams were on the receiving end of some serious hammerings from England, France, South Africa, New Zealand and others. Now we're up there with the best. Even when we lose it's by narrow margins. I don't care if we are the best in world or not. The gap between the top 5 is very narrow anyway. But I'm in awe of the achievement of Irish rugby. BTW I had the privilege of being at both games.

      What an ungracious winner you are. Was going to congratulate Ireland, but not after your scathing remark. It's called humidity (very high in Durban) that makes the turf slippery, especially at speed. No diving, just slipping & sliding. Unlike the cynical foul play on Marx - croc-rolled by 2 of your players that resulted in a fractured tibia. Both your players deserved red cards - no mitigating factors whatsoever. Mostert's leg broken... malicious, cynical foul play yet again. Those serious injuries hindered our stalwarts of the game (didn't cost them the game) but certainly impacted the style of play of the Springboks who were most likely trying to avoid further serious injuries. Unlike your poor sportsmanship, Springboks supporters remained in the stadium to congratulate your team on their win when they did a lap of honour. You could most certainly learn a good many things from them.

    • @vivb5180
      @vivb5180 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      To be fair, Porter faked an injury after getting cleaned just so that it could checked by the TMO, which is far worse than what Kolbe did.

    All the SA scores came from penalty kicks (some very dubious penalty decisions by the referee). They never really threatened the Irish try line. On the other hand, Ireland showed poise, invention, skill and intelligence in their play, with scores coming from different players in different ways.

    • @christianmpassi3450
      @christianmpassi3450 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      And as a rugby fan but still learning the intricacies of how penalties are awarded, the way South Africa plays is very frustrating. We've seen lately very brilliant players who create entertaining games to watch, guys like Kurt Lee Arendse, Mannie Libbok, Edwil van der Merwe, Grant Williams but here it looked like SA reverted to its old boring play.

    • @vivb5180
      @vivb5180 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Driver2616 equally dubious penalties on both sides kinda cancels them out (see analysis of ref/TMO decisions link below). Yes, Ireland showed poise with 2 players deliberately and illegally croc-rolling SA hooker, Marx - fractured his tibia. Those 2 players should have been red-carded - almost did his ACL again as well (he's only just returned to play since RWC23). Mostert went off with a broken leg... dangerous play. Simply not in the true spirit of the game. Yet other teams call the Springboks dirty players... what a joke! Didn't see any Irish players drenched in blood either. The Boks may be big and powerful, but they use their strength legally (not always in previous decades, but since Rassie & Co are in charge of coaching). Cynical foul play is not OK for any team to execute. th-cam.com/video/yEikIrT9LIk/w-d-xo.html

    The ref did a great job. If the only slight I would say would be to better the whistle call when a scrum gets turned to the point where the defensive team is folding on themselves and that can have a real danger to anyones neck, back, head and spinal injuries with the full pressure at the end with multiple players piling one on top of the other. But loved the games great skills and speed. Exciting to watch and I'm a staunch born and bred Maori.

En 2027, je prédis que la coupe sera gagnée par les Irlandais ou les All Blacks. Même si les Boks vont encore monter en puissance et réveler de nouveaux talents, ils s'arrêteront en demi.

      Still sore about losing to the Springboks in the semi-finals at RWC23? A game won fair and square by a better team that always shows great sportsmanship, leadership & grace in victory & defeat, unlike fans like you who whinge whenever your team loses. Kolbe doesn't dive. High humidity in Durban makes the turf slippery, and when you have the speed & skills of Kolbe, it's easy to slip and slide when trying to charge down a ball. Oh yes, you should know all about his speed and skill... he chased down your goal-kicker's attempt and denied you those points. No wonder you have such a grudge against him and the Springboks who denied you a win on your home soil. Four RWCs and two back-to-back RWCs says it all. Do try to be gracious in defeat, except I don't think you would know how. How sad.

    South Africa is changing the game of rugby in to soccer which is not good for a world champion.The beauty of rugby is by creating a beautiful try and it's slipping away

    Kolbe shoud retire after that football esc embarrassing shoite, I have no wish to see such shithousery like this creep into the game....

      To be fair, Porter blatantly faked an injury after getting cleaned just so that it could checked by the TMO, which is far worse than what Kolbe did & way more embarrassing. Speaking of shithousery... Ireland players (especially the two who cynically croc-rolled Marx after he's just returned from months off with ACL surgery & recovery) should both have been red-carded - no mitigating factors whatsoever, and clear & intentional dangerous foul play. Don't need to see this in the game, nor the bloodbath (very one-sided - those on the receiving end). See link: th-cam.com/video/yEikIrT9LIk/w-d-xo.html

      Well they’ve beaten South Africa 4 out of the last 5 games including at the world cup so saying they are no match isn’t quite right is it?
