How to HIDE your AV Equipment and still use the Remote Controls by using IR (infrared) Extenders

  • Hi, this video shows you a solution for hiding your A/V equipment in a different location to your TV and still being able to use the infrared remote controls. By using the IR remote control extenders it allows you to put the receiver by the TV and then the set top box/ DVD player etc. elsewhere.
If you want this product or want to read reviews then look at UK Amazon Affiliate link amzn.to/2NT327U . I will get a small percentage of the sale if this link is used, (you do not pay anymore for it).
    Many thanks, Vince

I have one of those cheapo extenders with the little wires that you stick on each box. It does work well but occasionally the glue comes unstuck & the sensors fall off. I like yours better. Not sure if there's enough room for one of those blasters to reach across the front of my boxes though as they are a tight fit, very close to the door.

Very tidy cabling. What trunking did you use to hide the cabling? As you mentioned I have the cheaper ones that you are meant to stick on the devices themselves. I used to do that but can fall off and do leave nasty sticky residue on your equipment. I now have them stuck on the back of my cabinet doors. I do prefer your repeater better maybe time for an upgrade! Great video mate!

Nice little video, the cable set up there is so neat, I would love some tricks and tips on how to organise my death trap fire hazard I have under my TV haha. One question though, the 5v USB to plug you have there would it not also work to plug the use just a microUSB cable from the box into the back of the TV to power it and save on the plug space or would it require proper power from the wall?
